He is survived by his father, Joseph GRABOWSKI and four sisters, Mrs. Steve MENZEL of Middleport, Edna COTRESS, Celia & Margaret GRABOWSKI, and five brothers, Phillip, Martin, Joseph, Leo and William.
The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at nine o'clock at Sacred Heart Church and burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mrs. Grace Grabouski (GRABOWSKI), wife of Joseph GRABOWSKI, died suddenly at her home on the Hoffman Road at 5:45 Monday afternoon. While Mrs. GRABOWSKI had been in ill health for the past year, her death at this time was unexpected.
She is survived by her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Rose MENZEL of Middleport and Edna, Cecelia and Margaret at home; six sons, Martin of Middleport and Andrew, Phillip, Joseph, Leo and William of the Hoffman Road; three sisters, Mrs. Leo SHANNON of Medina, Mrs. Lawrence STEINMEYER of Niagara Falls and Mrs. Walter LEVENDUSKI of West Shelby and five brothers, James and Fred HOFFMAN of Middleport, Joseph of Medina and Jacob and Andrew of the Hoffman Road.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at nine o’clock from Sacred Heart Church with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

The death of Joseph GRABOWSKI, 72, occurred at his Shelby Basin home on the Hoffman road late Saturday night. His death followed a long illness. Born in Poland he had been a resident of this vicinity for the past 50 years and had been engaged in the quarry business the greater part of his life. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of Sacred Heart Society.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Stephen MENZEL, Middleport; Mrs. Walter COTRISS, Mrs. Raymond BENSLEY and Mrs. Melvin GREEN, all of Medina, and five sons, Phillip, Joseph, Martin, Leonard and William, all of Medina, tho sisters in Poland and one brother, Peter GRABOWSKI of Buffalo. Also several nephews and nieves and eight grandchildren.
Furneral services will be held from his late home Wednesday at 8:16 a.m. Rev. Max Bogacki will officiate and burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mrs. Amanda GRACEY, 76, widow of Robert GRACEY, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert KRUGER, 577 East Avenue, following a long illness. Born Jan. 5, 1869 at Welland, Ontario, Mrs. GRACEY resided at Lyndonville for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Clarence GRACEY of Lyndonville, who has volunteered as a Red Cross worker and leaves Wednesday ro assume his duties, and Charles GRACEY of Attica; two daughters, Mrs. Albert KRUGER of Medina, and Mrs. Earl VERBRIDGE od Lyndonville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Albert SENSKE of Jordan, Ontario, and Mrs. Oscar ECKER of Vineland, Ontario; and five brothers, Frank ECKER of Sequim, Wash., Norman ECKER of Lyndonville, John and Harmon ECKER of St. Catherines, Ont., and Arthur ECKER of Vineland, Ont.
Funeral services will be held from the Warne Funeral Home, Maple Avenue, Lyndonville, Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Walter Readett of Medina officiating. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery, lyndonville.

LYNHAVEN BURIAL FOR C.L. GRACEY WHO DIED FRIDAY
Lyndonville - Funeral services were held in the Smythe Funeral Home at 2 o'clock today for
Clarence L. GRACEY of 36 West Ave. with the Rev. Donald M. Peck, pastor of the Methodist
Church, officiating. Burial was in
Lynhaven Cemetery. On
Friday afternoon, Mr. GRACEY suffered a heart attack and was rushed to Medina Memorial
Hospital where death resulted early in the evening.
Born on October 23, 1897 on Murdock Road, Town of Yates, he was the son of the late Robert and Amanda FOKER (?) GRACEY and had been a lifetime resident of the township. On Nov. 29, 1920, he was united in marriage to Miss Josie PLUMMER.
Although Mr. GRACEY had always engaged in farming, he had formerly operated a flour and feed mill for many years. During World War II he had served as a director of the American Red Cross both in Austria and later Japan. He was a co-chairman of the 1956 local Red Cross fund drive. A member of the Lyndonville Methodist Church and of the official board of the Church he had also taught a class in the Sunday School. He was also a member of the Lyndonville Trail Riders Club.
Surviving besides his wife are one brother, Charles GRACEY of Attica, and two sisters Mrs. Albert KRUGER, Rochester and Mrs. Earl VERBRIDGE of Lyndonville, also two nieces and one nephew.

On Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph M. CAROLL, on West Academy Street, occurred the death of Mr. John GRADY, a former resident of East Gaines and well known in this village. For fifty-two years Mr. GRADY was engaged in farming, but retired from active live about three years ago. Deceased was born in County Clare (near Ennis), Ireland and came to Orleans County over a half century ago. He has been a resident of this county ever since. Mr. GRADY was a member of St. Joseph Church.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Timothy DONOVAN of Rochester; Mrs. Warren JORDON and Mrs. Albert SCHARPING of Carlton, and Mrs. J. M. William H. GRAVES, 52 years old, of No. 288 Lexington avenue, Buffalo, formerly of Medina, committed suicide at his home on Sunday evening by shooting himself through the left temple with a 38 calibre revolver. Mr. GRAVES is survived by his widow; one son, Louis, of Buffalo; a daughter, Mrs. W. H. (Gertrude) PARKER, of Ripley; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Anna) KIBLER, of Medina, and Mrs. L. E. (Carrie) HENION, of Rochester, and two brothers, Edward GRAVES, of Brockport, and Charles E. GRAVES, of Rochester.
Deceased had been in ill health more than a year, having been obliged to resign his position at the Snow Steam Pump Works on that account. The fatal act was committed while friends were calling at the unfortunate man's home. His wife went to call him when she discovered her husband’s body stretched on the floor, with a revolver still clutched in his hand. At his side lay a note which read: "I shot myself. Discouraged. Don't send my body to the hospital." The remains were brought here on Tuesday and the funeral held under the auspices of the I. O. O. F., of which order he had been a member for a long time. The interment was in Boxwood Cemetery.

Miss GRAY Dead; For 33 Years a Lyndonville Faculty Member Lyndonville - The death of Miss Alice GRAY of 37 Maple Avenue occurred Sunday afternoon in Medina Memorial Hospital after an illness of several weeks. Born in the Town of Ridgeway on May 14, 1907, she was the daughter of Mrs. Alma GRAY of the above address and the late William C. GRAY.
A graduate of Lyndonville High School in the class of 1925, she continued her interest in sports and physical fitness by attending physical education school at Cortland from which she graduated in 1928. She has taken advanced courses at Syracuse University. In June this year she completed 33 years of teaching girls' physical education in the Lyndonville school system.
Miss GRAY's concern for the spiritual and moral as well as the physical welfare of her pupils led to many a quiet talk in connection with class exercises. Her kindness, good humor and tolerance endeared her to school children and adults alike. Active in faculty affairs, Miss GRAY was chairman of the committee of The Teachers Association which developed the scholarship fund drive in May and saw a long cherished dream fulfilled. She was a member of the New York State Teachers Association and the National Education Association.
Long an active member of the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church and its Sunday School and Guild, she had served in the capacity of financial secretary for a few years prior to assuming the office of church treasurer, which office she has held for over five years. Surviving are her mother; one sister, Mrs. Grace GRAY-CROWLEY; one foster brother, James WEAVER of Fremont, Calif.; two aunts, Miss Clara GRAY and Mrs. Theda GRAY, Lyndonville, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 in the Smythe Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Richar Billingsley, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Lyndonville - Miss Alma A. GRAY, 90, of 37 Maple Ave., was pronounced dead upon arrival at Medina Memorial Hospital Saturday. She was the widow of the late William C. GRAY, whose death occurred in Dec. 1945. A daughter, Miss Alice GRAY, died in Aug. 1962. Mrs. GRAY has resided all her adult life in the Lyndonville area. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and of the Worthwhile Class and the Guild of that church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Grace GRAY CTOWLEY; a foster son, James K. WEAVER of Costa Mesa, Calif., and three cousins, Mrs. Irving FRAATZ and Mrs. Vila FIERETZ, both of Medina, and Mrs. Franlin EICK of Middleport. Funeral services were held this afternoon in the Smythe Funeral Home at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Richard Billingsley. Burial was in Lynhaven Cemetery.

On Monday last at about 1:30 o'clock, our citizens were surprised when they heard of the death of Mr. Charles GRAY, one of Albion's well known and leading citizens, which occurred at his late home. Mr. GRAY had been ill with pneumonia only a short time and no one thought his case a critical one until a short time before he expired. His age was 56 years. Mr. GRAY for many years conducted a nursery, which he successfully managed up to the time of his death. He was an honest and upright citizen and was respected by those who knew him. He was of a kind and generous disposition; a man of splendid character and one in whom confidence could be placed.
He was a devoted member of the Albion Baptist Church and held the office of deacon in said church for some time. He was a good, kind Christian gentleman, and his death will be a loss in the community where he had resided nearly all his life.
The funeral will be held this Thursday morning from his late residence in Allen street at 11 o'clock, Rev. D. L. Jamison, pastor of the Baptist church officiating. Mr. GRAY is survived by a widow (Mary Jane (nee Howland)) and married daughter (Inez Howland, wife of George H. CASEY). Interment in Mount Albion cemetery. (error)

Clara GRAY, 85 Dies; Once in Family Business
Miss Clara A. GRAY, 85, of 69 S Main St., died Saturday morning in the Bishop Nursing
Home, Medina, where she had been a patient for two years and eight months. Born Jan. 29,
1880, she was the daughter of William and Mary SINCLAIR GRAY. She attended Lyndonville
school and was graduated from the high school in 1899. Before her death she was the oldest
living alunma of Lyndonville High School.
Miss Gray was a member of the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church and of the Guild of that church. During her active years she had been associated with her father and brother in the William Gray & Son Lumber Company here. Her interests since retirement included the Yates Community Library wheree she had been of great help.
Surviving are one niece, Mrs. Grace GRAY CROWLEY; two cousins, Louis B. SWIFT and Harry SWIFT of Rochester, and two sisters-in-law, Mrs William GRAY and Mrs John C. Gay [sic GRAY] of Lydonville. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 pm in the Smythe Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Richard Billingsley, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Burial was made in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Emma E. GRAY, 82, of 147 Maple Ave. died suddenly last night at her home. She was the widow of James Henry GRAY, whose death occurred in 1943. Mrs. GRAY was born in Medina on Jan. 6, 1887, and had lived here her entire lifetime. She had been a member of First Baptist Church for fifty-three years, and a member of Welcome Rebekah Lodge for the same period.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Helen) HETZ, at home, and Mrs. James (Geraldine) HOFFMAN of Medina; two grandchildren, Mrs. Ronald BAKER of Shelby Center and Donald GIMBLE of Eagle Harbor, several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, Pearl St., where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. H. Burton Entrekin of First Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Boxwood Cemetery.

As she with a party of friends stepped from the car, an auto driven by Max Welshaar, Jr., who was driving on the wrong side of the street and at a high rate of speed, struck Miss GRAY, dragging her about 50 feet.

Mrs. Harriet COLEMAN GRAY, whose death occurred Wednesday morning, Dec. 31, 1919, at her late residence in this village, will be missed from a large circle of friends whom she had gathered around her and to whom she had endeared herself by her radiant and cherry spirit thruout the years of her suffering which were many. She was born at Norwich, England, Jan. 25, 1844, where she lived till her 7th year when her parents came to this country and settled on a farm on the Lyndonville Road just North of the Ridge.
On Jan. 4, 1866, she was married to Robert GRAY, a prosperous young farmer who had come to this town from Caledonia and who had acquired the large farm a few miles each of Lyndonville, which has since been known as the 'Gray Farm,' and where Mrs. GRAY began her life as wife and mother. To this union there were born their two children, who survive her, Walter Coleman GRAY of Lyndonville, and Mrs. Elizabeth SHERWOOD CONLEY of Lockport. In 1868 she united with the Presbyterian church of Lyndonville, to which she had been a most faithful and devoted member.
Some twenty-six years ago Mr. and Mrs. GRAY sold their farm and moved into the village taking up their abode at their residence on Main street. He died after a short residence of two years. She lived to mourn the death of loved ones who made their home with her, the hardest to bear perhaps being that of her grandson Robert Sherwood whose untimely death was caused by drowning. The funeral services were conducted from her late residence by her pastor, the Rev. Herbert H. Brown, on Friday, Jan. 2, at 2 o'clock, interment being made in Lynhaven Cemetery.

J.W. GRAY, an old and esteemed resident of this town, died at his residence south of the village on Wednesday last, aged 56 years. He leaves a wife (Annie WEBSTER), one son (Charles B. GRAY) and two daughters (Fannie Calista and Hallie). Mr. Gray was well known throughout Western New York as a fruit grower and nurseyman, and he was always deeply interested in horticultural matters. Mr. GRAY's disease was typhoid pneumonia, and he was sick but a short time.

LYNDONVILLE, June 26, - John C. GRAY, 64, owner of the J. C. Gray & Co. lumber business, Democratic committeeman of the Town of Yates, died Tuesday at his Main St. home following a three months’ illness. Born Aug. 10, 1881 in Lyndonville, the son of the late William and Mary SINCLAIR GRAY, he lived here his entire lifetime.
Mr. GRAY continued the operation of the lumber business started by his father, whose death occurred in 1907. He attended the local schools and Rochester Business Institute. A member of Yates Lodge F & A M 675, he was a past master, and served as treasurer for 17 years. He was a member of the Northeastern Lumbermen's Association.
Surviving are his wife, Theda DOWD GRAY (See McIVOR); one sister, Miss Clara A. GRAY of Lyndonville; and two nieces. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 P. M. from his late home, with the Rev. Frederick Mittlefehldt of Elba, formerly of Lyndonville, officiating.

The news of the sudden and untimely death of Mrs. Walter C. GRAY came as a great shock to her many friends last Friday Morning, for she seemed to be steadily improving from the alarming attack which she suffered on the night of December 21. Her usual good health failed about a year ago, but her friends felt encouraged to hope that she would be able to rally from this her recent attack. Last Thursday she was again stricken, from which it was not possible for her to rally, as she succumbed about 11 o'clock that evening.
Minnie Laura was the eldest daughter of the late I. Clark PARSONS, and was born at the PARSON's homestead north-east of this village on April 22, 1871. Having always lived in this vicinity, she gained a wide circle of friends who deeply mourn her death. On October 11, 1893, she was united in marriage to Walter Coleman Gray, who at that time took possession of the GRAY farm east of Lyndonville, where they lived till they moved to their present home on Sunset view in 1909. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Presbyterian church of Lyndonville and will be greatly missed from its service and various activities. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Herbert H. Brown, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from her late residence. Members of the local Chapter of Eastern Star, with which order Mrs. GRAY has been long identified, were present. Interment was made in Lynhaven Cemetery.
A husband, one daughter, Mrs. Mildred GRAY PETRIE, one sister, Mrs. Julia FISK of Los Angles, Cal.; one brother, Mr. Lee PARSONS of Medina, and two grandchildren, Coleman ALLEN and Robert Lee PETRIE, survive. The heartfelt sympathy of the community goes out to Mr. GRAY in this his double bereavement.

Robert S. GRAY
>The citizens of Lyndonville and vicinity were startled on Wednesday afternoon, March
28th, by the death, after a brief illness, of Robert S. GRAY, of that village. The
youngest of the three sons of the late Walter GRAY, he was born in Caledonia, Livingston
Co., N. Y., August 19, 1838. When Robert was but a few weeks old, Walter GRAY removed with
his family to the township of Yates, in which Lyndonville is situated, where, excepting a
brief temporary residence in Medina, he spent the remainder of his life, Robert remaining
with him upon the farm and succeeding him in its possession and management upon his
father's death.
Two years ago Mr. GRAY removed to Lyndonville, leaving his farm under the care of his only son Walter, who, with his only daughter, Elizabeth, married in December last to Fancher SHERWOOD, of Somerset, survives him. There are still living his brothers, William GRAY, of Lyndonville, and George B. GRAY, of Pontiac, Illinois, and two sisters, Mrs. Euphemia SWIFT, of Lyndonville, and Mrs. John MALLETT, of Yates.
Robert GRAY was married Jan. 4, 1866 to Harriet COLEMAN, of Ridgeway, who remains to mourn his loss. Quiet, but energetic and industrious, upright and honorable, he was a kind neighbor, a public-spirited citizen, a conscientious and consistent christian, commanding the confidence and respect of all who knew him, and very dear to a wide circle of friends and neighbors. Long a member of the Presbyterian Church of Lyndonville, of whose service, with all his father's family, he had all of his life been an attendant, he was for the last fourteen years a highly respected and efficient member of the session. He will be sadly missed in all of the circles of public and private life with which he was identified.
The funeral took place at his late residence on Saturday afternoon, March 28th, the pastor of the Presbyterian Church, Dr. Freeman, conducting the service.

Walter GRAY, who is well known in this vicinity, died at his home south of Middleport, on Sunday morning last, after a brief illness with typhoid fever pneumonia. Deceased was married about four years ago to Miss Madge ARNOLD, only daughter of the late John ARNOLD.
The funeral occurred on Tuesday, Rev. G. A. Kratzer officiating. Mr. GRAY was about forty years of age, and besides his widow, three brothers - Almon J. of Buffalo, Charles and Fred, of Jeddo, survive.

Lyndonville - Walter Coleman GRAY, 84, died at his home, Swett Rd., early this morning after an illness of several months. He was born in Town of Yates March 20, 1871, the son of Robert and Harriet COLEMAN GRAY, and he had resided in the community, where he had been engaged in farming, all his adult life. Mr. GRAY’s first wife, Mrs. Minnie GRAY, died Jan. 8, 1919, and in Feb. 1921, he was married to Miss Florence COLE of Rochester. The deceased was a member of Lyndonville Presbyterian Church and had served as elder since 1898, having been elected to the board to replace his father. In recent years he had served in the capacity of honorary elder. He was a member of Yates Lodge 675, F&AM.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence PETRIE of Lyndonville, and three grandchildren, Coleman PETRIE of Medina, Robert PETRIE of Marblehead, Mass., and Mrs. Robert ALBONE of Rochester. Also eight great-grandchildren; one nephew, Clayton SHERWOOD of East Orange, N.J., and two nieces, Mrs. Ethel CONLEY in Arizona, and Mrs. Irene TESNOW of York, Pa.
Services will be held at the Smythe Funeral Home, N. Main St., Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Billingsley officiating. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.

The death of William Clark GRAY, 82, occurred late Monday afternoon, Dec. 31, at Medina Memorial hospital where he had been a patient since Dec. 23. He had been in poor health for nearly two years as a result of injuries he sustained in a fall. Born in Lydonville, Dec. 20, 1863, the son of William and Hannah GRAY, he had spend his entire life in this community. He engaged in farming, and pursued that occupation on a farm in the Town Line rd. just east of Beck's corners as long as his health permitted. The family moved from that location to their present residence in Maple ave. about one year ago. Mr. GRAY was a member of Lydonville Presbyterian church.
He married Miss Alma BERGMAN, who survives him, together with two daughters, Mrs. Grace GRAY CROWLEY of Tonawanda, and Miss Alice GRAY, who is physical education teacher in Lyndonville Central school; also one brother, John C. GRAY, and one sister, Miss Clara A. GRAY, both of Lydonville. Funeral services will be held from the Smythe Funeral home Thursday afternoon, Jan. 3, at 2 o'clock. Rev. William A. Findley of Medina Presbyterian church will officiate and interment will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Elizabeth TOWN, wife of Edward GREASART, of this place, died of paralysis yesterday afternoon, after several weeks illness. Deceased was 51 years of age. The funeral will be held at the residence on Park Avenue, on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The obsequies of Elizabeth, wife of Edward GREASART, occurred at the home on Park Avenue, where she died Wednesday afternoon last, February 29th. Mrs. GREASART was in her fifty-second year and leaves a husband and two daughters--Mrs. Mary, wife of Eugene BEYER, and Miss Lizzie, and an only brother--George S. Town, of Marion, Kansas--to mourn her loss.
Mrs. GREASART was a daughter of the late George R. and Maria TOWN, whose remains rest in Boxwood Cemetery and where now, by their side, their daughter’s remains have been placed by gentle and loving friends.
Mrs. GREASART was born in Medina and her birth dates nearly from the infancy of this village. All her days have been spent here and run current with its growth and prosperity of which her’s was a part. She was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church and a constant attendant at its altar. As a faithful wife and kind mother in her circumstances of life she had no superior. In sickness she was always ready at call, and among her kindred a present help in all their afflictions; as a neighbor affable, kind and accommodating; in society an esteemed, exemplary and worthy member. And now that her days are ended, it can be safely be said, by one who has known her from infancy, that among the living she leaves none but friends.

The death of Conrad W. GREEN, 61, of Brockton, occurred Friday, July 21, at the home of his daughter in Syracuse. His death was caused by a sudden attack of asthma. Mr. GREEN owned and operated the Brockton Fruit company in Brockton for twenty years and after 1936 was affiliated with the Appleale(?) company in Medina.

Mrs. I. J. GREEN, Former Ridgeway Resident, Dies
Mrs. Iva J. GREEN, 77, of 18 South St., Lockport, died Friday in Lockport Memorial Hospital
after a long illness.
Mrs. GREEN was born June 18, 1892 in the Town of Ridgeway, the daughter of John and Emma
RUMBLE. In 1912 she married Frank GREEN of Ridgeway. The couple resided in the Ridgeway
area most of their married life. Mr. GREEN died about 29 years ago, and Mrs. GREEN moved to
Lockport.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sidney (Dorothy) THAINE of Lyndonville and Mrs. George (Beatrice) DeHULLER of Albion; a son, Robert of Medina; 7 grandchildren and 11 great - grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, William RUMBLE of Medina; two sisters, Mrs. Harold LACEY of Middleport and Mrs. Claude LACEY of Ridgeway; two stepbrothers, Francis RUMBLE of Lyndonville and Myron CLARK of Medina, and two stepsisters, Mrs. Verna STALKER and Mrs.Clifford JAMES, both of Lyndonville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Smythe Funeral Home, Lyndonville, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Richard Billingsley, pastor of Lyndonville Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Bates Road Cemetery.

Mrs. Nellie GREEN, wife of Elbert GREEN, passed away Saturday, May 22nd, aged 46. She had been a
patient sufferer at the Medina Memorial Hospital six days. She leaves her husband and' his aged mother,
with whom they resided, and three daughters, Alice and Ethel and Mrs. Howard YAXLEY; also a son, Charles,
6 years of age. She was a member of the M. E. Church, the Ladies' Aid the Stmt Shelby Grange, and
taught a class in the Sunday school for several years. They celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding
anniversary in 1926. The funeral services were conducted from her late home Monday afternoon,
May 24th, Rev. E. D. Robinson officiating. Burial in
Millville Cemetery.

A Fatal Dose of Arsenic Taken by Mistake Stephen GREEN, a Polish employe in the street department, drank a compound of arsenic Saturday morning and died in great agony. GREEN, with several other street men, took refuge from the rain in the barn of Clark Hoag, on Center street. Mr. Hoag is the owner of a vineyard and sometimes makes wine. A keg with a faucet attracted the attention of the men and GREEN drew part of a cup full of the contents and drank it. Shortly after he was taken violently ill, but little attention was paid to him and he died a little later. The keg contained a compound of arsenic and sal soda, used for spraying trees and vines. GREEN's companions were prevented from taking a dose by the timely arrival of Mr. Hoag, otherwise some of the others might have suffered the fate of the unfortunate man.

William A. GREEN, 57, died at his home on Roosevelt Highway last night following a lingering illness. He was a member of the Lyndonville Grange and the Lyndonville Methodist Church. For many years he operated a farm in this area and is well known to many Medina residents.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Lily GREEN; three sons, Arnold of Buffalo, and Howard and Lloyd of Lyndonville; one daughter, Miss Violet GREEN, a student nurse at the Highland Hospital in Rochester; two brothers George GREEN of Rochester and Earl GREEN of Medina; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie RICHARDS and Mrs. Lena BACON, both of Medina, and Mrs. Bertha FURNESS, of Ridgeway; two grandchildren; three cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with burial in Carlton Cemetery

A nine year old third grader at St. Mary’s school with a liking for playing along the Barge Canal drowned in that waterway Saturday when he fell in from a sandpile where he had been playing with two other boys.
Youths at the St. Mary’s school described John Louis GREENLAND, the drowned boy, as having a great liking for walking along the canal bank. They said he would often travel out of his way from his home at 353 South Avenue to school in order to enjoy these walks. At the time of the drowning he and his brother, Douglas, 7, had gone with 'Jose', a Puerto Rican lad in the second grade at St. Mary’s school, to play near the latter’s home, which was near the canal. The Greenland boys had been warned against this by their parents.
The three youngsters were playing on a sandpile at the rear of the Medina Stamping & Machine Co., N. Main St., when John fell in at 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. His brother, Douglas immediately ran to the Loblaw store on Main Street and shouted that John had fallen into the water. The police were called and they arrived on the scene, with the fire department rescue squad soon after.
Firemen Frank EPPELITO and Donald COOK started dragging operations and were joined by John VANILLE, Steve CHAMPLIN, Bert CARDONE and Frank CALLARA in two private boats. Jack McCARTHY, equipped with diving apparatus searched for the boy.
The body was recoverd at 5:45 p.m. by CARDONE and CALLARA about 50-75 feet from where he had fallen in, in about 15 feet of water. The boy apparently was unable to support himself on the canal bank. He was not able to swim. Dr. Kenneth Clark was called to the scene but was unable to revive the boy. His body was taken to the Cleary Funeral Home by police lieutenant John PRATT, Jr. and patrolman Earl COON.
Funeral services are scheduled for 8:30 a. m. Tuesday at the Funeral home and at 9 at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
John had just completed third grade at St. Mary’s School and would have been 10 on August 1. He and his brother Douglas had been gone from home since 9:30 a.m. and had been told to return by an uncle, James WHITE, just 10 minutes prior to the tragedy. Besides his brother Douglas and his parents, he leaves another brother, Arthur, 13, a sister, Karen, 3, his grandmother, Mrs. Mabel WHITE of Rochester and Mrs. Helena GREENLAND of Princeton, W. Va.

Alonzo GREENMAN died at his home in Sandwich, Ill., on Friday last at the age of 95 years. Mr. GREENMAN was born and passed his boyhood in the town of Yates. When a young man he removed to Sandwich and became wealthy in the foundry business. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Ruth HOOD, of Knowlesville, and numerous nieces and nephews in this vicinity. He had never married.

Curtis J. GREGORY, aged 60 years, was fatally injured in an automobile collision Friday morning in North Miami, Fla. Police said thick fog caused the accident in which Gregory's car collided with. an automobile driven by Richard Barley, of Davis, Fla. Mr. Gregory was thrown against the windshield and suffered a fracture skull, dying soon after reaching the hospital. Barley suffered only minor injuries. Both drivers were held blameless by the police.
GREGORY, who was a maintenance man at the Biscayne Clinic in Miami, went to Uleta 13 years ago from Medina. He was a member of Rader Memorial Methodist Church and the Odd Fellows. He is survived by his wife; one brother, William L. GREGORY, of Lockport, and one sister, Mrs. Mary L. SWAFFORD, of Pikeville, Tenn.

Mrs. Jane GREGORY passed away Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs John MYHILL, of Millville, aged 83 years. The deceased had been in usual health until Tuesday morning when she suffered a stroke of paralysis and heart trouble. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Addie PARKER and Mrs John MYHILL of Millville. The funeral will be held from her late residence this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in Millville Cemetery.
The funeral of Mrs. Jane GREGORY was held from her late home at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, Rev. J. H. Sandmeyer, of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Millville, officiating. That Mrs. GREGORY was held in the highest esteem and respect by all of her many friends and neighbors was evinced by the large number who attended the services at her home Thursday.
Mrs. GREGORY was born and spent her early girlhood days on the Telegraph road, just east of Medina. Her maiden name was Jane BAYNE. On January 22, 1854, she was married to Miles GREGORY and went to the home south of Millville, where she had lived continuously for the past sisty-one years. Her husband passed away September 19, 1895. Since that time her home had been with her daughter, Mrs. John G. MYHILL, who, with Mrs. Addie PARKER, another daughter, are the only surviving relatives.
A kind christian woman who was always looking for an opportunity to help any of her friend and neighbors who were in sickness and distress, her many acts of kindness endeared her to all who knew her. Her passing away will leave a void that will not be filled for many years. Mrs. GREGORY and her husband became members of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Millville over forty years ago, and are both active in all of the work of that church during their lifetime.

Millville: It becomes our sad duty to record the death of Mrs. Matthew GREGORY, who departed this life on the evening of Sept. 27th, after a long, painful sickness, and for the last two months her friends have been almost daily expecting to see her breathe her last. There was some obstruction in her throat which prevented her from swallowing, so she almost literally starved to death. Deceased was 76 years old and was formerly the widow of the Rev. D. J. B. HOYT, of Eagle Harbor. Was married to her present husband, a little more than a year ago, and he at that time was an octogenarian. The funeral was held at the house on Tuesday and the remains taken to Mt. Albion Cemetery for interment.

The death of Mrs. Willis GREGORY occurred last evening at the Medina Hospital, after an illness of many years of diabetes, aged 59 years. The deceased was formerly Miss Mary PORTER, daughter of Wells PROTER, of Hudson, Mich. She leaves to mourn their loss, a husband, and four sons, L. P., of Pittsburg, H. A. of Knowlesville, Willis, Jr., of Anadork, Okla.,and Wells, of Boston; and two daughters, Mrs. W. D. WOOLSTON, of Detroit and Mrs. Jack ANTHONY, of New York City; also one brother, Frank PORTER, of New Kensington, Pa.; and one sister, Mrs. L. R. HITCHCOCK, of Edmunds, Washington.
The funeral will be held from her late home, 207 West Center street, Monday afternoon at one o’clock, Rev. M. E. Van Nostrand, of the First Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Albion Cemetery. The deceased possessed a very wide circle of friends, who will be grieved at her passing away. Kind and affectionate to all, she had endeared herself beyond measure. In her death Medina loses one of its most estimable women.

The death of Mrs. Mary E. GREGORY, 94, one of the oldest residents of Medina and the Town of Shelby, died this morning at her 216 Highland Avenue home. While she had been in ill health for a number of years her death was attributed to an apopletic stroke which occurred last Friday night.
Born in the town of Shelby, Jan 23, 1847, she has resided her entire lifetime in that township. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Medina and the Utility class of the same church. Always maintaining an interest in religious and civic affairs she attended church regularly and cast her vote in each election as long as her health permitted.
Surviving is one daughter, Miss Mildred GREGORY, who resided at home. Funeral services will be held from the Whittleton Funeral Home. 212 West Oak Orchard Street, Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Arthur Gregson, pastor of the Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Millville Cemetery.

Millville - Death has again entered this community and taken two old residents, ..........Thursday, the 19th, Jonathan L. ROOT departed this life. He had been failing for several years, but still kept about, although at times he could not walk without the aid of crutches and an attendant to support him. He was at the village only a few days before he died; but at last life went out like the going out of a candle. He came from Massachusetts, his native state, in 1840, and settled on the place where he has ever since lived and where he died at the age of sixty-nine. The funeral was attended at the brick church on Sunday. Rev. C. W. Drake, the acting pastor, preached a discourse from Isa, 64:6 "We do all fade as a leaf." He drew a very interesting lesson of life, after which he made some remarks with reference to the life and character of the deceased, and closed by reading the first five verses of the seventh chapter of Luke.
………On Monday morning, the 23d, we were surprised to hear of the death of Matthew GREGORY, aged 82. He too had been for some time out of health, but was able to be about the street. He lived alone and took care of his own home, since the death of his wife about six months since. He was taken worse last week Tuesday, when his grand-daughter, Mrs. Charles POTTER, came to care for him. On Thursday she took him home with her, after which he ran down rapidly until Monday morning when he went to occupy the mansion prepared for him. Mr. GREGORY came to this town with his father in the spring of 1815, since which time he has lived at Millville. He was the youngest of six brothers, all of whom lived until about twelve years since, and now, by the death of Matthew, Ralph is the only surviving one, and he has passed his four score years. The deceased was for many years Deacon of the Presbyterian church, and for quite a number of years a Justice of the Peace for the town of Shelby. Several years since he was the local correspondent from this place for the Medina Tribune, and more recently for the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. The funeral will be from the house of Mr. POTTER Wednesday at 11 o’clock a. m. ……..
Both of the above men were prominent in originating and beautifying the Millville cemetery; the former as Trustee and the latter as Secretary. And now the mortal remains of both are to lie side by side in the vault until the frost is out of the ground sufficiently to admit of digging their graves.

MILLVILLE: Death has been again in our midst. On Friday evening the 16th inst., Norman GREGORY departed this life, quite unexpectedly to all. He had been sick but a few days, and none thought him dangerously so, until a few moments before he died, though he was an old man, being eighty-five years of age. The GREGORY family were remarkable in some respects. There were six brothers of them, and they all lived until the youngest was more than seventy years old. But now three of them are gone and the others are all past eighty.

William GREGORY, aged 75 years, one of Medina's most prominent citizens died at 5:45 Sunday afternoon after a long illness at his home on West Center Street. Eleven years ago Mr. GREGORY moved to Medina from the Gregory homestead on County House road where he was born and where his son Herbert A. GREGORY now resides. He was the son of the late Arnold GREGORY donor of the Arnold Gregory Hospital in Albion. Mr. GREGORY was a member of the Medina Baptist Church and one of its trustees for many years. He is survived by his wife, four sons, LeRoy P. of Pittsburg Pa., Wells A. of Boston, Willis, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Herbert A. of this place, two daughters, Mrs. Grace W. HEATHMAN and Mrs. Mildred ANTHONY of Buffalo and two sisters, Mrs. Catherine HILL of Rochester and Mrs. Dan ROOT of this place and several grandchildren.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon and was largely attended. Rev. J. J. Allen, of Pittsburg, a former pastor of the Medina Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

A little son of Willis GREGORY, who resides about a mile south of Knowlesville, met with a singular accident which resulted fatally, on Thursday last. The child, who is about fifteen months old, fell out of a chair striking on his head in such a manner as to break his neck. Death resulted almost instantly.

Services Held For Mrs. Lillian Greiner Native Of Somerset
Lyndonville - Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian A. GREINER, 92, who died in a Rochester
hospital Friday, June 15, were held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock from the Smythe
Funeral Home.
Born in Somerset, N.Y., May 9, 1853, the daughter of Nathaniel and Jane BUSS, the deceased had lived in her native town, and in Niagara Falls before establishing her home on Garland Street in this village about twenty-two years ago. Her husband died in Niagara Falls thirty-six years ago. She was a member of the church of God of Niagara Falls; also she held a life membership certificate from Yates Chapter 215 O.E.S.
Her immediate survivors are a niece, Mrs. Ernest SEITZ, and two nephews, Harris WOODROE and William WOODROE, all of Lyndonville. Rev. Floyd A. Childs of Yates Baptist Church conducted the funeral service, and interment was in Lynhaven Cemetery.

The funeral of Thomas GRIBBEN, who died in his home on East Center on the 5th inst., was held Thursday morning from St. Mary's Church, Rev. Thomas F. Gleason officiating. He leaves his wife and one daughter, Miss Margurite M. GRIBBEN, of this village, and three sons, W. J., of Jamestown; D. One of Medina's oldest Residents— Served on Board of Trustees
Michael Griffin, one of the oldest residents of Medina died at his home on West Center
Street this morning at the age of 82 years. Mr. Griffin has been. identified with Medina
in a business way for many years and a considerable part of his life he conducted a
blacksmith shop and wagon factory on East Center Street, where the Central Garage is now
located. He has served Medina as a village trustee for several terms and been active in
political and civic affairs. He has been a resident of Medina for 64 years, the entire
time he has spent in the house on West Center Street in which he passed away. He is
survived by three daughters, Mrs Thomas Kirby of Albion, Mrs. E. J. Murphy of Buffalo, and
Minnie Griffin of Medina, and two sons, John B. Griffin of Batavia and William Griffin of
this village. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at St. Mary’s Church at nine
o’clock. The interment will be at
St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Funeral services for the late William GRIFFIN, who died Friday night, were held from St. Mary’s Church this morning. Mr. GRIFFIN had been in ill health for some time. His body was taken to the home of Mrs. Lena O’MALLEY on South Avenue following his death. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. E. MURPHY, and one brother, John B. GRIFFIN of Batavia.

One of the most brutal and cold blooded murders ever perpetrated in Orleans county, was committed Monday evening near the village of Oak Orchard, about seven miles northeast of this place. The victim was Cora, the thirteen-year-old daughter of John GRIMES, a well to do farmer of that place, and the murderer, Eugene Emory, a farm laborer, aged about forty years.
Monday evening Emory went over to Mr. GRIMES' house and took tea with the family. After tea Mr. and Mrs. GRIMES and a younger daughter drove to the home of Mr. GRIMES’ father, leaving their two little sons and a brother of Mr. GRIMES, aged about seventeen years, at home with Cora and Emory. During the early part of the evening the couple sat on the stoop and conversed. At times there seemed to be a discussion, in which the girl was harsh and indifferent, while Emory’s manner was pleading and conciliatory.
As the evening grew cool Cora arose to go into the house for a wrap. Emory evidently thought that she was trying to evade him for he asked her not to go, but without explaining she ran into the house. Emory became wild with rage and when she came out there were hot words in which she was heard to say that he could not dictate to her. In an instant Emory had picked up a piece of plank and struck the girl a terrible blow on the shoulder and head. As she sank upon the stoop with the blood gushing from a ghastly wound, the boys on the lawn rushed forward but Emory swung the club about his head and shrieked, ”Get out, or I'll kill you.” Panic stricken they fled, but as they turned to look, saw Emory strike the poor victim awful blows upon the head with a piece of a round fence rail about two feet long and four inches in diameter.
The girl was heard to shriek once as the fiend struck her and that was all. Mrs. Sarah Baker, a near neighbor, was the first to arrive on the scene. The girl was not quite dead, but expired a few minutes after the distracted mother arrived. She did not regain consciousness. The back of her head was literally crushed in by the terrible blows from the heavy club; there was a ghastly wound on the right side of her head, and the blow on the forehead had inflicted a wound which would of itself have been fatal and had broken the bridge of her nose. The ugly weapons with which the murder was committed lay in the yard covered with blood.
An alarm was given and a party started in pursuit of the murderer, who fled north across the fields and through woods. Threats of lynching were made, and had he then been caught he would undoubtedly have been strung up to the nearest tree. He succeeded in eluding his pursuers, and the next morning, went for protection, to Officer Prussia, of Gaines, told his story and gave himself up. The officer procured a rig, took him to Albion and delivered him to Sheriff Searle, to whom he confessed his crime, and said: ‘‘I have killed the sweetest girl who ever lived. I loved her desperately, and killed her because she was ugly to me."
Emory, the murdered, was born in the town of Carlton and has lived in this county all his life. Last July he engaged as a farm hand for Mrs. Mills, in the northeast part of the town of Ridgeway, and after working for her until April 1st, he hired out to James Rutherford, a neighboring farmer, but owing to some difficulty, only remained until week before last. Since that time he has lived in the family of William GRIMES and also with Elmer Axtell, both of whom are neighbors to Mr. Rutherford. He has been married but he and his wife have not lived together for some years.
Tuesday night Emory was taken before Justice Ramsdale, of Albion, and entered a plea of not guilty to the crime of murder, and his examination will be held as soon as the coroner's jury shall have completed their labors. A post mortem examination was made and Coroner Munson, after empaneling a jury, adjourned the inquest until tomorrow (Friday) morning at ten o'clock. The funeral of the murdered girl will take (place) this afternoon at two o’clock.

The body of Frank GRIMES, 65, of 905 Church street, Medina, was taken from Glenwood lake Monday morning, more than seven days after he had disappeared. The condition of the body when firemen drew it to the bank near Glenwood avenue, indicated it had been in the water during that time. Dr. Lawrence F. Waters, coroner, intimated that he would probably issue a verdict of accidental death. He was last seen on October 8. Police were notified last week of his absence. A call to the police Monday morning informed them that a body has been seen by Walter Linczyuski, 16, of Glenwood avenue, floating toward the dam near the southern point in the lake.
He is survived by his wife, Emma; four brothers, Charles of Yates; Robert of Ridgeway; Gardner of Waterport and Walter of Appleton, and a sister, Mrs. FOSS of Kent.

Kenyonville - Mrs. Hattie Belle GRIMES, 81, of this community, died last night at Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital in Albion where she had been a patient for nearly a week. A resident of Kenyonville most of her lifetime, she was taken seriously ill shortly before Christmas. She was a member of the Unity Class of the Methodist Church here.
Surviving are her husband, Richard; three sons, William of Lyndonville, Orin of Fletcher Chapel, and Richard, Jr. of Kenyonville. Another son, Otis, died over a year ago. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sarabelle LENNOX of Buffalo, and Mrs. Nellie YOUNG of Ridge Rd. at West Gaines; one sister, Mrs. Jessie BOYD of Medina; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also several nieces and nephews.
Mr. and Mrs. Grimes were congratulated by many friends and relatives last February when they observed their 60th wedding anniversary. Services will be held at the Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion, at 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Gordon Kurtz of Waterport officiating. Burial has not been arranged.

Lyndonville - Funeral services were held at the Smythe Funeral Home here this afternoon for Mrs. Linda GRIMES, 75, whose death occurred Saturday morning, August 16, at her home 66 West Avenue, as a result of a cerebral hemorrage suffered on the Wednesday previous. The Rev. Richard Billingsley of the Presbyterian Church officiated and burial was in Lynhaven Cemetery.
Mrs. GRIMES was born November 22, 1876 on the Murdock Road, the daughter of the late Levi and Emily MICKLE MOSHER. On November 24, 1897 she married L. W. GRIMES and they have resided in their home at 66 West Avenue all but two years of their married lives. In November 1947 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Mrs. GRIMES was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was active in the Women’s Guild and the Worthwhile Class of the church and the Sunday School. She was a member of Lyndonia Rebekah Lodge and served the lodge as noble grand. She also served as a district deputy of the district at one time.
Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Frank BROWN of Gasport a grandson, Larry BROWN, also of Gasport and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, Harriet, he is survived by his six daughters, Mrs. Harold SOUTHCOTT, Mrs. Frank MAREK and Miss Geraldine GRIMES of Medina; Mrs. Harry BROPST and Miss Dorothy GRIMES of Kent and Mrs. Albert PERUZZINI of Waterport; three sons, Gordon also of Medina and Donald of Kent and Pvt Theodore GRIMES of Fort Devans, Mass., two sisters, Mrs. Bertram YOUNG of Albion and Mrs. Jewel LENNOX of Buffalo, two brothers, Orris and Richard GRIMES of Kenyonville; his father, Richard GRIMES Sr. of Albion; twelve grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His first wife, the late Margaret WOOSTER, died nine years ago.

Harriet P. GRINNELL, born in West Barre, N. Y., 1831 the daughter of Talithe and Sylvester PATTERSON. She attended school at Cary Seminary, Oakfield, N.Y., and at Ypsilanta Academy, Ill. She was a teacher for a good many years; teaching in the states of New York, Illinois and Michigan. While a teacher at Ypsilanta academy she had the pleasure of hearing Abraham LINCOLN and Stephen A. DOUGLASS.
Mrs. GRINNELL was very active, taking long walks, making her garden, sewing, knitting, crocheting and doing various other kinds of work. Early in life she cultivated a taste for good books. Her small library contains some of the best. She read with deep interest the news papers and magazines. An ardent W. C. T. U. woman, she cast her vote for the prohibition candidate. A delightful letter writer and a rare conversationalist was she with her wealth of facts, experiences and past reminisences. Although not a member of any church she was a conscientious student of the word of God and an earnest, broad-minded christian.

He came to this country at the age of two years from his native Russia and for the past 30 years had conducted a second-hand business in Alabama.
No surviving relatives are known here. Funeral services are to be held tomorrow at 2 p. m. from the Thibault Funeral Home, with the Rev. Melvin E. PETTIT, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby.

Mrs. Maria B. GRUMMOND, widow of the late Munson GRUMMOND, died last evening at her home on West Center street, aged nearly 77 years. Mrs. Grummond had been in poor health for some years, but her condition had been considered critical only since Sunday. It is believed that a stroke of apoplexy was the immediate cause of her death.
Mrs. GRUMMOND was born in the Jackson homestead west of Medina and had lived in and near Medina ever since. She was educated in the common schools supplemented with a course in the Phipps seminary of Albion, and was a woman of much culture and refinement. Early in life she became a member of the Medina M. E. Church and had been a faithful attendant and earnest in the work of the church. Of an attractive personality, kindly and thoughtful she had a host of friends who will mourn her loss.
The surviving family consists of one daughter, Mrs. Orin CURSON, of this place, one son, L. M. GRUMMOND, of Brooklyn, and one brother, Frank JACKSON, of this place. The funeral will take place from the house on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, Rev. W. A. Harris, of the M. E. Church, Officiating. Burial at Boxwood Cemetery.

The death of R. Munson GRUMMON whose serious illness was mentioned in our last issue, occurred on Friday, March 29, 1889. Deceased was 53 years of age and had resided in Medina nearly all of his life.
Besides his wife, Mariah B. [JACKSON] GRUMMON, whom he married in 1858, in Medina, NY, is a son, Lewis B. GRUMMON; a daughter Lizzie D. GRUMMON.
By direction of Health Officer MUNSON, who decided the Mr. GRUMMON 's death was caused by malignant diphtheria the funeral was quietly held Sunday, March 31, 1889 at 9 a.m. Rev. C. W. WINCHESTER, officiating in a brief service, at the GRUMMON residence on Center Street. The remains were deposited in Boxwood Cemetery, Medina, NY.

On July 21 1862, Rufus Munson (GRUMMON), enrolled at Medina, NY to serve three years; as Private, Company A, 8th Light Artillery. August 11, 1862 as Second Lieutenant. Mustered out with Company, August 10, 1865, at Petersburg, VA.

Died at his residence on Park Avenue, Medina, Marc h 1, 1895 of infirmities of age, Stephen Talmage GRUMMON, at the advanced age of four score and four years.
Mr. GRUMMON was born in Saratoga County, NY in 1811 and in 1842, came to Medina, NY, which has been his place of residence until called to his home above. He was by occupation, a maker of boots and shoes, and was ever attentive of his calling until failing health compelled him to cease his labors. He was a very quiet and worthy citizen, a kind neighbor and friend and a very acceptable member of the Episcopal Church and a regular attended of the same until ill health prevented. He had been a member of the church of choice for fifty-four years; also a very worthy member of Medina, NY. Lodge No. 336 F. and A.M., for the past forty-two years.
He leaves an aged wife and two daughters - Mrs. Sarah TOOMBS and Miss Delia GRUMMON - who so kindly cared for the aged one in his declining years, to mourn his departure.
The funeral service was held on Sunday at 2 p.m., Rev. Mr. MacFARLANE, officiating, the Masonic fraternity having charge of the same. The remains were deposited in Boxwood Cemetery.

ALBION - Andrew GRZYWACA (GRZYWACZ), 58, of the Gaines Basin Road, died in Mt. Morris Sunday. He leaves his wife, Gizela; two daughters, Mrs. Dolores GIARRIZZO and Helen GRZYWACA, both of Albion; a son, Thaddeus of Albion and a brother and sister in Poland.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home at East State and Ingersoll Street. A service will be held at 10 am. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church, with burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

The death of Mrs. Agnes GURNEY, mother of Mrs. Josephine KRUPA, occurred at the residence, 111 Laurel Street, Medina, early Saturday morning, after a lingering illness. She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. STARKWEATHER of Albion; Mrs. Josephine KRUPA, Medina; Mrs. Margaret CHERRY of Detroit and Miss Frances SAWRAK of Herkimer, N.Y.; three sons: Albert and John GURNEY of Albion, Michael GURNEY of Portland, Oregon; also 28 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Albion, Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock. Burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Albion.
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Agnes GURNEY, of 111 Laurel Street held yesterday from St. Mary’s Church at Albion, were largely attended with many beautiful floral pieces. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery there.
Bearers were Karol Kisezak, Frank Malinoski, Joseph Graczek, James Nowicki, Max Nowicki and Andrew Nowicki.

Albion - Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow in St. Mary’s Assumption Church here for the late Albert GURNEY, 64, whose death occurred in the Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital Sunday a short time after admission. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Leslie MILLARD, Mrs. Raymond MILLARD and Mrs. Alex MACHIEWICZ of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. William WOLFE of North Attleboro, Mass.; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary STARKWEATHER of Albion, Mrs. John KRUPA of Medina and Mrs. Frances STAWIAK of Herkimer, and a brother, Michael of Oregon.

Mrs. Frances B. GURNEY, 52, died in her home on Densmore Road yesterday after a long illness. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Albion, and of the Rosary Society of that church.
Funeral will be held in the home at 8:30 a.m. Friday and in St. Mary’s Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Albert GURNEY; four daughters, Mrs. Leslie MILLARD and Mrs. Ray MILLARD of Detroit, Mich., and the Misses Gertrude and Charlotte GURNEY of Albion, two sisters, Mrs. Martha CELMER of Albion and Mrs. Mary NOVICKI of Kent; two brothers, Paul and James BRUSKI of Wickliffe.

Mary Elizabeth GURSSLIN, aged 61 years, wife of Henry GURSSLIN, died Monday morning at her residence on Watson avenue, Middleport. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock from the house, Rev. W. M. Young officiating. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at West Shelby.
The deceased is survived by her husband; two sons, Grant, at home and Reuben, at Buffalo, and one daughter, Mrs. William RUMBLE, Medina; also two sisters, Mrs. Adeline PAGE, at home, and Mrs. CALEB, at East Shelby; and two brothers, Emory RANSOM, at Buffalo, and Seth RANSOM, at East Shelby.
Mr. and Mrs. Seth RANSOM and Mr. and Mrs. George CALEB attended the funeral of their sister, Mrs. Henry GURSSLIN, of Middleport, Wednesday p.m. Interment in West Shelby (Mt. Pleasant) cemetery. The deceased was a former resident of this place. She leaves her husband; one daughter, Mrs. William RUMBLE, of Medina; two sons, Reuben, of Buffalo, and Grant, of Middleport; her aged mother, Mrs. Adeline RANSOM, of this place, besides several sisters and two brothers, to mourn their loss.

Adam John GURZENSKI, 76, who resided with his son, Louis, at 407 E. Oak Orchard, died yesterday at the Casey Nursing Home. He was born in Albion and had resided in Medina for the past 35 years. Mr. GURZENSKI had been employed at the East Avenue Foundry, Central Foundry and the H. J. Heinz Co. His wife, Hattie (OLSZEWSKI, died in 1948. He was a Communicant of the Sacred Heart Church and a member of its Holy Name Society, Sacred Heart Society and the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Esther) DOMAN of Camarillo, Calif.; two sons Louis and Edward of Medina; four grandchildren. Also, two sisters, Mrs. John (Katherine) JASNESKI of Auburn, and Mrs. Joseph (Helen) KWIETNESKI of Rochester and two brothers, Joseph and Izydor of Albion. Also several nieces and nephews.
Prayer services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Thursday from the Gulinski Funeral Home, 420 Eagle St., followed by a funeral mass at 9 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. A. Borowiak officiating. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Holy Name Society will meet at the Funeral Home at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday to recite the rosary.

Mrs. Hattie S. GURZENSKI, wife of Adam GURZENSKI, 407 East Oak Orchard Street died this morning in the Medina Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since April 5th. She was born in Poland Oct. 15, 1886. A communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Medina, she was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Mary’s Church, Albion. Mrs. GURZENSKI was also a member of the Lincoln Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Esther) DOMOJ of Hatboro, Pa.; two sons, Edward and Louis GURZENSKI of Medina; two grandchildren; and six sisters, Mrs. Jennie CRANE, Mrs. Mary CELMER, Mrs. Francis GURNEY and Mrs. Stanley PELGA, all of Albion, and Mrs. Michael LITTLEBETTER and Mrs. Michael KAMAPICKAS, both of Rochester.
Funeral services will be held from her late residence, 407 East Oak Orchard Street, at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning, and at 9:30 o’clock at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mrs. Frieda (HOFFENBERG) GUTTENBERG, 48, wife of Max GUTTENBERG, 1200 South Main Street, died early this morning at the Medina Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born in Lithuania, she came to this country as a child, residing in Rochester, where she attended school. At the time of her marriage in 1926, she moved to Medina.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Herschel; and a daughter, Lily, both of Medina, also four sisters, Mrs. Max OSTROFF and Mrs. Morris GARELICK of Rochester, Mrs. Hyman SEEMAN of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Abraham GALLEN of Albuquerque, N. M.
Funeral was held this afternoon at 2 p.m. from Parsky Funeral Home, Rochester, with burial in Rochester. The family, who request that no flowers be sent, will remain for a week at 26 Hoeltzer Street, Rochester.

He is survived by three sons, Louis and Frank of Medina, John of New Bedford, Mass.; three daughters, Mrs. Agnes DUJENSKI of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Josephine SIEDLECKI and Catherine at home. Eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a. m. from the Cleary Funeral home at 10 o'clock in the Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Anthony KRAWCZK will officiate and burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery
