Mary Josephine Modlo, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Modlo of Worthy Ave., died early this morning at Medina Memorial Hospital. Besides her parents, she is survived by one brother, Mark; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Flower, and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Modlo. Burial services will take place tomorrow morning at 9:30 in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mrs. Bridget MOFFATT died Wednesday morning at her home on Gulf street after a long illness. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Mary MOFFATT and one son, John MOFFATT. The funeral will be held Friday morning in St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the O’Reilly Funeral Home, East Center Street, for John J. Moffett (MOFFATT), 71, whose frozen body was taken from the raceway of the power gates of the No. 1 power house just off Erin Road, of the Buffalo Niagara Eastern Power Co.; on Friday afternoon. Noticed by employees of the Power Co. who were about to clear the gates at 3 p.m. Friday the body was frozen to the gate below the surface of the water. Members of the Medina Fire and Police Department, with the assistance of the Power Co. removed the body from the ice. Coroner L. F. WATERS issued a certificate of death by drowning. He said the body had apparently been in the water since approximately February 14, the day he disappeared from his home.z
Medina police were notified on February 18, that Mr. MOFFETT had not returned to his home, 160 Gulf Street, which he left on the preceding Thursday. He was scheduled to return to Mount Morris Sanitarium on that day. He had been a patient at the hospital since last fall.
Born in Medina August 2, 1874, he resided in the house in which he was born his entire lifetime. Surviving is one sister, Miss Mary MOFFATT, with whom he resided.

Mrs. Josephine MOLAPSCZY, 89, widow of Francis MOLAPSCZY, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leon BEYER, Hoffman Road, Friday night after a lingering illness. Born In Poland, she came to this country fifty-five years ago. Her husband died twenty years ago. Mrs. MOLAPSCZY was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Rosary Society of the church.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Leon BEYER, Mrs. Mary HOFFMAN and Mrs. William MENDEL of Medina, and Mrs. Josephine WAGNER and Mrs. Lewis ZIELINSKI of Rochester; five sons Stephen SMITH of New York City, William, Michael and Lawrence MOLAPSCZY of Rochester, and John MOLAPSCZY of Albion; also thirty grandchildren and twenty-five greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 o’clock from Thibault’s Funeral Parlor, South Main Street and at 9 o’clock at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

He was the widower of May Belle CLUTE, 1st wife who died in 1933; widower of Genevieve HUNT, 2nd wife who died in 1937, and is survived by his widow 3rd wife Blanche McCULLOUGH; also survived by 5 children, 3 stepchildren, and 11 grandchildren. He loved his home in Albion NY. Several grandchildren were born at his home also.

ALBION - Americo MONACELLI, who at 76 has actually celebrated only 18 birthdays anniversaries since he was born on Feb. 29, 1884, and could note his birthday anniversary only every fourth year except in 1900, died in Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital yesterday (Dec. 1, 1960) after a long illness. He had been a patient at the hospital for only several days.
He was born in Alfedena, in the province of Aquila, Italy, and came to the United States at the age of 19, working in stone quarries in the area of Pittsburgh, PA, for 10 years before coming to Albion.
He worked in sandstone in this area as a block breaker until 1927, then for 17 years worked for what is now the tomato-processing plant of Hunts Food & Industries, although it then was Snider Packing Corp. Then for a decade or so he worked for the Village of Albion Street Department, prior to his returement.
He was a member of Court Marconi of Foresters of America, and for many years had been a member of the Loyal Wing Club, an organization of former residents of Alfedena, Italy, and their descendants. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Tersilia De LUCA MONACELLI, with whom he celebrated his golden wedding anniversary about a year ago; two sons, Tulleo and Fred, both of Detroit, Mich., and four daughter, Sister Mary Karen of the Sisters of Mercy Order in Buffalo, Mrs. John D. CONDON of Albony, Mrs. Leonard GMINSKI of Webster, and Mrs. Richard COLEMAN of Rochester, as well as six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Christopher Funeral Home at 354 W State St., Albion, where the Holy Name Society will hold a service at 7:30 p.m. today, and where a prayer service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, followed by a requiem Mass at 11:45 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Anunziata MONACELLI, 56, died at her home at 348 West Academy Street Wednesday, August 23rd. Born in Alfedena, Italy she was a resident here for over 40 years. She is survived by her husband, Pasquale; four daughters, Edna, Levia, Erma, Olga, and a son, Albert, all of Albion; a sister in Rome, Italy. Aurelio MONACELLI, 66, well known as "Riley" MONACELLI when he lived in this section, died in Detroit, Monday, after a year of illness. He had made his home there for a number of years.
Born at Alfedena, Italy, he had come to Fancher about 45 years ago and worked as a stone cutter. With his brother-in-law, the late Camille Passarelli of Albion, working for the late Matt Ryan, he had cut and trimmed much of the sandstone for which local quarries were noted and which was used in the construction of many Catholic churches and other buildings in Western New York.
He leaves his wife, two sons and two daughters, all of Detroit; three sisters, Mrs Florence PASSARELLI of Albion and two married in Detroit; two brothers, Fiore of Detroit and Frank N. MONACELLI of Albion, who left yesterday to attend the funeral service, and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service is being held this morning in Detroit and burial will be there.

Death Parts Couple After 57 years of Married Life
The funeral service for Mrs. Domenica MONACELLI who died this morning at her
home at 3 Clarendon St. after a short illness, is to be Friday morning at
St. Joseph's Church of which she was a member. Burial will take place at
St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Born October 23, 1858, at Alfedena, Italy, she was the last surviving member of a family of nine children. Her marriage to Stanislao MONACELLI took place at Alfedena in September, 1879, which was her home until 1909. It was at this time she and her children came to Albion where the father had preceded them 13 years before.
She leaves her husband; four sons, Frank A., Guido, Leo, and Louis A.. MONACELLI, all of Albion; five daughters, Mrs. Flora Papponetti, eldest of her family, in Italy, and Mrs. Henry NENNI, Mrs. Rudolph NENNI, Mrs. John ROSATO, and Mrs. James SPADA, all of Albion; fourty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Albion - Frank MONACELLI, 58, an Albion businessman for many years, died yesterday en route to the Arnold Gregory Hospital here after a heart attack in his home earlier in the day.
He was a veteran of World War I, a long-time member of Albion Sheret Post, American Legion, and its band; the Knights of Columbus, the Loyal Wing Club, and for two years had served as chief ranger of the Albion Lodge, Foresters of America. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and a member of its Holy Name Society. He had retired from the restaurant business here several years ago because of ill health.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, and a son, Frank MONACELLI, Jr., both of Albion, and another son, Robert MONACELLI of Chanute Field Air Base; two daughters, Mrs. Elois SOPER of Glenfield, N.Y., and Miss Arlene MONACELLI of Barker; and two sisters, Mrs. Terenza DiBARTHLOMEW of Detroit and Mrs. Vincense VALENTINE of Italy.
Services will be at 9:30 a. m. Thursday at the Christopher Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. Members of the Sheret Post Band will serve as bearers and the Sheret Post firing squad will officiate at the burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Albion - Guido MONACELLI, one of the original organizers od the Albion Federal Savings and Loan Association and a supermarket owner, died yesterday at Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital, Albion, after a long ilness. He was 76 years old
Mr. MONACELLI who lived at 5 Clarendon St., Albion, was the owner and operator of a grocery store for the past 55 years. He enlarged the business from a small store to a supermarker in 1952. He served as director, treasurer and vice-president of the Albion Federal Savings and Loan Association, and was a member of the board of visitors of the state Agricultural and Industrial School at Industry.
During World War II, he was chairman of war bond sales of Orleans County residents of Italian origin, and was vice-chairman of the General County Committee. He was a member of St Joseph's Church and the Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus, where he served as treasurer for many years. He was a charter member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society of the church and served as treasurer for that group.

Albion - Peter G. MONACELLI of 339 Childs St., operator of a sandstone quarry in this year for over a half a century, died last night in the Rose Villa Nursing Home here (May 3, 1962) after a long illness. A native of Alfredena, Italy, he came to America as a youth of 17, and worked in stone quarries here fll his life.
He spent his early years here employed in quarries, then operated his own quarry for two decades at the Goodrich quarry on East State Street heee, and in Hindsburg and on Densmore Road, east of here. He then operated the Matt Ryan Quarry on Route 31, just west of the Village of Albion for four year or five years before taking over the Eagle Harbor quarry that he operated for over a quarter of a century, most recently in partnership with a son, Gregory. A few years ago that quarry was the only stone quarry producing medina sandstone in Orleans County, although at the time around the turn of the century there had been around 50 of them. The Eagle Harbor quarry was abandoned two years ago when operations were shifted to a former Hulberton quarry and later to the former Butts Road quarry here. This year there are three quarries in operation.
He was a member of the Modern Woodman of America, and formerly a member of the Loyal Wing Club and Forresters of America, He was a member of St. Joseph's Church and its Holy Name Society.
Besides his son, he leaves his widow, Mrs. Frances PASSARELL MONACELLI, and a daughter, Mrs. Irving LOURETTE, all of Albion; two brothers, Horace of Albion and Jeddie of Chicago, Ill.; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary several years ago.

Another veteran of the G.A.R. has gone to his rest. James Monnchan (MONAHAN) quietly passed away Sunday evening, aged seventy-three years. He was a member of the 164th N.Y. Regiment. On account of total disability he has drawn a high pension. The funeral at St. Mary's Church, Medina on Wednesday morning, was attended by the Lyndonville Post, in a body.

Dennis J. MONTGOMERY, ten and one-half month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas MONTGOMERY, 104 Hedley Street, died yesterday in the Children’s Hospital, Buffalo, following an illness of four days.
Besides his parents, the child is survived by his grandparents, Mrs. Gertrude BRADLEY and Mr. and Mrs. Louis MONTGOMERY. Private funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 9:30 o’clock at the residence, with the Rev. Henry B. SHAW, pastor of St. Mary’s Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Deceased had resided in Medina since childhood. The funeral occurred on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. W. A. Harris officiating. The interment was in Boxwood Cemetery.

The funeral of the late Alethe MONTGOMERY, who died Sunday morning, aged 23 years, was held this morning at eight o’clock at St. Mary’s church, the Rev. McDonna officiating. A large circle of friends of the deceased attended, showing the respect and esteem in which she was held. The floral tokens were most beautiful and numerous, many being of exquisite design, and were silent tributes to her youth, purity and womanhood.
The members of the Daily Journal staff, the Daily Journal carrier boys attended the funeral in a body. The bearers were: Fred Fox, Edward Lowery, William Collins, Martin McKernan, Frank Lenahan, and John Mackey. The remains were placed in the vault at Boxwood.
Miss Alethe MONTGOMERY, aged 23 years, died at her home, 193 State street, Sunday morning after an illness of but a week, death being due to an acute intestinal attack. Deceased was an efficient employee at the Journal office and a very estimable young lady with a wide circle of friends. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Anna MONTGOMERY, a brother, Louis, of Medina, and two sisters, Mrs. John BANNAN, of Buffalo, and Mrs. Frank BRUNNER, of this village.

Robert W. MONTGOMERY, an old resident of this place, died at his residence on Gwinn Street on Sunday afternoon. Mr. MONTGOMERY was born in Ireland October12, 1843. At the age of 8 years he came with his parents to this country and located in Medina which has been his home ever since. About five years ago he was severely injured while at work on the Orient Street bridge of the New York Central Railroad. The injuries received at that time were the cause of his death.
He was a Civil War veteran, having served three years in the 17th New York Battery. Mr. MONTGOMERY was an honest and industrious man, and was well like by all who knew him.
He is survived by a widow (Mary ADAMS), five daughters, May, Ethel, Inez, Hazel & Berenice, two sons, Hugh W. and LeRoy A. MONTGOMERY, all of this place and one stepson, W. J. HAMMOND of Alliance, Ohio.
To all those who assisted during the illness and death of Mr. Montgomery, the bereaved family wish to extend their thanks. The funeral occurred at the family residence on Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. F. S. Parkhurst, Ph. D, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, officiated. Hood Post No. 91, G.A.R. of which deceased had long been a member, attended in a body. Interment was in Boxwood Cemetery.

Thomas MONTGOMERY, an old resident of this village, died Saturday evening after a long illness with consumption, aged sixty-nine years. A wife (Elizabeth HAMILTON) and three sons survive him. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, at his late home on Gwinn street, and the remains interred in Boxwood Cemetery.

Thomas MONTGOMERY died at his home on State street at three o’clock this morning as the result of a tumor on the brain. He was fifty-one years of age.
Deceased leaves a widow (Anna MORIARTY), three daughters, Mrs. John BANNAN, Mrs. Frank BRUNNER and Alethe MONTGOMERY , and one son, Louis MONTGOMERY , all of this place, three brothers, William MONTGOMERY , and James LATTIMER, of Medina, and Lewis LATTIMER, of Albion, and one sister, Anna LATTIMER, of this place.

William MONTGOMERY, of State Street, for the past three months employed as a switchman by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, was killed while at work in this company's yards at Dunkirk yesterday afternoon. MONTGOMERY met death at the Erie crossing. Attempting to board a switch engine that was backing toward him, he lost his footing and fell under the wheels, which passed over his body, cutting him in two.
The deceased has always made his home in Medina and of late returned here every weekend. He lived with Mr. James LATIMER of State Street, when here. He is survived by a wife, lda ARNETT MONTGOMERY, who with their three small children were spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John ARNETT at Millville; a brother, Hugh of Philadelphia; an uncle, James LATIMER, and an aunt, Miss Anna LATIMER of State Street. The deceased was 32 years of age.,p. An ambulance left Medina this morning to get the remains, which will be brought to the home of his aunt on State Street, where funeral services will be held.
The funeral of the late William MONTGOMERY, who died at Dunkirk Friday, will be held at St. John's Church at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday after noon, the Rev. Gilbert A. Shaw will officiate. Interment at Boxwood Cemetery.
The deceased is survived by a wife and three children, two brothers, Hugh W. of Pittsburg, and Howard H., who is in the U.S. Navy and at present in China, an aunt, Miss Anna LATTIMER and an uncle, James LATTIMER.

Mrs. Cromwell D. MONTROSE, 68 years old, wife of Cromwell D. MONTROSE, secretary of the Detroit Lead Pipe works, died at her home, 46 West Ferry avenue, at 9 o'clock Friday night. Had she lived until January 16, Mr. and Mrs. MONTROSE would have celebrated their golden weddding.
Mrs. MONTROSE came to Detroit with her husband about 30 years ago from Medina, N. Y., where they were married. Here she became a member of the Woodward avenue Presbyterian church, and of the Review Club, interesting herself greatly in charity. Her method of helping others was unusual. Instead of contributing money to charity funds she searched until she found two families whose members were incapable of adequately providing for themselves. That was 20 years ago, and since that time she has always been the main support of at least two such families.
About two years ago, a fall broke Mrs. MONTROSE's arm, the confinement incident to its healing undermining her health. She and Mr. MONTROSE traveled extensively through the east in an effort to better her condition, but she never fully recovered.
Surviving Mrs. MONTROSE are her husband and two nieces, Mrs. Edith CLARKE MOORE, of Asheville, N. C., and Mrs. T. K. LAWRENCE. Funeral services will he held Saturday afternoon in Hamilton chapel. --Detroit Free Press.
The body was brought to Medina Sunday and funeral services held Monday afternoon at the residence of John T. Miller, Rev. T. A. Kilbourne officiating. The interment was at Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Lyman MOONE died last week of pneumonia, aged seventy-nine. His funeral was held at Clark Parson’s on Sunday, conducted by Mr. Holt, pastor of the Baptist Church, of which deceased was a member.

The death of Mary OWENS MOONEY, Wife of Thomas MOONEY of 313 Park avenue, occurred early Sunday morning after a short illness. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her loss, a grandson Thomas SHELDON, two brothers Thomas and Edward OWENS and two sisters, the Misses Alice and Kate OWENS.
The funeral will be held from the home Wednesday morning at 8:30 and at St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Funeral Set for Local Girl, 15, Killed by Coal Gas
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., for 15-year-old Carol Jean MOORE, of Bates Rd., a Medina High School freshman who was killed tragically at her home Saturday by coal gas coming from a dislodged furnace pipe.
The young girl was discovered lying on the kitchen floor of the Bates Rd. home by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon MOORE as they returned from work at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, and an investigation has disclosed that the coal gas exploded in the basement furnace and blew off a length of pipe. The girl was home alone at the time. Her mother, employed at the Newell Shirt Co., and her father, employed at East Avenue Fuel Co., had left for work at 8 a.m.
Dr. Walter Shifton of Albion, coroner, issued a certificate of accidental death by asphyxiation. Troopers Robert ENNIS and Martin WESCOTT of the Orleans substation of State Police investigated with Trooper Donald SMITH of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Friends are to be received at the funeral home tonight, with services scheduled at 2 p.m. tomorrow with the Rev. Henry H. Hagenah of Millville Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Bates Road Cemetery. The dead girl was born in Buffalo, May 16, 1942, and was a member of the Annie M. Pond Constellation of Junior Stars of OES. A brother, Gerre, was married recently and expected to arrive home from a honeymoon over the week end.
Survivors include her father and mother, Gordon and Winifred BEGOLD(?) MOORE; one brother, Gerre K. MOORE; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry BEGOLE of Bates Rd.; several aunts and uncles.

Gaines - Mrs. Charlotte L. MOORE, 73, died yesterday in her home here, where she had lived for the past 35 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Albion.
Friends may call at her home where the Rev. Earle I. HAMLIN of the Albion First Presbyterian Church will officiate at services at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Albion.
She is survived by two daughters Mrs. Albert MANCE of Rochester and Mrs. Joseph CRADDOCK of Albion; seven sisters, Mrs. Roland PLAYFAIR and Mrs. Herbert LADD of Rochester, Mrs. George SWEETMAN and Mrs. Samuel SWEETMAN of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Joseph LAWRENCE of Washington, D. Mrs. Delia MOORE, widow of Aurelius MOORE, passed away Friday morning last at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. BLOOD, on Oak Orchard street. Her age was eighty-six years. Besides her daughter, two sisters survive -- Mrs. George SNAITH of this place and Mrs. Kate WILDEY, of Rochester. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon, Rev. W. A. Harris officiating. The interment was at Boxwood Cemetery.

Ellen KENNAN MOORE, sister of George KENNAN, died April 2d in Holmesburgh, Pa. The funeral was at Norwalk, Ohio. Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. MOORE lived at one time in Medina and will be remembered by many of the older residents of the village. Until a few months before her death, she was an active member of the Women's Literary Society of Holmesburgh, and had there and in Philadelphia a very large circle of friends. Although eighty-seven years of age, she retained to the last a keen interest in literature and world affairs.

The death of Mrs. Emeline COPELAND MOORE, widow of Frank MOORE of Hulberton, occurred yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. Royce SAWYER, 171 South Main Street, Albion, after a brief illness. Mrs. MOORE was born in Hulberton August 11, 1850. She was the daughter of Samuel and Emeline COPELAND, Hulberton, and the granddaughter of Joseph BUDD, founder of Hulberton.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. SAWYER in Albion; Mrs. Ralph CALLAWAY, Kansas City; and Mrs. Luther GORDON, Brockport; one son, Frank Copeland MOORE, Hulberton; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place from Mrs. SAWYER's home at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon, EST.

The death of Frank MOORE, aged 47 years, occurred about 11:30 o'clock this morning at the Medina hospital following an operation for appendicitis about four weeks ago. The deceased is survived by a wife (Mabel V. LEWIS) and one sister of Middleport. The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
The funeral of the late Frank MOORE will be held from his late home Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock, the Rev. M. E. Van Nostrand will officiate. Interment at West Ridgeway Cemetery.

The wife of Joseph T. MOORE, of Oakfield, N. Y., formerly; and for many years, a resident of Medina, committed suicide on Friday last. The particulars are given by a correspondence as follows:
Our village was shocked on Friday to hear that Mrs. Louise Moore, wife of J. T. Moore, a produce dealer here, had shot and killed herself. Her son, Charles, aged twelve years, came home from school at noon and not finding his mother in the lower part of the house, went up stairs, and in a sleeping room was horrified to find her lying on the floor in a pool of blood. He called her by name, and as the truth flashed upon him he ran up the street weeping and notified his father and Dr. Price. Coroner Pugsley was called and viewed the body. Mrs. MOORE was found on the floor on her back with a quilt under her and a pillow under her head with a small 32 caliber rifle lying by her side. It was found that the ball penetrated her left breast, passing through and striking the wall, and it was found on the floor. Mrs. MOORE had arrayed her self in white, and that the act was the result of deliberation seemed obvious from the circumstances. There are three children, Mabel, aged 16, Charles, aged 12, and Sadie, age 3(8?). Coroner Pugsley summoned the following jury: C. H. Chamberlin, B. J. Chapman, J. L. Dunham, S. M. Calkins, 0. Root, J. Gibson, D. J. Stedman, J. F. Filley, B. Bliss, F. E. Wright. The jury viewed the body and adjourned to six o’clock at J. J. Stedman's office. The inquest disclosed the fact that the couple had not lived happily together, and that Mr. MOORE had been abusive and had ill-treated his wife till she was unable to stand it any longer. A letter found by the coroner addressed to her children left no doubt in the mind of the jury as to the cause of the act. The jury, after deliberating a short time, returned a verdict "that Mrs. MOORE took her own life, produced by abuse and ill-treatment of her husband.
- An Oakfield dispatch states that intense excitement still prevails in that village over the suicide of Mrs. MOORE. An indignation meeting was held on Monday evening when resolutions condemning MOORE and Miss JOHNSON, (the third party in the unfortunate scandal), also expressing sympathy for the bereaved family, were adopted, and a warrant charging MOORE with assaulting his wife on the day she ended her life was sworn out. Another dispatch from Buffalo states that MOORE’s wife’s relatives in that city have caused his arrest, on the strength of the letter she left, stating that he had abused her.

Mrs. Mary MOORE died at her home on Park Avenue yesterday after a short illness. The death of Mrs. MOORE who has resided in Medina all her life and who is well and most favorable known in the community, comes as a shock to her host of friends as her illness was of so short duration. Mrs. MOORE was a lady of prominence in the Catholic church societies, charitable and a worker in the church with which she was affiliated.
Deceased is survived by her husband, Robert T. MOORE and an infant son (one day old), her father, Cornelius HOEY, and two brothers, James HOEY and Patrick HOEY all of this place.
The funeral services will be held from St. Mary’s church Monday morning at nine o'clock, Rev. Thomas F. Gleason officiating. The bearers are J. McGinn, M. Donovan, J. Fitzgibbons, D. Horan, J. S. Kelly and J. Sweeney.

Salem Morre(sic), 68, well known and respected citizen of this village was found dead in his home on Main street Sunday morning, April 16, 1933. The body was on the floor when found and it is presumed that Mr. MOORE had been dead several hours. The cause of his death is attributed to a stroke of apoplexy and heart failure.
Mr. MOORE was born in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada, and came to New York state when a young man. He engaged in farming until his retirement from active work several years ago, when he moved to the village. His wife died in 1911. He was a member of Lyndonville Lodge, I. 0. 0. F. , and Lyndonia Rebekah lodge. Although handicapped by total deafness the greater part of his life, Mr. MOORE was always cheerful and had a host of friends who mourn his passing.
The surviving relatives are two daughters, Mrs. Dallas WHITNEY of Buffalo, and Mrs. Elmer WULF of Yates, also one grandson. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, Rev. William A. Herzog, officiating. Burial, was in Lynhaven Cemetery, where services were conducted by the Odd Fellows. The bearers were M. F. Joy, Clyde Brinsmaid, Frank Lott, E. W. Barry, James Stroyan and B. V. Thomas.

James MORELAND, Sr., 78, died at the home of his daughter Mrs. George HOYT, Albion, Monday, January 15. With the exception of the past six years when he made his home with his daughter his entire life was spent in Medina. Mr. MORELAND for a long period of time was identified with the quarry and foundry industry in Medina. For several years he was employed by the New York State Highway Department.
He leaves one son, James E. MORELAND, Jr., of Medina, and a daughter, Mrs. HOYT of Albion; three grandchildren, Addison HOYT, Mrs. Margaret DENNISTON and Mrs. Dorothy WILLIMOTT; four greatgrandchildren, James and John DENNISTON and Mary Fay and Richard WILLIMOT all of Albion, and four nieces and nephews.
The remains are resting at the home of his son on Eagle Street, Medina. Funeral services will be held at nine o’clock Thursday morning from St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Word was received Sunday evening by relatives in Medina and Lyndonville of the death on Saturday, May 30, of Howard MORGANTHALER, 75, a retired rural mail carrier. Death occurred in a hospital in New Port Richey, Fla., after a very brief illness.
Born in Town of Yates on Roosevelt Highway he was the son of Henry and Augusta PANN MORGANTHALER. In his early childhood the family moved to the vicinity of Shelby and Medina and remained there until he was a young man when they moved to Wolcott in Wayne County. Forty-eight years ago Mr. MORGANTHALER was married to Effie McQUEEN of Wolcott and the home continued there until his retirement from his work as letter carrier. Then the couple moved to New Port Richey, Fla. An only son, Leland, preceded his father in death.
Surviving besides the widow are one granddaughter, Melba, in Wolcott, and three great grandchildren, also 5 nephews and one niece; Carl EHRENREICH of Ashwood, Fred EHRENREICH of Medina, Mrs. Leonard WRIGHT of Lyndonville, Walter, Francis and Kenneth MORGANTHALER all of Williamson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 5th in the John Robinson Funeral Home in Wolcott. Burial will be in the Huron Cemetery, Wolcott.

Mrs. Amelia MORGOTT, 82, died last night at her home, 225 Highland Ave., after a long illness. She was born in Buffalo and had resided in Medina for the past 58 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Arthur MONTY of Three Rivers, N Y., Mrs. Theresa TRIMBLE and Margaret MORGOTT of Medina; also eight sons, John, William, Frank, Norman, Raymond and Charles of Medina, Howard MORGOTT of Buffalo and Edward of Rochester; one brother, Edward HOELZLE of Buffalo; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gertrude Margaret MORGOTT, 49, wife of Frank MORGOTT, 596 East Avenue, died in the Medina Memorial Hospital Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. MORGOTT had been in ill health for several months and a patient in the hospital here for the past 33 days. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., August 21, 1899, her parents were the late Thomas and Gertrude McCARTHY. She had been a resident of Medina for the past 30 years. Mrs. MORGOTT was a member of St. Mary’s Church and St. Mary’s Mothers Club.
Surviving are her husband and three sons, Frank A. Jr. (MORGOTT), of New Orleans, La., and Robert and Joseph (MORGOTT), both of Medina; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 8:30 from the O’Reilly Funeral Home, and at 9 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Miss Grace MORIARTY, daughter of Mr. John MORIARTY, died at the home of her parents on Horan street this morning, at the age of twenty-four years. Deceased was an employee of S. A. Cook & Co., for a number of years and her many friends feel most keenly her untimely death.

J. Raymond MORIARTY, 62, died suddenly yesterday at his home, 123 Roseland Ave. He had been in ill health for a number of years. His mother, Mrs. Catherine McCLELLAN, died seventeen days ago. Mr. MORIARTY was born in Medina on Dec. 4, 1897, and had lived here his entire lifetime. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, and the Holy Name and St. Vincent de Paul Societies of that church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Loyal Order of Moose.
Mr. MORIARTY served with the Army in World War I and was a member Company F, 108th Infantry, of Medina. Military services will be conducted at his grave. The deceased was one of the first casualties of Medina’s Co. F. infantry unit in World War I. During the battle of the Hindenburg Line on Sept. 29, 1917, a German shell hit a British tank which was supporting the local unit. The tank exploded and a fragment of the machine struck the local man in the arm and shoulder. The wounds caused Moriarty to suffer repeated ailment in the arm for the rest of his life. During the periods when he was able to engage actively in business the local war veteran operated first a restaurant and later a billiard parlor.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude CIELEWICH MORIARTY; two sons, Francis E. and James W. of Medina; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Alice PADOLESKI, Mrs. Ruth HARE, both of Medina, and Mrs. Eileen WILSON of Lyndonville; three brothers, Daniel and Kenneth MORIARTY and Bertrand McCLELLAN of Medina. Also, one step-sister Dorothy WALKER, and two step-brothers James McCLELLAN of Medina and Laverne McCLELLAN of Lockport.
Friends will be received at Barnes - Tuttle Funeral Home, Pearl St., where prayer services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, with a funeral mass at 9:30 at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

John J. MORIARTY, 61, a resident of Medina for nearly 30 years, and prominently associated with the Knights of Columbus as well as other local organizations, died Friday evening at Veterans Hospital, Buffalo, where he had been confined for some weeks by illness.
He was the son of Daniel and Mary MORIARTY and a native of Louisville, Kentucky. The exact time of his residence here is placed at about 27 years. While in Medina, he was a member of the local council, Knights of Columbus, which he served at one time as Grand Knight, was a Fourth Degree Knight, and also a member of Medina Lodge of Elks and Holy Name Society. Mr. Moriarty was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. A veteran of service in World War I, he was associated with a number of Medina concerns during his residence here. They incude W. J. Gallagher, Inc., White Bros. Rose Corp.; Orleans Construction Co. and the former Medina Iron & Brass Co.
Surviving are his wife, Harriet; a son, John J. MORIARTY, Jr., of Medina; two sisters, Mrs. Harry L. SWEENEY and Miss Marge MORIARTY, both of Houston, Texas; two brothers, M. J. MORIARTY and William T. MORIARTY, both of Louisville.
Friends are being received at the O’Reilly Funeral Home, East Center Street, where services will be conducted tomorrow morning at 9:30. A service will be held at St. Mary’s Church at 10 a.m., with the Vy. Rev. Henry B. SHAW officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The death of Mrs. Katherine MORIARTY, 48, occurred this morning in her home, 503 Park Avenue, following an extended illness. A lifelong resident of this area her parents were the late Ernest and Katherine HAGERMAN.
Surviving besides her husband, Leonard, is one son, A/1c Leonard F. MORIARTY, stationed at Moose Lake, Washington, a sister, Mrs. Charles STAFFORD of Medina and a brother, George HAGERMAN, Rochester; also three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church preceded by prayer services at 8:30 in the Thibault Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Millers - Mrs. Lillian C. MORRELL, 64, died at her home in Millers on Saturday, January 13. She is survived by her husband, John W. MORRELL, and one son, William. Mrs. MORRELL was born in Jericho Vermont., on July 7, 1875. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at her home, Rev. Glessner officiating. Burial was in Hartland Central Cemetery. Bearers are Burton Porter, Raymond Davis, Delbert Robinson, Edward Snowdon, Lee Mead and Wesley Gotts.

Word has been received by Shelby friends of the death of Miss Lulu MORRELL on Saturday, May 19th, at Dobbs Ferry. Her father, the Rev. Abner MORRELL, was pastor of the Shelby Baptist Church a number of years ago and the friends here will hear with regret of the demise of Miss MORRELL. The funeral and burial took place at their old home at Etna, N.Y.

Mrs. Mary MORRIS, 73, died yesterday afternoon following a long illness, at her home, 737 Orient Street, where she was born and lived her entire lifetime.
Surviving are two sons, Gerald and William MORRIS, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Carl TUOHEY of Medina and Mrs. Paul TUTTLE of Lyndonville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one niece, Mrs. Floyd WARNE.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the Cleary Funeral Home and 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Last Thursday morning, April 1, at his home in Clarendon occurred the death of Alexander MORRISON. He was born in Ireland Sept. 11, 1881, and came to this country about 7 years ago, taking up his residence in Clarendon where he lived until his death.
He leaves his wife and 3 children, 2 brothers, Samuel of Fancher and Henry of Clarendon, and 4 sisters, Mrs. J. McFARLAND of Clarendon and 3 who live in Ireland. The funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon, Rev. L.M. Lawrence officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery.

The two year old daughter (Marjorie Louise MORRISON) of Mr. and Mrs. William MORRISON died recently (March 28, 1931) at their home in Gaines.

Samuel MORRISON, 76, of Ridge Rd, Albion RD, a native of County Tyrone, Ireland, and an Albion area farmer for the last 50 years, died this morning (March 11, 1960) in Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a short illness. He came to the United States at the age of 22, and settled here at that time.
He leaves his wife Eliza Jane MORRISON;, two sons, William J., and Herbert C. of Gaines, a brother, Henry, of Wooster, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Martha MENEELY in Ireland, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Lyndonville - William MORRISON, 78, retired farmer, died at his home in Lyndonville yesterday afternoon. He had been ill since before Christmas, but confined to bed for about two weeks. Mr. MORRISON was born in the Town of Gaines, November 2, 1861, but had been a resident in the Town of Yates for many years. His wife, Elizabeth McKEE MORRISON, died about 25 years ago. He and his daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. HARROLD, had resided on North Main Street
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Addie NELLIST, and Mrs. Cora PEASE of Barker and Mrs. Clara LACEY and Mrs. Gladys HARROLD of Lyndonville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Accident Fatal To Mrs. Grace S. MOTT
Funeral services for Mrs. Grace S. MOTT, 84, a Gold Star Mother, widow of
William MOTT, 206 West Avenue, whose death occurred Saturday afternoon in
the Medina Memorial Hospital, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 p. m.
from her late residence. The Rev. John CLARK of the Royalton Center
Methodist Church will officiate, and burial will be in Carlton Cemetery,
Waterport.
Confined to her wheel chair for fifteen years as the result of a fracture of her left hip, Mrs. MOTT suffered a fractured right hip when she fell to the cement pavement after the wheel chair rolled off the porch at her home last Tuesday afternoon.
Born in the Town of Carlton, Oct. 6, 1861, the daughter of the late Labone and Levina WILSON, Mrs. MOTT had been a resident of Medina for the past 28 years. She was a Gold Star Mother, her son, Dewey G. MOTT, having been killed in action in World War 1. Serving as a Marine private with the 82nd Co. of the 6th Regiment, he was killed Oct. 7, 1918, in France.
Mrs. MOTT also had two sons serving in World War II, Lawrence MOTT and Wesley MOTT. She (was) a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are four sons, Glenn MOTT of Wyandotte, Mich., and Lawrence, William and Wesley MOTT of Medina; six daughters, Mrs. Helen RAY of Tintah, Minn., Mrs. Gladys YOUNG of Youngstown, Ohio, Mrs. Grace STRASSELl of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Genevieve EIMER, Mrs. Harriet SLACK and Mrs. Alice HARMER of Medina; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great - grandchildren; also two sisters, Mrs. Harriett GREEN of Montrose, Mich., and Mrs. George ROBBINS of Los Angeles, Calif.; and four brothers, Ruben, George, Grant, and Edward WILSON, all of Michigan.

He leaves his wife, Kate THORPE MOWER; three sons, Alva of Holley, and Dean and Kenneth both of Brockport; two daughters, Mrs. Fred VanORDEN of Brockport and Mrs. Charles WEBSTER of Holley, a nephew, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Born in Medina her parents were the late Simon and Catherine WASZAK. She had been a resident of Buffalo since her marriage.
Surviving are her husband George, three sons, Herman J., George Jr. and Wiliam S.; three brothers, George, Joseph and Edward WASZAK of Medina: three sisters, Mrs. Ida WANIECKI, Medina, Mary WASZAK, New York City, and Mrs. Nellie MRUK, Buffalo; also three grandchildren. A retired florist in Medina since 1911, August F. MUCHOW, 81, of 1315 West Ave. died Friday in Medina Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for five days. He was born Nov. 12, 1878, in Wolcottsburg, the son of Gottlieb and Johanna BRETZNOW MUCHOW. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and had served as board member of the church for several years.
Surviving are two sons, Luther of Medina and Robert of Lyndonville; one grandson, Cadet Robert F. MUCHOW, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Conn; two brothers, Christ of Alden and Edward A. of Buffalo; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. this afternoon at St. Peter’s Lutherian Church with the Rev. H. Nemeschy, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Hartland Central Cemetery.

Mrs. MUDGETT, Who Died Yesterday, Was of Ancient Huguenot Lineage
Mrs. Clara Allen CONDE MUDGETT, widow of the late John Wallace MUDGETT, died suddenly yesterday
morning at her residence, 548 Averill Avenue, aged 68 years. Her death was due to heart disease.
Mrs. MUDGETT was a direct descendant of the famous French family of CONDE, who, belonging to the nobility, sided with King Henry of France when the latter countenanced the slaughter of Protestants known in history as the Massacre of St. Bartholomew.
Swits CONDE from whom Mrs. MUDGETT was descended, fled to Holland, There he married a dutch wife, and early in the succeeding century the two sons of this couple emigrated to America. One of them also named Swits, became the Mayor or Burgemaster, of Albany, but was killed by the Indians in a skirmish which took place near the site of the present city of Schenectady. The other son, Adam, settled in Boston, Mrs. MUDGETT was descended from this one, who was her great-grandfather.
Mrs. MUDGETT's mother, Mrs. Ophelia ALLEN CONDE, died in this city October 17, 1903, at the advanced age of 94 years. Her son Albert S. MUDGETT, who formerly resided in Rochester, removed some time ago to New Rochelle, N.Y., which was the original settlement of the fugitives from the famous Huguenot massacre. He came to Rochester yesterday to visit his mother and arrived soon after her death.
The funeral will take palce at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon from the house.

A Prominent Citizen and Business Man Who Was Laid At Rest This Week.
Rochester, Jan 22 - After a lingering illness of several years John W. MUDGETT, well and favorably known as one of Rochester's hard-working and zealous business men, breathed his last at his late residence on Averille Avenue Monday.
Mr. MUDGETT was born in Lyndonville, this state, in 1832. He was in business for several years in Medina after leaving Lyndonville. In 1875 he came to Rochester and here he was a successful merchant until he retired a few years ago. Shortly after retiring from business he suffered a paralytic stroke, from the effects of which he never recovered.
The funeral services were held from the late residence Wednesday and interment was at Mt. Hope.(?) Deceased leaves a widow (Clara CONDE)and one son (Albert MUDGETT).

The funeral of Mrs. William MUDGETT and interment at Mt. Hope, Rochester, was attended on Saturday afternoon last by Mr. and Mrs. Le Roy J. Skinner, Mrs. Lee and Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Cummings of this place. Deceased, who was widow of the late William MUDGETT attained the age of ninety-five years.
Mr. and Mrs. MUDGETT were among the early pioneers of the town of Yates, going on their wedding journey from Batavia through the woods across the country in an ox cart to take up land purchased of the Holland Land Company. They settled upon what has of late years been known as the Crossett farm, now, we understand, owned by Mrs. Toms, the first farm on the lake shore road east of Shadigee. Mr. MUDGETT afterward became a sucessful contractor on canal improvement work, moving to Rochester about 1862 where they continued to reside.

Death of an Old and Highly Respected Resident of the City This Morning
William MUDGETT died suddenly this morning at his residence, 71 South Fitzbugh Street, after a
long illness.
Mr. MUDGETT was born in Salem Mass., March 1, 1816. He came to Orleans county in 1830 and moved to Rochester in 1848. He engaged in the grocery and provision business where the German Insurance Building now stands and continued on the same until 1853. He held the office of canal collector in 1852-53, then engaged in the canal transportation business under the firm name of Fish, Nudgett & Co.
Mr. MUDGETT represented the First Ward in the Common Council in 1858-59 and held the office of chief of police during the administrations of Mayors Filon and Bradstreet in 1862-63. He was engaged on public works on the New York canals under the firm name of Lord, Mudgett & Co. up to 1875. Since then he has not been engaged in active business.
Mr. MUDGETT was connected with the First Presbyterian Church during his residence in Rochester and took an active part in the affairs of the church. He is survived by his wife (Letternette LEONARD), one daughter, Mrs. E. W. WILLIAMS, and three grandchildren, John M. WILLIAMS, Helen WILLIAMS and Edward L. WILLIAMS.

Supposing that the lake formed in a ravine and used for power purposes by the A. L. Swett Company was an ordinary affair, in which he could wade, Leo Jozwilak, 20 years old, an employee in one of the foundries here, soon found himself in fifty feet of water when he went in bathing on Tuesday evening, and being unable to swim was soon drowned. A call on police headquarters resulted in a rescuing party being formed to recover the body. The efforts this far have been unsuccessful. Jozwilik boarded at a house on Laurel Hill. He has relatives residing in Buffalo.
The body of Leo MULHALLA, who was drowned in Glenwood Lake on Tuesday of last week, was recovered Thursday afternoon by Ex-Chief of Police, John Stork and Constable George Butts, who raised the body with grappling hooks. Ella E. at Rochester Friday, Feb, 13, 1953. Besides her husband, Frank T. MULLIGAN, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. John KELSO, Clarkson, N.Y., Mrs. Timothy O’BRIEN and Mrs. Charles E. SPALL, both of Rochester, Mrs. Raymond G. MILLER of Buffalo, one grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

George MULROONEY, aged about 26 years, was accidentally killed in West Bank street, at 8 o’clock yesterday morning. Mr. MULROONEY was employed by Jesse B. Storms, a cement walk builder. Recently a new walk was laid in front of the home of Dr. W. R. Burbank, in West Bank Street, and three of the heavy stones of the old walk were stood on end against a tree in front of the house.
Yesterday Mr. MULROONEY, George Townsend and Joseph Houghton were removing these stones when the one which Mulrooney was handling started to fall with the top toward him, and as he stepped backwards to hold the stone, his foot struck the edge of a heavy iron wheelbarrow, causing him to fall over backwards with the stone, weighing about 500 pounds, striking on top of him. His back was on the edge of the iron box of the wheelbarrow and was broken. He also sustained a rupture of the arteries of the abdomen. Mr. MULROONEY called to his fellow employees, 'lift up quick' then expired. Coroner Lattin, of Gaines, was summoned and had the body removed to the McNall & McNall undertaking rooms where an inquest was held last night and a verdict rendered of accidental death.

A retired farmer and a life time resident of this vicinity, George A. (L.) MUNDION, 75, died of
a heart attack near his home, 1028 West Avenue, and was found in the snow by the Medina
Police after they had been notified ny Mrs. Louis Bacon, a neighbor, that a man was lying
in the snow near her home. A certificate issued of death by natural causes was issued by
Coroner L. F. Waters.
Born in Shelby, Mr. MUSDION operated a farm there for a number of years before moving to Medina.
A member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, he is survived by two soms, Harry of Medina and Leslie of
Millville; and one daughter, Mrs. William MERGOTT of Medina. Funeral services will be held
Tuesday at 2:30 in the Hartt FUneral Home with interment at
Mt. Pleasant Cemetery,
West Shelby.

The death of James MUNDION, a respected resident of Medina, occurred at his home on West Oak Orchard Street, Sunday morning. The late Mr. MUNDION was 80 years of age and was a veteran of the Civil War and is survived by a wife (Hester), two sons, George L. and Albert E. MUNDION, and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at one o’clock from his late home on West Oak Orchard Street and at 2 o’clock at Shelby Center Church.

The death of Mrs. Anna MUNGER, a former resident of Medina, occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert CROPSEY, near Lockport, Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 4, at 3 o’clock. The funeral was held Friday afternoon from the home, Cropsey road, northwest of Lockport.

Harvey MUNN recently deceased in the town of Carlton, was born in the town of Woodbury, Fairfield Co., Connecticut. He was the last of a family of five children.
At the age of eighteen he enlisted in the regular army. He was at the battle of Tippecanoe, June 11th, 1811, under general Wm. H. HARRISON, where he received an Indian bullet in each leg, by which he was disabled for sometime. Afterwards, under General HULL, he was taken prisoner and was paroled as a prisoner and remained home until the close of the war.
He was married September 2nd, 1815 to Mar[c]y MOREHOUSE, with whom he lived forty-eight years. In April, 1824 he started on foot with a small knap-sack for the Holland Purchase, arriving after a long and tedious journey, at the Town of Carlton, where he purchased an article of a piece of land. He returned to his home in the East, and moved his family to Carlton in October 1825. In common with others he suffered all the hardships and trials of pioneer life. He was a man of great industry and strict honor and integrity. He was for the last thirty five years a member of the protestant Episcopal Church and died rich in faith and hope.
The father of deceased was a soldier under General Washington for three years in the Revolutionary struggle.

Mrs. Helen TUCKER MUNN, age 25 years died suddenly last Thursday night at the family home in the town of Carlton. She is survived by her husband, Stanley D. MUNN; two children, Pauline and Maynard; her mother, Mrs. Homer TUCKER of Knowlesville; one sister, Mrs. Philo PAYNE of Albion and two brothers, Percy TUCKER of Fulton and Howard TUCKER of Albion. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon. Burial was in Carlton Cemetery.

MUNN - Departed this life July 8th, 1864, in the town of Carlton, Orleans county, N. Y., Mrs. Marcy MUNN, wife of Harvey MUNN. Her maiden name was MOREHOUSE; she was born in the town of Brookfield, Fairfield county, Ct., on the 27th day of March 1796; was married on the 2nd day of September, 1815, and after a lapse of some ten years emigrated with her family to Carlton, where she continued to reside until the termination of her earthly career.
In the earlier part of her life, she made a public profession of religion and united with the Methodist Protestant Church, with which she remained in sympathy, although by reason of age and infirmity she had been deprived the privilege of regularly attending the public means of grace. She suffered much during her sickness, yet retained her senses to the last, expressed a willingness to go, and died without a struggle or a groan. Her disease was dropsy. The funeral services for the late Dr. Edward MUNSON were held Friday afternoon
at 3 o’clock from St. John’s Episcopal Church, Rev. Canon Bird officiating. The church
was filled with friends gathered to pay their respects to the memory of the beloved
physician and friend. The bearers were his four sons and two sons-in-law. Interment
was in the family plot in
Boxwood Cemetery.

Miss Frances A. MUNSON, aged sixty-six years, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Sunday last, after a long illness, at the home of her brother, Dr. Edward MUNSON. Deceased was born at Richfield, N.Y. She was a teacher for many years; when health failed she came to Medina to reside. Surviving are two brothers, Dr. MUNSON, of this place, and William H. MUNSON, of Washington, D. C. Miss MUNSON was an Episcopalian and her rector, Rev. C. B. Sparks, officiated at the funeral at the residence Monday afternoon. The body was placed in the vault at Boxwood cemetery, awaiting the interment, which will be at Penn Yan in the spring.

Mrs. William H. MUNSON, wife of Orleans County’s district attorney and county judge-elect, died Sunday at her Medina home following a long illness. She was 50 years old.
Mrs. Munson, the former Frances ELY, leaves also two daughters, Mrs. William BEEDON of Medina and Mrs. Edward GARFIELD of Scarsdale; three sisters, Mrs. Alfred V. HALL of Toronto, Mrs A. F. REES, St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Irving STEVENS, East Orange, N. J.; a brother, Franklin P. ELY, Rochester, and five grandchildren.

Lyndonville - Albert MUNZEL, 68, died in Buffalo General Hospital early Saturday morning, April 3, as a result of a back injury received last month while repairing a floor in the second story of his home. Mr. MUNZEL was born in Royalton September 19, 1885, the son of William and Minnie SCHULTZ MUNZEL. He had followed farming as his life occupation.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertha MUNZEL; two sons, Donald, Medina, and John, Bluefield, West Virginia; four daughters, Miss Edna MUNZEL and Mrs. Dorothy DODGE, Gasport, Mrs. Helen CHAPLIN, Lockport, and Mrs. Martha THAINE, Albion; also nine grandchildren; one brother, Edward, Medina; two sisters, Mrs. Lena CULVERWALL, Appleton and Miss Marie MUNZEL, Medina. Also there are five stepchildren, Mrs. Edna SMITH, Buffalo, Mrs. Ruth TROW, Medina, Mrs. Leona MORRELL, Barker, Norman HEIDMAN, Buffalo, and Paul HEIDMAN, Barker.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, County Line, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. A. F. G. Daechsel. Burial was in Hartland Cemetery.

Middleport - Mrs. Florence E. MUNZEL, 69, wife of Fred C. MUNZEL, died Monday in her Ridge Rd. home. Born in Orleans County, her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Timothy PIKE. Besides her husband she is survived by several nieces and nephews.

C. S. MURDOCK received the sad news Saturday evening of the death of his niece, Miss Effie MURDOCK, of Chicago. Miss MURDOCK was a very lovely lady and was well known in Medina having frequently visited here. She was daughter of the late Ransom MURDOCK, who formerly resided in Ridgeway. Funeral services were held at seven o'clock Monday evening and the body taken Tuesday to Paxton, Ill., her childhood home, for interment.

Mrs. Fannie W. MURDOCK, widow of rhe late Fred MURDOCK, passed away on Thursday morning last after a long illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. M. SUTTER, on West Avenue. Besides her daughter, with whom she made her home, the deceased is survived by two sons, Edward W. MURDOCK of Buffalo and Harry L. MURDOCK of Niagara Falls. There are also two brothers living, Captain R. J. WHITTLETON of Washington D.C. and Mr. J.L. WHITTLETON of Medina.

Frederick W. MURDOCK, an old and respected citizen, died at his home on West Avenue this morning at the age of 71 years. Mr. MURDOCK was a member of the Masonic lodge, having been in good standing in that lodge for 45 or 50 years. He was a faithful father and husband and was a regular attendant at Ridgeway Corners Church. He moved to Medina from his farm on the Marshall Road about two years ago.
He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Martin SUTTER of this place, two sons, Edward of Buffalo, and Harry of Niagara Falls and one grandson, Frederick of Buffalo. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
Mr. MURDOCK was born in the town of Ridgeway on June 15, 1837, being 71 years of age on the day of his death. He was a son of William MURDOCK who came to this town from Greene County in 1810, traveling with one ox and one horse hitched together.
Several years ago he suffered a stoke of paralysis from which he never recovered. In 1864 he was married to Miss Fanny WHITTLETON who survives him, as well as one daughter, Mrs. B. M. SUTTER of this place, and two sons, Edward R. of Buffalo and Harry L. MURDOCK of Niagara Falls and one grandson, Frederick D. MURDOCK.
The funeral was held from his late residence (corner of West and South Avenues) yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock and from the Universalist Church at Ridgeway at 3 o’clock, the Rev. I. K. Richardson officiating. Interment was in the Barrett Cemetery (aka West Ridgeway Cemetery).

Harold Wood MURDOCK, 54, well known Medina business man and a former member of the Village Board of Trustees for ten years, died yesterday at 5:30 p. m. at the Medina Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Aug. 15. Born in Medina, March 9, 1894, he was the son of the late John and Cornelia (nee WOOD) MURDOCK; and lived here his entire lifetime. He attended the Medina schools and was graduated from the Medina High School with the class of 1912. He married Miss Mabel SIMMONS on Aug. 14, 1917.
Following his graduation from high school in 1912, he entered the clothing business with his father, operating a men’s clothing store under the firm name of the J. & G. W. Murdock Co. Since the death of his father, Mr. MURDOCK has operated the store.
Active in civic affairs, Mr. MURDOCK was elected to the Board of Trustees, taking office Apr. 1, 1938, and serving continuously until Apr. 1 of this year when he declined renomination. He served as head of the Streets Department of the village. A member of the Presbyterian Church, he served as president of the Board of Trustees of the church. He has been commissioner of the Boxwood Cemetery Association since Nov. 16, 1937 and was its present treasurer.
A charter member of the Medina Lions Club, Mr. MURDOCK served as its secretary and president, and was a past assistant deputy governor of the Lions Club. He was a member of the Medina Chamber of Commerce, and of Medina Lodge of Masons. He also served as treasurer of the former Medina Civic Committee.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel (SIMMONS) MURDOCK; one daughter, Mrs. Sam ORSENBERG, Venice, California; and one son, Robert MURDOCK, a student at Purdue University.
Funeral services will be held from his late home; 713 West Center Street, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, with the Rev. Edward SIMPSON of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Boxwood Cemetery.

Ransom R. MURDOCK died at his home in Chicago, Ill., December 20th, aged seventy-eight years. He is survived by his wife, one daughter and a brother, Charles S. MURDOCK, of this place. Mrs. Fred GRAY, of Ridgeway, and Mrs. Herbert WARD, of Rochester, are nieces. Deceased was son of the late Seymour B. Murdock (& Eliza REED), one of the pioneer settlers of Orleans County. Ransom went to Illinois many years ago and with the late William H. Pells, of Ridgeway, built the now thriving village of Paxon.

Mr. Willard MURDOCK, a well known and highly respected citizen of Lyndonville, died yesterday afternoon in a Buffalo hospital. Mr. MURDOCK was 52 years old and a retired farmer. He had been troubled for a few years with heart trouble, but it was only recently that his condition was known to be critical.
The deceased is survived by a wife and one daughter, besides two brothers, John and George, both of this place, and two sisters, one of whom resides in Buffalo and the other in Lyndonville. The funeral will be held from his late home tomorrow afternoon at one o’clock. His family have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends both in Medina and Lyndonville.

William MURDOCK died on Thursday last, at his home in the town of Ridgeway, aged seventy-two years. The immediate cause of his death was paralysis, an attack of which he had while at the dinner table, and lived only a few days thereafter. He settled in this town in the year 1810, removing from his birthplace in Conneticut (Connecticut), and has ever since resided here. He was one of the two surviving member(s) of a family of twelve, and leaves a widow and one son, Fred Murdock. The funeral was Saturday, at Ridgeway church, and was largely attended by his neighbors and friends, by whom he was universally esteemed and respected.

Barry MURPHY died at 10:45 last evening. Death, due to heart failure, came upon him almost instantaneous. He had concluded a few remarks as one of the guests at an anniversary gathering at Wolcottsville, and seating himself, suddenly passed away before assistance could reach him. Death followed in exactly eight weeks the sad and untimely death of his wife, and the grief of her loss is thought to have hastened his death. Last evening, accompanied by his daughters, Margaret and Katherine and Miss Mable BRUNING, who was in Mr. MURPHY’s employ at his South Academy Street home, he attended the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Henry BRUNING at Wolcottsville, the parents of Miss BRUNING. They, with other friends and relatives of the family, had enjoyed a family dinner and joined in the spirit of the occassion. Before departing for home Mr. MURPHY was called upon to make a few remarks, which in a most fitting manner he did. He concluded his remarks with the sentence, 'When I close my eyes in death, I pray that I may be laid to rest near my little German mother'. As he sat down life passed away.
Barry MURPHY, widely known throughout the state through a life of political and journalistic activity, was born near Knowlesville May 14, 1873. He was the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis MURPHY. His early boyhood was spent at the farm home; although his early education was mostly obtained in Medina schools. He left school as a young man to accept a position with the Taylor Candy Company of Rochester in their sales department. After serving with this concern for a few years he accepted a position with the National Cash Register Company and remained in their employ for some time.
In politics he has always been a Democrat, and for several years of his life his activities were almost entirely with his party. He was secretary to Lieut. Governor CHANDLER and also to Governor DIX, and in 1913 he was appointed to the State Fair Commission by Governor Martin H. GLYNN, on which body he served for two years. He was an intimate friend of William R. HEARST and had charge of the publicity of his campaign at the time he ran for governor.
The late Mr. Murphy served two years on the Board of Education of Medina, resigning in 1913 on account of his duties on the State Fair Commission. He has always taken an active part in local politics but never aspired to hold elective office.
He has always been a keen lover of sports and for years has taken a great interest in the Medina Athletic Association and the Medina Baseball Club. He was with the International League as umpire part of one season and had served in that capacity among semi-professional clubs for many years. He has always taken more than a common interest in the affairs of Medina, and has given liberally of his time and money to make every venture a success. A faithful communicant of St. Mary’s, he has been very attentive in the performance of his religious duties and an active worker in church affairs. The deceased was a member of the local Council Knights of Columbus and a forth degree member of the order. He also had membership in the Woodmen and several professional and social organizations.
Among those who knew him best he was best known as a father, and five small children who less than two months ago were left without a mother, are now without a father. They are without one who was more than a father to them for his every interest in life was centered about his family. The little ones left behind are Margaret, Katherine, John, Robert and Barry Jr. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Thomas O’MALLEY of South Avenue, a brother, E. J. MURPHY of Buffalo, and his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John WALDNER of South Avenue.
In the newspaper world, Mr. Murphy was particularly well known. For several years he published The Orleans County News, a weekly newspaper, published here in Medina. Four years ago this publication was discontinued and he has since issued a monthly publication, The Orleans County Monthly Magazine. He also was editor and publisher of the New York State Fruit Grower, a monthly trade journal of orchardists. He was local correspondent for several Buffalo and Rochester papers. He maintained an office in the Odd Fellows Building until a month ago when he had his fixtures removed to his home on South Academy Street.
Following his sudden death at Wolcottsville his remains were taken to the undertaking parlors of L A. Whited at Middleport. A coroner's inquest was held at that place this morning after which the body was removed to his late residence on South Academy Street. Mr. MURPHY had an appointment with Governor Smith at Rochester this morning.
Although funeral services have not been arranged it is thought that they will be held Saturday morning. The remains of Mrs. MURPHY are at present in Boxwood Cemetery vault, and it is probably that they will be buried at the same time in the family lot. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at ten o'clock at St. Mary's Church.

Mrs. Ella STEWART MURPHY, widow of the late Thomas MURPHY, died at her home in Detroit on Sunday last after a long illness. The deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John VHAY, of Pontiac, Mich., Mrs. John GLASS, of Chicago, and Mrs. J. L. FORD, of Lynn, Mass., and one sister, Mrs Elizabeth STEWART, of this place. The body was brought to Medina on Tuesday and the funeral held at the home of Mrs. Walter S. Randolph, Rev. C. B. Sparks officiating. The interment was in Boxwood Cemetery.

The death of Mrs. Ellen MURPHY of Sweden occurred Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs Frank Mulligan, in Sweden. She was 84 years old. She is survived by two sons, Dennis of Rochester, and Henry of East Syracuse; two daughters, Mrs Fred POST of Holley, and Mrs Frank MULLIGAN of Sweden; and nineteen grandchildren. The funeral was held on Wednesday morning from the Church of the Nativity of Brockport. Father Krieg, pastor of the church, officating at the services. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in this village.

Jerry MURPHY, who has for some years been in the employ of C. M. Simmonds, went out driving on Sunday with George Smith. The horse ran away, and both men were thrown from the buggy. MURPHY was badly injured and was taken to his home by Smith, who, for some reason, left the suffering man lying in the yard, in an unconscious condition. He was found there on Monday morning and a physician summoned, who pronounced the wound fatal. MURPHY’s skull was crushed in, and he received internal injuries.

The death of Mrs. Kathryn MURPHY, wife of Barry MURPHY, former State Fair Commissioner, and well known throughout New York State as an editor, occurred early Wednesday morning at the family home on South Academy Street, after a brief illness of pneumonia. Mrs. MURPHY was discovered in an unconscious condition by members of the family on Tuesday morning and never recovered from that condition before her sudden death.
Besides her husband the deceased is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John WALDNER of South Avenue, five children, Anna Margaret, Kathryn, John Robert and Barry Jr., a sister, Miss Alice WALDNER of Washington, D.C., and two brothers, Arthur, of North Dakota, and Leo of Detroit, Michigan.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at nine o’clock at St. Mary's Church.
The funeral of the late Mrs. Kathryn MURPHY, wife of Barry MURPHY, who died Wednesday morning, was held at nine o’clock at St. Mary's Church this morning, the Rev. Thomas F. Gleason officiating at the requiem high mass. The services were attended by a large circle of friends of the deceased. The bearers were: Messrs. Francis HANLON, William MACKEY, James CONLEY, Thomas FLATTERY, Daniel CLEARY and George TUOHEY. The interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The deceased was a most charming and talented woman, who endeared herself to all fortunate enough to make her acquaintance, for she possessed that gracious personality, that devotion to her family, that sincerity of purpose and those womanly ideals that made her life worth the living, and the world better therefor.
She is survived by her husband, Barry MURPHY, and five children; a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John WALDNER, a sister, Miss Alice WALDNER of Washington, D. C., and two brothers, Leo of Detroit and Arthur of North Dakota. The five children are all ill at their family home on South Academy Street and were unable to attend the funeral services at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Lawrence MURPHY, a well known citizen of the town of Clarendon, died early Monday morning. He was in his 70th year. He was born in Ireland, but had lived in this country about 50 years. He leaves a wife and two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Fred POST and Dennis MURPHY, of Holley, Henry MURPHY, of Syracuse, and Mrs. Frank MULLIGAN, of Brockport. The funeral was held yesterday from St. Mary’s church.

Thomas MURPHY, an old resident of this place, died at his home on Orient street, Tuesday night, aged 76 years. Funeral services are being held this afternoon.

The Medina relatives of Thomas MURPHY, of Detroit, Mich., have received the sad news of his death which occurred suddenly of Bright’s disease on Tuesday last, at Phoenix, Arizona.

The death of Timothy MURPHY, an esteemed resident of Medina, occurred suddenly on Tuesday morning at Utica where Mr. MURPHY was visiting relatives, the immediate cause of death being heart failure. He was about 65 years old and is survived by his widow, who resides on East Center street, two sons and one daughter. The remains will be brought here for burial and the funeral will take place from St. Mary's Church on Friday morning.

Mrs. Grace Lee Curtis MURRAY, widow of George B. MURRAY died this morning at her home east of Childs. She was born in Kent on Nov. 28, 1871.
Mrs. MURRAY is survived by one daughter, Mrs Forest Weaver of Kent; two sons, Curtis C. and John R. (of) Childs; eight Grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Floyd PICKETT, Kent, and two brothers, W. Reed CURTIS, Albion, and Adin CURTIS, Kent.
She was a member of the East Gaines Baptist Church, the W.C.T.U. (Womens Christian Temperance Union) and Abeel Rebekah Lodge.
The funeral will be held at her late home, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Kenneth Roadarmel and the Rev. Edward McClain officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas MURRAY, of Albion, was found dead in bed Friday morning. She had been sick for about a week, and when the family arose Friday morning she appeared to be resting so well that it was deemed best not to awaken her for breakfast. After Mr. MURRAY left for his work the daughter went to her mother’s room and then made the discovery that death had occurred. She was 59 years old.

Mrs. Arabella MYERS died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Lee S. PARSONS of West Center street, at seven-thirty this morning, after a few weeks illness of paralysis.
The deceased was sixty-five years of age and came here a few weeks ago to visit her sisters, Mrs. John V. PARKER, when she suffered a stroke, from which she never recovered.
The body was taken to her former home at Minerva, Ohio, at noon today, at which place the funeral will be held. She was survived by a sister, Mrs. John V. PARKER, and a brother, John ZENTES, Canton, Ohio.

Albion, June 2 - Asa D. MYERS, 89, died at his home, No. 26 Ingersoll Street, yesterday. Mr. MYERS was born in Greece, January 19, 1838. He was a tinsmith by trade. He had resided in Albion for the past fifty years. He was a sexton of Christ Episcopal Church for nearly forty years and trustee of the A. M. E. Church, for many years.
He leaves his wife, Elizabeth R. MYERS and one daughter, Mrs. LeVanche BENJAMIN, of Albion.
Funeral Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the A. M. E. Church, Rev. H. H. HARRIS officiating. Burial in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. from Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, for Mrs. Edith Louise MYHILL, 82, of 805 S. Main St., Medina, who died Friday in Medina Memorial Hospital after a short illness. The Rev. Richard BILLINGSLEY of Lyndonville Presbyterian Church officiated at the service and burial was in Lynhaven Cemetery.
Mrs. MYHILL was born in Norfolk, England, on Aug. 14, 1886, and came to this country in 1910. Her husband, James H. Myhill, died on Sept. 14, 1962. Mrs. Myhill attended Lyndonville Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two sons, Reginald LACEY and Lewis MYHILL, both of Lyndonville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ethel HARRIS of London, England, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial gifts may be made to the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Matthew MYHILL died very suddenly Saturday. When her husband returned home from work he found her dead in her chair. She was 86 years of age. She leaves her husband and two daughter, Mrs. William STAHL and Mrs. Harvey ROSS, of Medina.
The funeral was Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock from her late home, Rev. Mr. SHAW officiating. Burial in Shelby Center Cemetery.

James H. MYHILL, 85, of 805 South Main St. died Friday afternoon in Medina Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 14, 1876, in Norfolk, England, Mr. Myhill came to the United States in 1897. He had engaged in general farming for most of his lifetime. Surviving are his wife, Edith LACEY MYHILL; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur LAKE of Medina and Mrs. Ralph LOTT of Yates Center; one son, Lewis J. MYHILL of Lyndonville; one step-son, Reginald LACEY of Lyndonville. Also six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Miss Lena Myhill of Norfolk, England; several nieces and nephews. The Rev. The body of Mrs. Alfred MYHILL, who died at Elgin, Ill., on Tuesday, arrived in town this morning, accompanied by her son, Leo. Deceased was Josephine KNAPP, and until within a few years had always resided in Medina. Her age was about sixty years. Funeral services are being held at the Presbyterian Church this afternoon.

The death of Matthew MYHILL occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harvey ROSS, on South Main Street, yesterday, aged 91 years, after a lingering illness. Mr. MYHILL was born at Catfield, England, in 1832, and came to America twenty years later. He has since resided at Shelby Center and vicinity. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harvey ROSS and Mrs. William STAHL, both of Medina, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harvey ROSS on South Main Street, Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. Burial at Shelby Center Cemetery.

Mrs. Theodosia MYHILL, former resident of Shelby, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William COOK of Mayville. The body was brought to Medina and buried in Boxwood Cemetery this Thursday afternoon at 2:30.

Funeral services for the late Walter J. MYHILL, 60, whose death occurred early today in the Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital, Albion, following a long illness will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, in the Houseman Funeral Home, Knowlesville. The Rev. Kenneth BAKER of Millville will officiate.
The deceased was born in Sheringham, Norfolk, England, April 9, 1892, and had been a resident of this country for the past 40 years; the greater part of his time he lived in the vicinity of Knowlesville. He was a member of the Knowlesville Methodist Church.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Edward HOWES of Knowlesville, a brother, Arthur MYHILL of Rochester, and two brothers, Henry and Cecil MYHILL and a sister, Mrs. Etta FORBES, all of England."
