DIED: ECKERSON - In Shelby, Orleans Co., N. Y., April 23, 1875, of paralysis, Mrs. Maria ECKERSON, wife of the late John ECKERSON, aged 62 years, 8 months.
"O'er the waters, dark and foaming,
Is a bright and peaceful shore:
There the blissful bands are roaming,
Of our loved ones gone before.
"By the crystal streams of heaven,
In its fields of fadeless flow'rs;
To our loved and lost are given
Purer joys than these of ours.
"In the many mansion'd dwellings
Of the holy and the blest,
Where the glad new song is swelling,
Our beloved are at rest.
Do they whisper there the story
Of the love for us below?
TO those summer heights of glory,
Do they long for us to go?
"We will hush each sigh of sadness,
Lest it reach that peaceful land,
There will come an hour of gladness,
We shall join the spirit band."

Last Sabbath afternoon, one of our most estimable and beloved friends was taken from our midst, with only a very short warning to those most near and dear. Mrs. Frank ELLIOTT, wife of Mr. Chas. ELLIOTT, whose marriage occurred but one month ago and notice of which duly appeared in the TRIBUNE, was the one taken from us; called thus early to dwell upon the other side, and leave behind the mourning husband, parents, sisters and friends. She is but gone before, there to wait until joined with the loved ones here below. To those near and dear, who are thus early called upon to part with their loved one. Every consolation from sympathizing friends is offered, for we know she is safe over there.
