TABOR - The death of E. R. TABOR, an old and highly esteemed resident of Millville, occurred May 31st after a long illness with heart difficulty. Deceased was fifty-four years of age.

Frances Lenora TABOR, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest TABOR, died at her home on Church street, last Thursday, after a brief illness of diphtheria, aged six years. The child was a faithful little member of the primary class at the Baptist Sunday School, and her sweet child nature endeared her to all who knew her. Her parents have the sympathy of the entire community.

Paul J. TAFT, who about civil war time was a resident of Medina and engaged with Albert Card in the carriage making business, died in Chicago, at the residence of his son, on the 3d inst., aged 78 years.

The general esteem in which the late Mr. TAMBLIN was held, makes it fitting that we add the following to the notice published last week: Mr. William S. TAMBLIN was born in Rutland, Jefferson county, N. Y., Nov. 25, 1822, where he remained till 1849, when he removed to Medina, which he made his residence till 1879. He then moved to Lincoln, Neb., where he died March 20th 1885, leaving a wife, and one son. Mr. TAMBLIN was widely known through this community. He was a man of more than ordinary enterprise and influence, and of incorruptible integrity. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, a faithful attendant both at the Sabbath services and prayer meetings, and for many years one of the trustees of the society. In his brief residence in Lincoln, he has won the same confidence and respect which was given him here. All who know him will say a good man has gone.

Mrs. W. A. TANNER died at her home near the road culvert Tuesday afternoon of cancer, after a long and severe illness. Deceased was forty-eight years of age, a lady much beloved by a large circle of acquaintances. She leaves a husband and three children, to whom the sympathy of the entire community is extended. Funeral services are being held at the house this afternoon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Frank J. TANNER, local clubwoman, who died Thursday after a long illness were held from the funerals home, 462 Bird avenue, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. TANNER was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris V. BANCROFT and was born near Medina in 1872. She was educated in the public schools and the Central High School of Buffalo. In 1898 she married Mr. TANNER, who survives her. She also leaves two children, William B. and Virginia F. TANNER, her mother, Mrs. Emma DOWNER of Buffalo, a sister, Mrs. B. L. MALTBIE of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and a brother, Dr. Clayde M. BANCROFT, of Canandaigua, N.Y. - Buffalo Evening News.
Mrs. TANNER was well known in Medina and Albion. The burial was in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

The body of Pvt. Herbert C. TANNER, the first member of Co. F, 108th Infantry, to be killed in action, and for whom the Houseman-Tanner Post of the American Legion, Lyndonville, was named, is scheduled to arrive at the New York Central Depot, Medina, Friday at 6:42 p.m., from Albany. Members of the Houseman-Tanner Post, led by Commander Francis Postle, will act as an official escort, meeting the body and escorting it to the Smythe Funeral Home.
Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond H. Draffin of the Lyndonville Methodist Church, and post chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery, with services at the grave conducted by the Legion.
Born at County Line, in November 1922, Private Tanner attended Lyndonville Centra1 School until his enlistment in the fall of 1940 in Co. F, 108th Infantry, National Guard. He left Medina with the Company on Oct. 24, 1940 for Ft. McClellan, Ala., and after training in that camp and other areas in this country, embarked from Ft. Ord, Calif., for the Pacific area. Private Tanner was killed in action in the South Pacific, on Jan. 10, 1943.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Catherine TANNER, Petrie Road, Lyndonville; his father, Alonzo TANNER, Lockport; four sisters Mrs. Ada MARSH, Mrs. Margaret BURNDT, Mrs. Laura BAIN, and Mrs. Edna BEAUMAN, Lockport; and a brother, Harry TANNER.

Mrs. Frank TANNER was burned to death yesterday about eleven by an explosion of kerosene used in filling her cook stove at her home at Shelby Basin. Deceased was about thirty-five years of age and is survived by her husband, three sons (Frank, Charles & Wilson) and two daughters (Ruth & Lena), the youngest aged about one year. The case is a sad one and elicits the deepest sympathy of the community for the afflicted family.

Spencer TANNER, one of Albion’s most prominent business men died quite suddenly on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. TANNER was vice-president of the Citizens National Bank and treasurer of the Orleans County Mutual Insurance Company.

Medina Naval Officer And Student Pilot Killed When Plane Crashed In Alabama
Ensign Julian Dewey TARASUK, U.S.N., 29, was killed in an airplane
accident in Baldwin County, Ala., 35 miles west of Pensacola, Fla.,
yesterday, according to a telegram received by his mother, Mrs. Antoinette
TARASUK, 213 Glenwood Avenue.
The telegram, signed by the Commander of the Naval Air Training bases at Pensacola, Fla., stated: 'Deeply regret to inform you that your son, Ensign Julian Dewey TARASUK, U.S.N., was killed as a result of an aircraft accident on March 8. Your son was instructor pilot of a SNJ Type Aircraft, which crashed on simulated emergency landing practice at an outlying field. Your son’s plane struck a tree on the edge of the field which caused the accident. His wife, Mrs. J. D. TARASUK, has been notified. Awaiting her instructions. My sincere sympathy extended to you in your great loss.'
Ensign TARASUK was born Oct. 17, 1918, at Lackawanna (Erie Co.), and had been in the U.S. Navy for 12 years. He was in active combat service during World War II, with the Naval Air Force. Five years ago he was married at San Francisco, Calif., and his wife, Mrs. June TARASUK, resided in Florida where her husband was based. The couple visited his mother a year ago.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by three brothers, Capt. Francis TARASUK, U.S. Navy, stationed at London, Conn.; Sgt. Nikolai TARASUK, attending Preparatory School at Stewart Field, Newburgh, N.Y.; and John TARASUK of Medina. All four brothers served in World War ll.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
Also killed in the crash of the single-engine training plane was a student pilot, Ensign V. W. BARRY of New Haven, Conn.

Miss Myra TARBOX died at the County hospital January 4th of pneumonia. She was born March 9, 1829, in the town of Yates where she spent her life, with the exception of the last three years, which she spent at the Orleans County home. More than twenty years ago she became totally blind, following an attack of la grippe. She and her brother, Judson, who alone survives her, and two years younger, have never been separated and his devotion to her in her blindness has been one of tenderness.
A short service was held in the Chapel of the Home, and her remains were brought to Lyndonville and burial was made on the family lot in the Yates Center Cemetery.

The death of Mrs. Celia TASIRMSKI, known as TOMSKI, 72, of 113 Worthy Avenue occurred Sunday evening in St. Jerome’s Hospital, Batavia. Born in Poland, she came to this country at the age of 20 and had been a resident of Medina for the past 30 years. She was the widow of Lucas ASIEMSKI.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Martha NAYMAN of Medina; five sons, John TASIEMSKI of Somerville, Mass.; Frank TASIEMSKI, serving with the Seabees in the Southwest Pacific; Joseph TASIEMSKI of Los Angeles, Calif.; Pfc. Leo TASIEMSKI, with the U.S. Army, stationed in Texas, and Max TASIEMSKI of Batavia; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Alice KAMINSKI and Mrs. Martha BORHOWSKI of Albion; and one brother, Barney KAMINSKI of Albion.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the O’Reilly Funeral Home, East Center Street, where the body is now resting and friends may call, and at 9 at Sacred Heart Church, with Rev. Max T. Bogacki officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

—Mrs. Willis TAYLOR, of Lockport, was burned to death on Friday last by her clothing becoming ignited by a bonfire started to destroy rubbish. Deceased was an Albion girl — Emma BARKER — and since her marriage had resided in Eagle Harbor, Mr. TAYLOR going to Lockport in the winter to work on the canal enlargement job. Her age was 24 years.

The sad news was received by Medina friends recently of the death at La Jolla, Cal., of Eugene W. TAYLOR, city editor of the Denver Post. Mr. TAYLOR was son of Fred M. (Carrie) TAYLOR, who was for a time a member of the firm of Hurd & Taylor, publishers of the Tribune. He was a very capable and brilliant young man, whose untimely passing away brings sorrow to many relatives and friends.

The body of Guerdon B. TAYLOR, of Gaylord, Michigan, was brought here on Friday for burial. Mr. TAYLOR was the father of Orville TAYLOR, of Albion, and was born here eighty-two years ago on the farm now occupied by Daniel CLARK.

Mrs. Lulu TAYLOR, 62, wife of William TAYLOR, died at her home in 122 Roseland Avenue, Sunday morning, following a brief illness. She was born in Emporium, Pa. and has been a resident of Medina for the last 40 years. For a number of years she has been a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was also a devout member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her husband, William TAYLOR, Medina; two sons, RObert A. and LeRoy J., both of Medina; three daughters, Mrs. Corrine SMITH, Middleport; Mrs. Eva L. VALENTINE, Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Hazel STANDISH, Albion; three brothers all from Buffalo; six grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock with burial in Boxwood Cemetery. The Rev. John T. Sanborn, pastor of the Christ Episcopal Church, Albion, will officiate at the services.

ALBION — David Gordon THAINE, 68, of South Kenyonville Road, Albion, died in Arnold Gregory Memorial
Hospital today following a long illness.
Mr. THAINE was born in Ridgeway and had lived in the Albion, Ridgeway and Waterport area all of his
life. He attended school in
Ridgeway. He was a farmer in the Albion area for 30 years retiring in 1980. Mr. THAINE was father of
the late Marcia STARKWEATHER.
Surviving are his wife, Martha (MUNZEL) THAINE; one son, Charles (Louie) THAINE, and daughter-in-law, Sandra THAINE of South Kenyonville Road, Albion; one son-in-law, Norman STARKWEATHER; two brothers, Sidney THAINE and Victor THAINE, both of Lyndonville; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday (2-4,7-9) at the Christopher-Mitchell Funeral Homes Inc., 21 West Ave., from where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville. Memorial gifts may be made to COVA or to the Cancer Society.

It (sic) the death of Dr. George THAYER, at his home on Pearl street, on Friday last, the oldest physician in Orleans county passed away. Dr. THAYER, who was born in Russia, Herkimer county, N. Y., was in the eighty-sixth year of his age and had been a practicing physician in Medina since 1861. He was one of the so-called “old school" practioners, and when in the prime of life was considered one of the most skillful in his vicinity.
The only surviving near relative is his daughter, Miss Harriet THAYER, of this place. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. O. E. Millspaugh, were held at the residence Sunday afternoon. The body was placed in the vault at Boxwood Cemetery.

Albion, May 21-(Special)-The burial of George C. THAYER, a well-known resident of the town of Carlton, takes place Friday at his home at Point Breeze, Oak Orchad Harbor. Mr. THAYER was 74 years of age. He was born in Lees Center, Cattaraugus county, N. Y., and had resided in Carlton 41 years. He is survived by four children; Mrs. Henry J. THAYER, of North Tonawanda; Earl and Ernest THAYER, of Point Breeze, N. Y., and Lewis S. THAYER, of Minnesota, also one sister, Mrs. John McLEAN, of Wisconsin. Burial was in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Obituary---Mrs. Mary CORNISH THAYER
On Thursday, Jan. 2, Mrs. Mary CORNISH THAYER died in Rochester, whither she had
gone a few months since for the treatment and care available for her there in the unsettled
condition of her mind. Born in December, 1819, she was one of a family of six brothers
and six sisters, all but two of whom grew up to maturity. Married in her early womanhood
to Elbridge Gerry THAYER she came with her family to this country fifty-three years ago,
having resided the greater part of the time in this place, where Mr. THAYER died
twenty-five years ago.
Of her four children three survive, Mrs. Morell DATES and Mrs. John MacLEAN of Lyndonville, and George D. THAYER of Point Breeze. One daughter, the wife of Harry MOORE of Lyndonville, died a few years since. Two sisters survive her, Mrs. Sarah HERRING of Syracuse, and Mrs. Helen BROOKS of Chicago, with fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. THAYER was widely known in all this region as a nurse, having acted in that capacity in many families, until obliged to forego the work by the infirmities of advancing age. As was the case with the sixth President of the United States, John Quincy Adams who died at the age of eighty-one, as she retired to her room in the early evening she was often heard in recent years repeating the prayer of her childhood:
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep;
And if I die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.
And so she fell asleep.
Four of her grandsons acted as bearers at her burial in Lynhaven Cemetery. Among those in attendance upon the funeral of Mrs. THAYER on Saturday were Messrs. George, Earl and Ernest THAYER of Point Breeze, Mr. and Mrs. Henry BAKER of La Salle, and Mr. and Mrs. AMES of Knowlesville.

Mrs. George THAYER died at her home at Point Breeze, on Saturday, August 22d, aged sixty-five years. She leaves a husband and four children - three sons and one daughter. A brother, J. R. WARNER, of Niagara Falls, and one sister, Mrs. A. J. COMSTOCK, of Middleport, also survive her. The funeral was held on Monday from her late residence, and the burial was in Lynhaven cemetery, in this village.

Peter THEODORAKOS, one of Medina's oldest businessmen, died last night at his home, 512 West Center Street, following a brief illness.
Born in Greece, he came to this country in 1891. He spent approximately ten years in Rochester in the wholesale fruit business, before coming to Medina in 1901, where he operated a confectionery store until 1914. In 1915 he became affiliated with George STEIN in the manufacture and distribution of ice cream, which he continued until he became the owner of the bowling alleys formerly owned by BOOTS Brothers on East Center Street. "Pete" or "Grandpa" as he was called by all of his friends, has been continuously in the bowling business since that time.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen (BYRNES); one brother, Gus THEODORAKOS of Albion, one brother and three sisters in Greece; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Mrs. Gladys HALL THIBAULT, 59, wife of W. C. THIBAULT, died at her home, 1006 S. Main St., shortly before noon after a long illness. Born in Medina, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Eleanor (SHIELDS) HALL. She had resided in this community her entire lifetime.
Mrs. THIBAULT was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, a graduate of St. Mary’s School, and she attended Medina High School. For a number of years she was cashier of the Niagara Chemical Div., Food Machinery & Chemical Corp., at Middleport, retiring in 1948. Mrs. THIBAULT was the first president of the Medina-Middleport Business & Professional Women’s Club, a member of St. Mary’s Mothers Club, Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary, Buffalo Trap & Field Club Auxiliary and secretary of the Home Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Mrs. Charles P. CASEY of Medina, and three cousins, Mrs. Chester AMDERSON of Albion, Francis E. SHIELDS of Kenmore and Mrs. Earl MATTES of Corpus Christi, Texas.
A Requiem Mass will be held Monday at 9:30 a.rn. from St. Mary’s Church, Medina, preceded by prayer service at 8:45 a.m. from the home of her sister, Mrs. Casey, 1205 West Ave. Friends may call at the Casey residence. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Lyndonville - August THIEL, 86, died yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kenneth JOHNSON at Geneseo. He had been in poor health for the past eight months. Born in Germany June 11, 1862, he was the son of the late Frederick and Minnie THIEL, and came to the United States at the age of eighteen. For the most part Mr. THIEL had lived in the Town of Yates where he was engaged in farming since that time. For the past three years he had made his home with his daughter at Geneseo.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Amelia THIEL of Geneseo; four sons, Henry of East Pembroke, Frank of Albion, Harry of Millers, and Lester THIEL of Lyndonville, three daughters, Mrs. Herman EBELING of Middleport, Miss Rose THIEL of Lyndonville and Mrs. JOHNSON of Geneseo; ten grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren; one brother, William THIEL of Tonawanda; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the Smythe Funeral Home, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, with the Rev. Floyd A. Childs of the Yates Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.

County Line - On Tuesday, the 7th inst., occurred two funerals and one death in this village. The funeral of Charles THIEL, of the Shore road, occurred at the German Lutheran church, of this place. Deceased was a native of Germany, and about sixty-three years of age.

The death of William THIEL occurred Sunday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. LAATZ, of East Avenue, age 87 years, death being due to old age. Two daughters and two brothers survive. The funeral took place on Tuesday, Rev. John Stender officiating. Interment at Wolcottsville.

Fifteen minutes after having suffered a stroke, Mrs. Joseph THIELK passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. A. FINK, of West Shelby, Wednesday afternoon, April 2, at the age of 72 years. Deceased is survived by one brother, of Oregon, one sister, of Middleport, and a daughter, mentioned above. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from the residence of her daughter, Rev. Schleef, of Wolcottsville, officiating. Interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, at West Shelby.

Arthur W. THOMAS died at his home on Prospect avenue, Friday, aged twenty six years. He graduated from the Albion high school in 1896, studied law with G. W. Fitch, graduated from the Buffalo law school in 1900, was a year later admitted to the bar, and began his practice in Medina.
He is survived by his wife, whom he married about eight months ago, and by his parents, who reside near Millville. The funeral was held on Monday from the old family home and the burial was at Millville Cemetery. His fatal illness is said to have had its origin in vaccination.

Bert V. THOMAS, aged 80, died in the Veterans' Hospital, St. Petersbury, Florida, Sunday, May 2. He and Mrs. THOMAS were spending the winter in Florida. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Miss Martha THOMAS of Lyndonville and Mrs. Harold METCALF of Oklahoma; one son, Joseph THOMAS of Lyndonville. The funeral was held from the Warne Funeral Home Saturday afternoon with Rev. E. P. Gill officiating, with interment in Lynhaven Cemetery.

The death of Mrs. Eliza L. THOMAS, widow of Judge Arad THOMAS, who compiled the pioneer history of Orleans county, occurred Thursday morning at her late home in Albion. Mrs. THOMAS was 83 years old and was born in Lavonia, Livingston county.

Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Ella HITCHCOCK THOMAS, at her home in St. Petersburg, Fla., Saturday. Mrs. THOMAS was born in the town of Ridgeway, August 7, 1846; and spent most of her life in Knowlesville and Medina before going to Florida. She leaves several step-children, nieces and nephews. The body will be brought to Albion where services will be held in the McNall funeral home, with burial in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Mrs. Charles E. THOMAS died yesterday at the home of her husband, east of Millville, of scarlet fever of the most severe type, contracted of her little daughter, Onalie, notice of whose death and funeral appeared in yesterday’s Daily Journal. Mrs. THOMAS' illness was of short duration. Everything that medical science and skill could suggest was done, anti-toxins were employed, but she sank rapidly to her death as above stated.
Mrs. THOMAS was but twenty-seven years old and was, before her marriage, Miss Jessie HOWE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward HOWE, and was a young woman of many accomplishments and highly esteemed by all who knew her. Her death is a shock to a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. She leaves, beside her husband and parents, one daughter, Marion Irene, and one son, Arthur Chester, three sisters, Mrs. James BATES, Mrs. Albart WHEELER, of this place, Elizabeth ALBONE, of Lyndonville, and four brothers, Edward and William, of Millville, and John and Thomas of Barre.
The funeral took place this morning from the house, the burial being in Millville Cemetery.
How the little child became infected with the disease is not known. There is no knowledge of her having been exposed to the disease. The dwelling in which the family live has been remodeled this Spring and it is known that, some twenty-seven years ago there were four cases of scarlet Fever in the house, one of them being Mr. Thomas himself, when he was a boy, and three of his brothers and sisters. There is a theory that disinfection not being so thorough in those days as now, germs may have lain dormant all of these years only to be stirred up by the tearing out of partitions, etc., and set free to infect the occupants of the house. This, of course, is merely a theory.

Mrs. Jessie M. Bills THOMAS, 54, died Wednesday at the family home in Carlton. About Christmas time Mrs. THOMAS suffered an ankle fracture. Later the injury caused stoppage of an artery, resulting in her death.
Mrs. THOMAS was born in the town of Gaines. Besides her husband, Wayne P. THOMAS, Carlton, she leaves a brother, Frank M. BILLS, and a sister, Mrs. Edith B. SCHARPING. both of Albion.
The funeral was held in the funeral home of McNall & McNall, 154 Main street, Albion, Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. A. L. Pollock, pastor of the Baptist church at Kent, officiated with burial at Mt. Albion Cemetery.

East Albion - Mrs. Catharine Thomson (sic) died June 24, aged 80 years. She had been a life long resident of East Albion and was loved by young and old. She leaves two sons, Wm. and Elmer THOMPSON, and one daughter, Mrs. Jay PARMELEE (Frances A. IRISH). The funeral was held Sunday at her home, Rev. A. W. Grose officiating.

Albion - Mrs. Emily NOBLE THOMPSON, wife of Fredrick M. THOMPSON, well known Albion attorney, who this year ended 36 years as clerk of Orleans County supervisors and for many years was county attorney, died at the home of her son in Laporte, Ind., Saturday morning.
Her body was brought Sunday to their home, 126 South Main Street for burial. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Frederick M. THOMPSON, Jr., Laporte, Ind.

Frederick M. THOMPSON Jr., well known Albion attorney, died at 3:30 this morning in the Arnold Gregory Hospital, Albion following a heart attack suffered in his home last evening. Mr. THOMPSON was associated with his father, Frederick M. THOMPSON, Sr. for years, clerk of the Board of Supervisors, in law practice in the county seat. He is survived by his wife and father.
Albion - Funeral services for Frederick M. THOMPSON, Jr. 51, prominent county attorney, whose death occurred suddenly yesterday, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 in his late home, 302 South Main St., with the Rev. Vincent Browne, rector of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating and burial in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was a veteran of World War I and a member of Sheret Post American Legion Of this village. He was a past president of the Albion Fire Police, a member of Albion Lodge of Elks, Renovation Lodge F. & A.M., Albion Lodge I.O.O.F., Orleans County Bar Association, the Dye Hose Co., the Albion Fire Department and the Albion Town Club. He was also a member of the Orleans County Republican Committee, a former vestryman of Christ Episcopal Church and an officer of the Albion Sportsmen’s Association for a number of years. He was graduated from Albion High School in 1919 and studied at Albany Law School. He was junior partner in a general law firm with his father here, and had practiced law in Indiana for five or six years before he went into the local firm. Before going to Indiana, he had served at one time as police justice here and later as clerk of the Orleans County Surrogate’s Court.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel GAW THOMPSON; his father, Frederic M. THOMPSON Sr. and a cousin, Mrs. Althea TAYLOR KNIGHT of Rochester.

Sudden Death of One of Albion's Prominent and Most Useful Citizens.
Irving M. THOMPSON, for over half a century one of the foremost citizens of Albion,
died at the family home on Ingersoll street on Wednesday evening last, aged 74 years.
Although he had been subject to sick spells more or less frequent for a year or two past,
no one apprehended that he was drifting into a dangerous condition, and the news of his
death came to the people with a startling suddenness. The chief cause of death was an
affection of the heart.
Mr. THOMPSON was born in Verona, N. Y., in 1831, and removed with his parents to the town of Carlton while a boy. In 1852 he came to Albion and entered the office of Judge Bessac as a law student. Four years later, at the age of 25 years, he was admitted to the bar and began practice with the late Chas. H. Holmes. Subsequently he had as partners at different times Willard F. Warren, Edwin Porter and Seth S. Spencer, and when his two sons were admitted to the bar they joined him in composing a firm which became known as Thompson & Sons. In 1862 he enlisted for the war and went to the front with the 17th Independent Battery, which was recruited in this county by Capt. George T. Anthony, and of which Mr. THOMPSON was elected a lieutenant. He was shot in the thigh at City Point and remained with the Battery until mustered out in June, 1865. That year he was elected district-attorney of Orleans county and served for three years. He was appointed postmaster of Albion under Grant's second administration and held office for four years. In 1880 he became a member of the Board of Education and for 25 years he had served the people in that capacity, being clerk of the Board for the past 15 years. He was also one of the managers of the State Industrial School at Rochester through appointment by Gov. Odell. In politics he was a republican and was a member of the first delegated convention ever held in this county. Always a strong party man, he was an influential factor in the councils of his party, and yet his loyalty to party never blinded his eyes nor hampered his independent action as a citizen. For many years he was prominent in the work of the Historical Society, serving as its president for some time. He was also one of the trustees of the Swan Library Association. He had been identified with the Masonic fraternity for many years. he was a lover of good literature and was familiar with the works of the best authors. As a lawyer he occupied a prominent place; as a public speaker he was heard with interest; as a citizen he met his duties intelligently. In his domestic life he was kind and affectionate and made his home to be 'a castle wherein love reigned.
Strong in his friendships, warm and generous in his impulses, charitable in his judgments, public spirited and progressive in municipal affairs, kind and considerate in his treatment of all men, genial and sunny in temperament, he was a man whose death makes a real loss to the community. Well does the writer remember the words of cheer and encouragement spoken to him by Mr. THOMPSON thirty years ago, when as a young man he was battling with the problems of a journalistic career. He was a member of the Grand Army post here and his spirit of comradeship for the old soldiers was peculiarly strong. Among the most enjoyable events of his life were the annual reunions of the 17th Battery boys, which he never missed. He delivered, in 1869, the first Memorial Day address ever given in Albion. Memorial Day was to him a sacred occasion and he shared in its observance with becoming reverence. At the Memorial exercises two years ago he read a poem, 'The Boys Across the River', written by his brother Lloyd, also a soldier. We called at his home to get the poem for publication and found him in his garden, where he delighted to be after nature began its resurrection work in the spring. He recited the poem to us with dramatic emphasis and his voice trembled and his eyes moistened as he repeated the closing lines:
"And now for us who still remain the march will soon be ending,
The lapping waters on the sands mark where our paths are trending;
And may we, when the order comes, without a sigh or shiver,
March trustingly to join the boys, the boys across the river."
Mr. THOMPSON was married in 1865 to Melissa WARNER, who survives him with three children--Warner, Frederic M. and Mrs. Edith TAYLOR of Bradford, Pa. He also leaves one brother, Edwin D. THOMPSON and two sisters, Mrs. Ellen MOSHER and Mrs. C. A. BRONSON. The funeral was held from the house on Saturday afternoon, Rev. Dr. Dunham officiating, and was largely attended by the Masonic fraternity, the county Bar Association, the Board of Education and the Grand Army veterans. The bearers were W. C. Ramsdale, O.H. Taylor, S. H. Taylor, I. S. Signor, A. W. Barnett and E. L. Wage."

Myron Porter THOMPSON, 52, lifelong resident of this vicinity, died yesterday in the Medina Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for one week. Born near Knowlesville, January 11, 1890, he moved to the Roosevelt Highway in 1923, when he married Lena MOSS of Middleport, later moving to Barker. He was engaged in the farming business.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Elaine, and three step-children, Dorothy, Marie and alfred, all of Barker; three brothers, Warren THOMPSON of Kenmore, Franklin THOMPSON of Waterport and Harold THOMPSON of Kent; one sister, Miss esther THOMPSON of Medina; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from his late home in Barkerm with Rev. May of Somerset officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, County House Road.

Norton THOMPSON, was found sitting in a chair dead at his home in Holley on Sunday. His death was the result of an accident while driving an automobile into a garage the previous evening.

Albion - Perry H. THOMPSON, 66, died Sunday (Oct. 2, 1949) in the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He was a former resident of Riches Corners, southeast of Albion, where he was born and spent most of his early life. He was a member of the Renovation Lodge of Masons at Albion.
Friends will be received at the Merrill Funeral Home at 134 E. State St., Albion, tomorrow evening. Masonic services will be held there at 8 p. m. tomorrow. Services also will be held there at 2:30 p. m. Thursday by the Rev. Donald LAWSON of Albion, with burial in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Josephine (BURNS) THOMPSON of Schenectady; a sister, Mrs. Charles TrROLLEY of Riches Corners and a brother, Warren THOMPSON of Albion, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The death of Mrs. William THOMPSON of the Creek road, one mile north of Oak Orchard on the Ridge, came as a sudden shock to all her family and many friends at 9 o’clock Monday morning after a short illness of nine days, death due to neuritis, aged 49 years. Mrs. Thompson was born in 1868 at Barton, England, coming to America in 1911 with her husband and family, arriving at Knowlesville, N. Y.
She is survived by her husband and four daughters, Mrs. Frank HOWES, of Lyndonville, Mrs. Charles KENDALL, of Knowlesville, Mrs. James ALLEN, of Albion, N. Y., and Mrs. Agustus BEALS, of 435 McKinley avenue, Alliance, 0. and an only son, Mr. William THOMPSON, Jr., of 1648 South Arch street, Alliance, O., who is a fireman on the Pennsylvania Railroad.
The funeral will be held from the home on Thursday at 2:00 o'clock. Interment in Bates Road Cemetery. Methodist burial sermon.

Mrs. Satie THOMPSON, 83, of Waterport, died this morning at 2 o'clock. She had been ill for some time. Mrs. THOMPSON was born in Oak-Orchard-on-the Ridge, December 20, 1866.
She is survived by one son, George, of Waterport and a sister, Mrs. Anna HANDY of Detroit. Mrs. THOMPSON belonged to the Worthwhile Class of Waterport Methodist Church.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 o'clock from the Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion with the Rev. Gordon KURTZ officiating. Burial will be in Otter Creek Cemetery.

South Alabama Resident Dies at His Mother's Home in Millville
SOUTH ALABAMA, May 16 - Word was received here this morning of the death of
William J. THOMPSON, who was taken from here to his mother's at Millville last
Saturday, as he was seriously ill and Mrs. THOMPSON (Edna BUTTS) was sick at her
mother's north of Ridgeway. He was taken much worse after arriving at Millville
and died at 4 p.m. yesterday from blood poisoning, the result of an abcess.
Mr. THOMPSON leaves a widow and one son, Gregson; his mother (Mary GREGSON THOMPSON PICKWELL); a brother in Canada and one in New Hampshire and a half brother, Charles PICKWELL, at East Shelby. Mrs. Robert DEXTER was his aunt and with her had always lived until he engaged in the cooperage business here.
William THOMPSON, of Smithville, died at the home of Oscar Gregory Thursday, the 15th. Having an abscess and not feeling well he came to see his mother and was taken with blood poison and died in a few days. The wife, who could not be with her husband, has much sympathy.

Mrs. Carrie HOWE THORPE, wife of M. Eugene THORPE, died at her home in Knowlesville at 8:30 last evening, aged 52 years.
Mrs. THORPE had been in failing health for some years, but the illness which resulted in her death was of but ten days’ duration. Sufferings she had borne with Christian fortitude, and many sorrows which had come into her life and been met bravely and with resignation. Mrs. THORPE was a member and active worker in the Presbyterian Church of Knowlesville and its Sunday School and also of the W. C T. U., the Parliamentary Law Club and the Ladies’ Hospital Association. She had a wide circle of friends both in Medina and Knowlesville who will mourn her loss.
Beside her husband she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Harry GOODWIN, of Briarcliffe Manor, N. Y., one sister, Mrs. William STARKWEATHER, of Knowlesville, and one brother, Dr. Dan HOWE, and her mother, Mrs. Mary HOWE, of this place.
The funeral will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at one o 'clock from the house. Burial will be in the family lot at Boxwood Cemetery.

Charles Henry THORPE died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. A. COOK, in Medina, Saturday morning, January 19th, 1907, after an illness of but a few hours.
Mr. THORPE was born in Cayuga county, this state, March 14th, 1822, and came to Knowlesville with his parents before he was ten years old. Thus he was a pioneer in this section, knowing both the privations and the pleasures of those early days. For seventy-five years his home had been on the one farm, now owned by his son, M. E. Thorpe. He was granted the desire of his heart in that he was able to be active until the end. He was fond of busying himself with such things as clever hands can find to do about a country home - the garden in the season, and at all times putting the needed screw or nail in place. He was a social kindly spirit and interested children and adults as well with stories of early days and ways. He could tell of the Revolutionary times, things he himself had heard as a boy from his grandfather, a soldier in that war. Only the day before he died he called upon many of his Medina friends and took a drive about town.
Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. COOK, Monday afternoon, and the body borne to its resting place in Boxwood cemetery. He passed away from earth respected by neighbors, loved by friends. He was the last to go of a family of seven brothers and sisters. A daughter and two sons survive him with their children and grandchildren.

M. Eugene THORPE, a widely known citizen of this section, passed away suddenly from effect of shock at his late home in Holley, Thursday, February 2. He was 70 years of age, born on the Thorpe Homestead on the Telegraph road where he made his home for over 60 years. He was prominent in agricultural affairs, conducting a produce business at Knowlesville Station for many years. In early life he married Miss Carrie HOWE of Knowlesville, whose death occurred in 1911. In 1913 he married Miss Katherine BOWEN of Medina who survives him; also one daughter, Mrs. H. H. GOODWIN of New York City and four grandchildren. The funeral was held at the home of Erwin BOWEN in Medina, Saturday afternoon.

Lyndonville - Mrs. Carrie F. THURBER, 75, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lucien A. WEBBER, 134 North Main Street, shortly before noon Saturday. Her body has been taken to New Woodstock, N. Y., where funeral services and burial will be held tomorrow.
Mrs. TURBER was born at Cortland, October 30, 1975, daughter of Marvin D. THURBER and Ellen COON THURBER. She has been confined to her bed since last November when she suffered an injury. She had made her home with Prof. and Mrs. WEBBER here for the past year and a half. Surviving besides her daughter is one son, C. J. THURBER, one grandson, and one great grandson, all of Cortland.

Alonzo I. THURSTON passed away at his home on Hedley street Christmas afternoon, aged 82 years. He had resided in Medina about thirty years, and was highly esteemed by a wide circle of acquaintances. He was a Christian Adventist in belief and died in the faith. Rev Mr. BURON, pastor of a church of that denomination in Rochester, officiated at the funeral on Tuesday afternoon.
Surviving are his widow (Phebe), three daughters, Mrs. Harriet BROWN, Mrs. Ernest I. HILL, Mrs. A. E. MILLER, and one son, Frank THURSTON. The interment took place at East Shelby Cemetery.

SUDDENLY CALLED AWAY,
S. B. THURSTON Struck by an Express Train and Instantly Killed.
Monday afternoon Stephen B. THURSTON, an old and highly esteemed
resident of this town, was almost instantly killed by the cars at
this station. The particulars of the sad event are as follows:
On the afternoon in question Mr. THURSTON went to the depot with a friend. He visited the freight house, where he remained a short time, when he started to return to the depot. Descending the steps of the platform, a strange fatality seems to have led him to abandon the path and to cross the freight track to the main line. Mr. THURSTON was very deaf, and this infirmity, together with the noise made by the outgoing accommodation, prevented his hearing the approach of the Atlantic Express, which came thundering along at the rate of six or seven miles an hour. The fireman of the express and others shouted to the doomed man with no avail. A moment and the pilot of the locomotive threw his feet forward, while at the same time his head hit the pilot beam, producing concussion that caused almost instant death. The body was thrown to one side, when it was at once surrounded by people axious to learn if the shock had been fatal. A physician was hastily summoned, but the earthly life of the old man was gone beyond recall. The body was placed in the depot, whence it was conveyed to the family residence on Park Street.
Mr. THURSTON was seventy-one years of age, and had been a resident of this town for sixty-three years. He was a man of genial presence and generous nature, and enjoyed the love of many friends. He leaves a wife, three sons and one daughter. The funeral of the deceased will be held this afternoon

A Holley woman was officially declared to have taken her own life after her death was discovered early yesterday morning by relatives at a home on Bennett Corners Rd., Town of Clarendon.
Mrs. Althea TIBERIO, 27, was found at about 12:15 a. m. yesterday by a brother-in-law, James FERRIS, who returned to his home with his family. The Ferris home is located at the corner of Bennett Corners Rd. and Taylor Rd., a short distance from where Mrs. TIBERIO herself lived with her husband, Dominic, and five children. As the Ferris family entered their driveway they discovered the young woman’s body near the house with a 20-gauge, bolt-action shotgun lying beside it. Several notes, one found on the body of the woman, indicated a suicide.
A certificate of death by suicide was issued yesterday by Coroner Arden Snyder of Holley who said that the woman had shot herself in the chest with the shotgun. Investigation was conducted by Trooper Sage of Brockport and Trooper Erickson of Gaines.

Illness Fatal to Edgar TIFFANY, Prominent Engineer at Birds Eye Snider Plant Here For Past
18 Years
Edgar TIFFANY, 63, chief engineer at the Birds Eye Snider plant of General Foods Corporation for the past 18 years died early Tuesday morning, October 17, 1944, in Dansville Hospital following a short illness.
He was born in Canton, (Stark Co.) Ohio, and received his early education in that community, later accepting a position with the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company at their Brockport (NY) canning plant where he remained for several years. About 18 years ago he entered the employ of the Birds Eye Snider plant as chief engineer and was in charge of all electrical, steam and power equipment at the local plant. His wide knowledge of engineering work proved a great asset to the canning industry and many times he was called to area plants to supervise installation or repairing of equipment used in the processing of foods.
Besides his wife, (Elizabeth EDGAR TIFFANY) he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Arlo WELLS (Martha Emogene Jean TIFFANY) of Buffalo, Mrs. Clarence ANDERSON (Dorothy Evelyn TIFFANY) of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Mrs. Wendell OSTERHOUT Marion Edith TIFFANY) of Mt. Morris and two sons, Walter TIFFANY of Avon and Ralph TIFFANY of Rochester.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Ivan R. Wood Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Thursday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery at Albion.

ALBION - Miss Fannie S. TILDEN, 89, who has been making her home with the Rev. and Mrs. Earl I. Hamlin, died Saturday in Rochester Hospital. She was a member of the Albion First Presbyterian Church, and leaves no close relatives.
Friends may call at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home where a service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, with burial in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Charles A. TILLMAN, of Holley, was stricken with apoplexy on Wednesday evening last. He had been up to the depot and on returning was found holding on the fence groaning. He was asked if he was sick and replied that his head was paining him and asked to be taken home, but was removed to a house near by, where he died in a few moments.

Jacob TILLS died Friday morning at his home in the Ridge road in the town of Gaines. He was prominent in democratic politics and served in his town as supervisor and assessor. He was a member of Albion lodge, B. P. O. Elks.

Mrs. Ann TIMMERMAN passed away yesterday afternoon at the Medina Hospital, in the 89th year of her age. Deceased was the widow of the late George TIMMERMAN, was the last of the NICHOL family, who were pioneers in the town of Alabama. She had resided on the farm southwest of Medina since her marriage, sixty years ago. The funeral will be held from the residence of Miss Fannie Fisher on Center street, Friday afternoon at three o;clock, Rev. C. B. Sparks officiating. Interment at Boxwood Cemetery.

TIMMERMAN - Died at his home, in the town of Shelby, April 19th, 1875, Christopher TIMMERMAN, in his 75th year.
Mr. T. was one of the oldest residents in the Town, having settled here with his father's family in the year 1812. For nearly fifty years he was identified with the Methodist Church; he was one of the first members of the society at Shelby Basin, which for years was the strong hold of Methodism in this section. His record both as a citizen and christian has been emblemished(sic). He died in great peace. His funeral was very largely attended. Rev. Mr. Stover, a former pastor, officiated; in his preliminary remarks he paid an appreciating tribute to his memory and worth, after which he delivered with great earnestness and unction, a very able and practical discourse, from 2 Cor. 5, 1.

Mrs. Sarah TIMMERMAN, aged 88 years, widow of the late Zeno TIMMERMAN, died in Rochester on Sunday last. The body was brought to the home of her son, Burt D. TIMMERMAN on West avenue, where the funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. W. M. Heisler officiating. The interment was at West Shelby. William J. TIMMERMAN, who started last week, in company with his wife and two daughters, for Genesis, Tenn., was taken sick while en route for that place and died on Sunday at Lansing, Tenn. The immediate cause of his death is said to have been neuralgia of the heart. The remains were taken to Genesis for interment. Deceased was about 63 years of age and leaves a wife, two daughters--Mrs. H. N. BROWN and Mrs. Will BEECHER--and two sons--R. W. and John TIMMERMAN, of this place. Two brothers--Zeno and Uriel TIMMERMAN--of Lyndonville, and one sister--Mrs. Albert FRARY, of this place,--survive him.

Mrs. Henrietta HATFIELD TINKHAM, widow of the late G. (Grove) I. TINKHAM, aged 84 years, passed away Monday morning at her home on West Avenue, after a long illness. She was one of Medina's oldest residents and for many years a teacher in the schools here. She is survived by one son Herbert TINKHAM, of Amityville, L.I., one daughter, Mrs. Mabel PINTLER, of Medina; one stepson Fred TINKHAM of Jamestown and three grandchildren; Nevada and Eleanor TINKHAM of Amityville and Herbert PINTLER, of Medina. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in Boxwood Cemetery.

Morris TINKHAM died at his home in Akron, Saturday evening, May 23d, 1903. Mr. TINKHAM was one of a family of twelve children, whose parents settled in Orleans county about 1820, where the deceased was born on January 31st., 1835, and lived until about April 1st. 1903, when he sold the old homestead and moved to Akron where several of his children own their own homes. He experienced religion early in life and had been a constant and earnest christian worker in the M. E. Church, at East Shelby as long as his health permitted.
He was married to Miss Julia WINCHESTER, of Attica, N. Y., December 2d, 1858, and to them seven daughters and four sons were born, all of whom survive him, except one daughter, Pearl, who died about twelve years ago, at the age of fourteen. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Minerva HATHAWAY, of Chicago, who is 81 years of age, Mrs. Eliza R. DORRANCE, of Albion, N. Y., 74 years of age, and Mrs. Mariette NEAL, of Wichita, Kansas, 72 years of age.
The funeral was held from the family home, Tuesday morning at 8:30 o’clock, and at the M . E. church at East Shelby. Interment was Millville Cemetery. The afflicted family have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in their sad loss. - Akron News.

Died - In Jeddo, July 14th, Mr. John TODKILL, aged 65 years. The deceased was a great sufferer for many weeks, but he was patient and uncomplaining, ready and anxious to depart whenever his hour should come - He was a firm and unwavering believer in the great salvation. The death of another pioneer resident of Orleans County occurred on Thursday evening April 8th, at his home at County Line. William TODKILL was born in England seventy years ago and came to this country in 1840 with his parents. His marriage to Miss Catherine MARSHALL, one of the noblest women of County Line, occurred in ____. She lived and blessed his happy home until 1889 when she was called to her last resting place. Three children survive him - Marshall and Almer TODKILL and Miss Jennie TODKILL. They will sadly miss a kind and indulgent parent in this last bereavement, and the large circle of relatives and friends will also miss an honorable and obliging neighbor who by his strict adherance to uprightness as of character, temperate, industrious and moral _____ leaves a rich legacy to those who survive him.
The circumstances connected with the death of the deceased serve to render the feelings of the grief stricken family more uncontrollable. Mr. TODKILL was in his usual health during the last day of his life (although some four weeks previous he was under the doctor's treatment suffering from heart trouble) and after the family had retired for the night, he took a lantern to the horse-barn, presumeably to look after the carriage horse and was taken ill immediately after entering the carriage house, where his dead body was found next morning, the lantern still burning at his feet and a slight scalp wound on the back of his head and a small pool of blood on the floor. The surprise was like a thunder-bolt from a clear sky. Telegrams were immediately dispatched and a large assemblage gathered at the house of mourning on the following Sunday afternoon at one o'clock to pay the last tribute of respect to their much esteemed friend and neighbor. Rev. W. W. Custin?, pastor of the County Line M. E. Church, discoursed from __ Timothy ____, and also pronounced an appropriate ealogy to the deceased, after which the choir rendered choice selections, closing with "Nearer my God to Thee." The remains were conveyed to the County Line cemetery (Niagara County) and placed beside those of his companion in life.

She leaves her husband, Stephen of Holley Road; two sons, Stephen Jr. of Holley and Anthony of Kent; one daughter, Margaret ODRE of Barre Center; one sister, Miss Rose KENDALL of Buffalo, several grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Joanna TOMELKA 79, who died at her residence. 214 Pleasant Street, last night, following a lingering illness, will be held Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock from her late residence and 10 o’clock in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery and the Rev. Max T. Bogacki will officiate.
Mrs. TOMELKA came to this country from Poland when a young woman of 21, and had resided in Medina since. For the past 53 years she lived at her late residence. She was a member of the Ladies Catholic Benevolent Association, branch 47, and the Sacred Heart Church.
Surviving are a son, Michael, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph RAYMONDJACK, Syracuse; a brother, William CIELEWICH, of Medina; two sisters, Mrs. Proxeda WOCHNA and Mrs. Joanna JUTKEWICZ, both of Medina; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Dr. H. V. TOMPKINS for fifty years a practicing physician at Knowlesville died yesterday afternoon, aged seventy-five years.
Dr. H. C. TOMPKINS, a prominent physician of Orleans County, died at his home in Knowlesville August 6th, after an illness of only a few weeks. His age was 75 years. Besides his wife (Orinda M. GARLICK) he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E. H. (Mary) PORTER of Albany, and two sons, Dr. E.(Edward) M. TOMPKINS and Warren TOMPKINS, both of Knowlesville. The funeral occurred Saturday. Interment at the Tanner Cemetery.

Mrs. Hattie MERRILL, 55 years of age, wife of Dr. E. (Edward) M. TOMPKINS, passed away on Friday morning last at the family residence at Knowlesville. Mrs. TOMPKINS had been ill for many weeks. She had been for years a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church and choir and very active in missionary work. She is survived by her aged mother, Mrs Lorraine MERRILL; her husband, and two sons, Dr. Hartwell K. TOMPKINS of Lyndonville and Albert TOMPKINS at home. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon, Rev. Allen TOMS, aged 73 years, of Lyndonville, was fatally injured at three o'clock Friday afternoon on Tollgate hill north of Lockport. He was riding to Buffalo with Judson Swift, also of Lyndonville, on a truck loaded with hogs. On the hill he jumped off to see if everything was alright. In climbing back on the running board he slipped and fell under the truck, one wheel passing over his leg. He was rushed to the Lockport hospital where he died at 5:30 from shock and a broken leg. Coroner F. A. Kittinger granted a certificate of accidental death and the body was taken to Lyndonville. He is survived by two stepdaughters, Mrs. John BACON, of Gasport and Mrs. Cora WEBBER of Lyndonville and one step-brother, Truman TOMS of Lyndonville.

Lyndonville - The death of Mrs. Ida TOMS, 85, widow of the late Truman TOMS, occurred suddenly at the home of her son Neil D. TOMS, Maple Avenue, Sunday afternoon, March 9. About ten days ago she suffered a heart attack and although she had been confined to her bed since that time, she seemed to be gaining in strength, until this second attack came Sunday.
Born in Lyndonville, April 16, 1861 she was the eldest child of the late Morrell and Alletta THAYER DATES, and had lived her entire life in the community. In 1888 she married Truman TOMS, who died in June, 1944. She was a charter member of Yates Chapter 215 O.E.S. and served as its Worthy Matron in 1909. She was also a member of the W.B.A. formerly known as the Lady Macabees.
Mrs. Toms is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert C. SMYTHE; one son, Neil D. TOMS, a grandson, Millard T. SMYTHE, all of Lyndonville and a granddaughter, Mrs. Francis POWLEY of Fruit Avenue, Medina. Also two great grandsons, Randall and Jeffrey SMYTHE; a sister Mrs. Jay DANIELS and a brother, Charles DATES, all of Lyndonville; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m., Wednesday afternoon, March 12, from the Smythe Funeral Home. Rev. Thomas Tighe of the Presbyterian Church will officiate and burial in Lynhaven Cemetery.

LYNDONVILLE — Mrs. Irene M. TOMS, 84, of 21 Maple Ave., died suddenly yesterday at Buffalo General Hospital after a fall in Lyndonville. Mrs. TOMS was born in the Town of Yates, April 16, 1891. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lyndonville and the Standby Class and Guild of that church. She was a member of the Yates Order of Eastern Star for 60 years, and warder for 28 years. A member of the Lyndonville Historical Society, and Library and Historical Club, she also belonged to the Senior Citizen's of Western Orleans. Mrs. TOMS retired from H. Heinz Co. and Southland Foods.
Her husband, Neil D. Toms, died in 1968. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Theda) POWLEY of Medina, five grandchildren, F. Edward POWLEY of Lyndonville, Thomas POWLEY of Barker, and Penny, Timothy and Patrice all of Medina; several nieces and nephews.
Beginning tomorrow, friends may call (2-4, 7-9) at the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St. where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Richard Billingsley of the Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in West Ridgeway Cemetery. An Eastern Star service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church or the Lyndonville Library.

Mrs Martha TOMS, 83, died suddenly Friday at her home in Lyndonville as the result of a stroke. Her husband, Millard F. TOMS, a railroad mail clerk, was killed November 7, 1905, in a railroad accident. Mrs. TOMS was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Yates Chapter, O. E. S., and an honorary member of the Literary and Historical Club.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Ned F. LANGDON of Lyndonville; two grandchildren, Mrs. Clifford ZANOW of Lyndonville, and Robert M. LANGDON of Ithaca; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs Nicholas ROBINSON of Lyndonville and Mrs. Anthony O’DONNELL Of Medina. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Harry A. Depfer officiating. Burial was in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Liverpool, Oswego, Nov. 11. - George Ecker, who was killed in the wreck at Liverpool last Tuesday morning, left a widow of his bride of three weeks. Ecker was 21 years old and lived up to the time he entered the employ of the New York Central railroad, three years ago, with his parents in Hannibal. His father, Lawrence Ecker, has held the position of section foreman on the Hannibal division more than a quarter of a century.
Young Ecker brought his young wife to his city and they boarded at No. 165 West Sixth street. They made many friends and were highly esteemed. It is doubtful if there was a more popular young man in the employ of the Central company. His father was among those who went to the scene of the wreck that morning, but he had no idea that his son had been fatally injured until he arrived at Liverpool.
John Miller, the engineer of the passenger train on which Ecker was the fireman, is one of three brothers who have spent their lives in the employ of the Rome, Watertown & Ogdensburg Railroad company. John is the first to meet with an accident or to be in a wreck of any kind.
Mail Agent *Milton F. Toms, who was killed, ran into this city for nearly thirty years. He was well known and had a large circle of friends. Employes of the Oswego Postoffice attended the funeral, held at Lyndonville Thursday. (*NOTE: Mr. Toms given name was Millard, not Milton.)

LYNDONVILLE - Neil D. TOMS, 75, of 21 Maple Ave., died in his home early today after a lengthy illness. A native of Lyndonville, he was born April 18, 1892, the son of Truman and Ida DATES TOMS. Except for a short period when he resided in Buffalo during World War I he had spent his lifetime in Lyndonville.
An electrician by trade, he had been employed by the H. J. Heinz Co. in Medina for 20 years. On Jan. 1, 1914 he married Irene FISK, also of Lyndonville. Mr. and Mrs. TOMS celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1964.
Mr. TOMS was a member of United Presbyterian Church of Lyndonville, a member of Yates Lodge No. 675 F&AM, which he served as a master for two terms during the 1920s. A 32nd degree Mason, Mr. Toms was a member of the Buffalo Consistory. He was also a former chief of Lyndonville Fire Department. During recent years, he was an exempt member.
Surviving besides his widow are one daughter, Mrs. Francis (Theda) POWLEY, Fruit Ave., Medina; four grandchildren, F. Edward, Thomas, Penny and Timothy POWLEY. Also, one nephew, Millard T. SMYTHE of Lyndonville, two great-nephews and one great-great-nephew, as well as several cousins.
Friends may call at the Smythe Funeral Home today and Saturday (2-4 and 7-9) where funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. Richard Billingsley, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in West Ridgeway Cemetery.

Truman TOMS, aged 80, life-long resident of Lyndonville, passed away at his home in Maple ave., early Tuesday evening. He had been in poor health for the past two years.
Mr. TOMS was born in Lyndonville April 22, 1864, the son of Harmon and Margaret (ALLEN) TOMS. He was a member for many years of the firm of Toms & Plummer, builders, who constructed many of the local homes and business places, and the high school which was destroyed by fire a few years ago. He was a life member of Yates lodge, 675, F&A.M.
Surviving are his wife, Ida TOMS; one daughter, Mrs. Robert SMYTHE; a son, Neil TOMS; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held in the Smythe Funeral home today (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Harry A. Depfer officiating. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Died, at the home of her son in Medina, after a brief illness, on Saturday, the 27th ult., Mrs. Caroline TOPLIFF, aged seventy-eight ___ (One complete line is unreadable.) ____ services were held on Monday at two o’clock, Rev. C. H. Lester officiating. Mrs. TOPLIFF was born at Scipio, Cayuga, N. Y., and resided in Rochester until her marriage. She was a member of the Brick Church, Dr. Wisnor her pastor. She had spent the greater portion of her life in Orleans county and had endeared herself to many friends by her quiet, consistent christian life. Her daily example secured to her the love and regard of all favored with her acquaintance. Her love for others led her to forget self, more especially her family. No murmur escaped her lips, but ever looked forward with christian faith, anticipating a glorious home over there. Truly may it be said of her “Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord.”
She leaves a son, C.(or O.) M. TOPLIFF, and two daughters - Mrs. E. W. HARLOW, of Medina, and Mrs. H. C.(or O.) KEITH, of Ilion, N. Y.

The unexpected death of John S. TOPORZYCKI occurred at his home in Shelby Center last evening. Although in poor health for the past few months his condition was not thought to be serious. Mr. TOPORZYCKI came to this vicinity with his family from Buffalo about fifteen months ago and took over the ownership and management of the Shelby Center Hotel.
He is survived by his wife, Stella; one daughter, Mrs. Jane McPARLANE; two sons, Arthur of Buffalo and Henry of Shelby Center; one brother, William, of Buffalo, and several nieces and nephews.
Prayer services will be conducted by the Rev. Anthony A. CIECHANSKI Monday morning at 9:30 from the Thibault Funeral Home, followed by Requiem Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 10 o'clock. Burial will be made in St. Stanislaus Cemetery at Buffalo.
Mr. Toporzycki’s predecessor as owner of the Shelby Center Hotel, Patsy NAPOLI, was killed in an automobile accident on December 31.

ALBION - Arthur G. TOWER, 76, of Barre died Monday in the Rose Villa nursing home. He leaves three sons, Norris, Aldon and E. Mrs. Ilah TOWER, aged 35, a teacher in the Lyndonville schools died at the Medina Memorial Hospital today as a result of a fractured skull received when she was struck by an automobile driven by Joseph Flatt also of Lyndonville on Tuesday. Mrs. TOWER was on her way home to lunch and she was crossing the Main Street near the Citizen’s Bank Building when the accident happened. She was given first aid and immediately brought to the Medina Hospital.
She is survived by her mother who made her home with Mrs. TOWER and also by four small children.

Albion - Funeral services were held in the Merrill Funeral Home at 10 a. m. today for Stanislaus TOMNAKIEWICZ, 75, a former resident of Buffalo, who died suddenly in his Brown Street home on December 7. Services were held later in Corpus Christi Church in Buffalo with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Surviving is his widow.

Funeral services will be held at the Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Clarence Gee, retired clergyman of the Lockport Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Schanectady, Nov. 10. -- Llewelyn TOWNE, son of Dr. and Mrs. Herbert
L. TOWNE of 310 Union street, died of heart failure yesterday
afternoon at the New York Central station. He went to the station with
a large crowd of High school boys to help to give a good send-off to
the cross country team, which was leaving for Cornell. Probably
running helped to bring on the attack.

Andrew H. TOWNSEND, of Kendall, one of Orleans county’s oldest residents, was found dead on the floor of his barn, where he had gone to do his chores. He was 93 years old.

She was also a member of the VFW Post 475 Auxiliary and Johnson-Costello American Legion Post, the Moose Lodge and the Penn Ian Senior Citizens. She is survived by her son, C. Clarence L. TRAUB, formerly of Holley, NY, passed away peacefully in Sun City Center, Fla. on October 13, 2006 at the age of 94. Predeceased by wife Mildred and son Ray Howard. Survived by son Leroy (Gerri), daughter in law Shirley, grandchildren Debi TRAUB, Sharon (James) SMITH, Laurie (Robert) BALLARD, Rae (Scott) EDWARDS, David (Tracy) TRAUB, Kellie (Thomas) ALLRIDGE, 19 great grandchildren. Sister in laws Almah (Alfred) MILES and Clara HAIGHT. Special friends Judith Roseberry, Sally Carril and Pearl Weeden who gave him comfort in his final days.
In 1976 he retired from Kodak with 30+ years. He loved to dance, bowl and enjoyed volunteer work. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Holly, 25 Geddes Street. Ray Howard TRAUB, 56, of Allen Road, died suddenly January 5 at Medina Memorial Hospital. He was born in Albion and had lived in the Albion-Holley areas all his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albion. Mr. TRAUB was president of Hart Hose Co. #3 of the Albion Fire Department. He was a life member of the Western New York Volunteer Fireman's Association and was a past trustee of that organization as well as an official for their drill team. He was also a member of the New York State Volunteer Fireman's Association and was a past president of the Orleans County Volunteer Fireman's Association.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley (SPINK) TRAUB; four daughters, Deborah TRAUB of Fairport, Sharon (James) SMITH of Waterport, Laurie (Robert) BALLARD of Albion and Rae Traub of Rochester; six grandchildren; his father Clarence TRAUB of Sun City Center, Florida; a brother, LeRoy TRAUB of Delaware; one niece, one nephew, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family recieved friends at Christopher-Mitchell Funeral Homes Inc., 21 West Avenue, where a funeral service was held Saturday. The Albion Fire Department officiated a memorial service at the funeral home Friday evening. Internment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Holley. Memorial gifts may be given to the family.

Mrs. Carrie TRIPP passed away suddenly at her home Sunday afternoon, March 8, 1931, aged 64 years, six months and eight days.
She was the wife of the late Grant TRIPP, who preceded her eighteen years ago. Mrs. TRIPP, by her pleasing personality, had won the love and esteem of a large circle of friends, who mourn her loss. A friend or neighbor afflicted or ill was always visited with sympathy and a helping hand. She loved beauty and with excellent taste adorned her home indoors and out with flowers. Mrs. TRIPP was a member of County Line Methodist church, an active worker and officer in the Ladies’ Aid. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the King’s Daughters of Lyndonville.
Mrs. TRIPP is survived by two sons, Roy, of California and Leo, of Lyndonville; two daughters, Mrs. Hattie SNOWDON of Millers and Mrs. Rena COE of Wilson; nine grandchildren one great-grandchild, two half-brothers and three half-sisters.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at her home, Rev. Frederick Mittlefehldt, assisted by Rev. Ernest Scott, officiating. Burial was in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Roy TRIPP, who was operated upon for appendicitis at the Medina Hospital on Monday, died last night. Her age was twenty-nine years. Besides her husband, she is survived by four children under eight years of age.

Edith, the beloved wife of Roy H. TRIPP passed to the higher life, at the Medina hospital, after a brief illness, April 14, 1915. She is survived by her husband and four children: Hildreth, Clifford, Harriet and Helen; a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Charles KENYON, a brother Henry, a sister Ruth, all of Hartland; and a sister, Mrs. Nettie CONLEY, of Lyndonville. The deceased was born in the town of Somerset, near Millers, 29 years ago last June, and had lived nearly all her life in the town of Yates, since her marriage, until last fall, when she moved to Medina. Her kind and amiable disposition won for her many friends who sincerely mourn her loss. The funeral was held in the Methodist Church at Lyndonville, Rev. R. E. Brettle, of Waterport officiating, assisted by Rev. B.(R?) R. Germer, pastor of the church. Interment was in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Albion - Frank TRIPP, an Albion postal employee for over 40 years and deputy postmaster here for 25 years, died in the Hazard Nursing Home yesterday, two days after his 76th birthday anniversary. He was a member of the Albion Baptist Church, the Albion IOOF Lodge and Renovation Lodge, F&AM.
Friends may call at the Grinnell Funeral Home at 230 South Main Street, Albion, where Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. tomorrow and where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Howard WOODS of Albion and Mrs. Homer ROGERS of Brockport; a son, Rollen TRIPP of California; a grandson, Douglas Alan ROGERS of Brockport, and several nieces and nephews.

Hiram TRIPP died at his home on Hedley street on Saturday last, of jaundice, aged 64 years. Deceased formerly resided in the town of Yates, removing to Medina about a year ago. The funeral occurred on Monday, the interment taking place in the West Ridgeway Cemetery.

Batavia - Stricken with a heart attack while attending the harness races at Batavia Downs Wednesday night (Oct. 17, 1951), Leo G. TRIPP, 56, a Lyndonville livestock dealer, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Jerome’s Hospital. He had been under treatment for a heart ailment. Mr. TRIPP was widely known through his cattle dealings in this area. He collapsed in the grandstand and was rushed to the hospital by track attendants. Born in the town of Yates, Mr. TRIPP has resided in that vicinity all his life. He was associated with the late Charles 0. TURNER in a meat market in Lyndonville for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace E. (TURNER) TRIPP; two daughters, Mrs. Paul PARSONS and Mrs. Gerald HOUSEMAN, both of Lyndonville; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edward SNOWDEN of Lyndonville and Mrs. Clare COE of Wilson, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 p. m. tomorrow at the Smythe Funeral Home in Lyndonville with the Rev. Ray Draffin of the Lyndonville Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.

County Line: The remains of Mrs. M. E. TRIPP, of East Saginaw, Michigan, were brought to Medina in charge of her son, Liston EDMONDS, and buried at Shelby Center Cemetery last Saturday. Deceased was seventy-three years of age, and the widow of the late Daniel TRIPP, of County Line, and at one time the widow of Dr. (Almon) EDMONDS, of Shelby Center, by whom she leaves two sons now residing in Michigan.
She survivied her last husband just nine years, and died on the 17th inst., on the same day of the same month, at her late home. The funeral occurred on Friday. Her death resulted from a fall on a low step, receiving internal injuries which lasted only two days. Mr. EDMONDS left on Monday of this week, visiting friends at Tonawanda, on his return to his home in East Saginaw.

Samuel TRIPP, 67, a former Albion resident, died Thursday in Kibbie, Mich. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Henry G. DAUM of Albion and Mrs. J.B. Storms of Lockport; two brothers, William L. TRIPP of Barre and Frank TRIPP of Albion.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 from the McNall Funeral Home on South Main St. Burial was in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Virgil TRIPP, aged 29 years, and a World War veteran, passed away at the National Soldiers’ Home at Bath early Sunday morning. Mr. TRIPP's death was due to heart disease and other complications. He had been in a serious condition for some time and for the past few months has been undergoing treatment at the Bath Soldiers’ hospital. Mr. TRIPP served in the navy during the war. Since that time he has been an active member of the James P. Clark Post of the American Legion and at the time of his death was vice commander of the local post.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Verna TRIPP; a daughter, Norma, and his mother, who resides at Albion. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Albert WRIGHT of Medina and Mrs. Hoffman RUGER of Murray and a brother, Warner TRIPP of Syracuse.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from his late home on Eagle Street. Burial will be at Mt. Albion Cemetery.

ALBION - Mrs. Domenica BELL TRIVISOND died unexpectedly Saturday while on a trip to visit a son in Souderton, Pa. She had suffered a heart attack in Caledonia. She was traveling with a son, Angelo BELL, and his family, of LeRoy, to visit another son, Edwin.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church of Albion and its Rosary Society. She leaves her husband, Charles of Albion; three sons, Angelo of LeRoy; Gilbert of Albion and Edwin of Souderton; a daughter, Miss Marie BELL of Albion; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Pasquale DiLaura of Albion and Silver DiLAURA of Hartford, Conn.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Jesse W. TROLLEY, father of Dr. William R. TROLLEY of Medina, whose death occurred at his Riches Corners home near Albion yesterday, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. from his late home. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
Active in fraternal circles he was a member of the Albion Independent Order of Odd Fellows and F & AM Lodge and the Albion Elks.

Anthony TROSKUSKE, aged 67, died suddenly Sunday morning at his home 110 Chadwick street, after a brief illness. The deceased had been a resident of Medina for the past forty-eight years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A., three daughters, May V., Anna M., and Chrysteen and one son John E. The funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s church at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Miss Mary V. TROSKUSKE, 61, died sometime during last night at her home, 110 Chadwick St., where she had been confined by illness for over two years. Her death was discovered this morning by her brother, John E. TROSKUSKE with whom she lived.
A member of the American Legion for many years, she earned this membership through her service with the Army Nurse Corps during World War I when she was stationed at several hospitals throughout the country. A graduate of Rochester General Hospital Nursing School, she engaged in private nursing duty during later years and traveled extensively in connection with this work. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church here.
Surviving in addition to her brother are two sisters, Miss Anna M. TROSKUSKE, a teacher at Oak Orchard Street grade school, and Mrs. Chrystine NELLING of St. Thomas, Pa.
Friends are to be received at the O'Reilly Funeral Home, East Center Street. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Church Thursday morning at 9 a.m.

Mrs. Anna STRABA TROW, 79, widow of the late George TROW, Harrison Road farmer, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sam RANALLO, 213 Glenwood Avenue. Mrs. TROW had been ill for several years.
She was born in Germany, June 7, 1875, daughter of Julius and Wilhamina GOETZ STRABA, and came to this country at the age of six. She resided on Harrison Rd., south of Medina, for many years during the time that her husband engaged in farming.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. RANALLO; one son, Charles TROW of Medina, and several grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, Pearl Street. Further funeral arrangements are incomplete.

She lived just long enough to ___ around her the affections of father and mother, when He who said, “Suffer little children to come unto me,” called her to the home of many ____. Her funeral was held at the Methodist Episcopal Church, Millville, Rev. J.H. Freeland preaching the funeral sermon from Luke 1_:14. The afflicted mother was hindered though sickness from being present.

Mrs. Anna Belle TRUAX, widow of Henry TRUAX, of 22 Mill Street Middleport, died Saturday evening at the Criswell Nursing Home Medina.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jessie McCLEAN of Middleport; one son, Maurice TRUAX of Portsmouth, Va.; one granddaughter and one greatgrandson; one brother, George BRADBURN of Oakfield and one sister, Mrs. Harry HUMMELBAUGH of Buffalo. She was a member of the Universalist Church.
Friends may call at the Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State Street, Middleport, from where services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Gail Bascombe officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby.

Mrs. Caroline TRUAX, whose death occurred Saturday at the home of her son, Peter TRUAX, was 97 years of age. Her husband died a few years ago at the age of 100 years.
—Mm. Caroline TRUAX, aged ninety-seven years, died Saturday at the home of her son, Peter TRUAX, on the Gravel Road. Deceased was born in Niagara County and had passed nearly all of her life there. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at her son's home. Interment at West Shelby.
Mrs. Caroline TRUAX, who was born in Niagara county and had there passed nearly all of her long life, died on Saturday at the home of her son in Medina, aged 97 years. Her husband lived to be over 100 years old. The funeral was held Monday afternoon, the interment being at West Shelby.
Lockport, July 28.—Caroline TRUAX, 97 years old. was buried at Middleport yesterday. Mrs. Truax was born at Guilderland. Albany County, about sixteen miles from the capital. 97 years ago, Guilderland was on the old western turnpike and a rather noted village in those days. She was the daughter of James CAMERON, a hardy pioneer of Eastern New York, who lived to be 104 years old. His active participation in the making of the county extended back prior to the Revolutionary period and Mrs. TRUAX had the history of the colonies by word of mouth from a living witness in some of its most interesting places. Her narratives of the struggles of the pioneers were remarkably interesting. Mrs. TRUAX's husband died in 1868 at the age of 68. She leaves two sons and one daughter, seventeen grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. The six bearers at the funeral were grandsons.

Mark Ephram TUCKER, 67, a Knowlesville native and recently resident of Niagara Falls, passed away yesterday in Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Niagara Falls. Recently retired, Mr. TUCKER had been employed last by the General Abrasive Company in that city as a millwright.
He is survived by his wife, Clarabell TUCKER of Niagara Falls five sons, William of Cobbleskill, Francis of Newfane, Walter of Niagara Falls, Raymond of Knowlesville, and Robert, now with the Army Air Forces in San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Florence ALLEN of Millville, Mrs. Rose AUSTIN of Oak Orchard and Mrs. Harriet GUNTHER of Medina. Two brothers, Howard TUCKER of Albion, and Percy TUCKER of Fulton also survive together with 17 grandchildren and serveral nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 from the McNall Funeral Home, 156 South Main Street, Albion, with Rev. Kenneth BAKER of Millville officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today and Thursday in the afternoon and evening.

Mrs. Martha WILSON TUCKER, 69, wife of A.(Albert) H. TUCKER, 413 Park Avenue, and a lifelong resident of Medina, died Sunday morning in the Medina Memorial Hospital. In ill health for the past seven months, Mrs. TUCKER was a patient at the hospital for nine days. Born April 24, 1877, in Medina, she lived here all of her life. Mrs. TUCKER was a member of the Baptist Church for over fifty years, and was active in church affairs and societies.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Theodore LEACH of Jefferson, Ohio; one sister, Miss Bertha A. WILSON, and one brother, William C. WILSON, both of Medina. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p. m. from her late residence, with the Rev. Ralph D. Ross of the Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Boxwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary M. TUCKER, of 60 Weldon Street, Rochester, and formerly of Medina, died early New Year’s day morning at the Genesee Hospital, that city, where she had been ill since December 27, suffering from a cerbral hemorrhage. The funeral will be held from Hedges Funeral Home in Rochester Thursday morning at 11 oclock, with the Rev. Sherman Haven, assistant pastor of Central Church, officiating. The body will be brought to Medina following the service for interment in the family lot in Boxwood Cemetery.
Mrs. TUCKER was the daughter of the late Henry Horace and Frances E. CHASE, Medina, where she was born. She was twice married, first to James F. MacCARGO of Medina, who died in 1904, and later to Melvin E. TUCKER, of Rochester, a native of Vermont, who died about twenty years ago.
Mrs. TUCKER is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jean MacCARGO STAMPE, a son, Donald J. MacCARGO, both of Rochester, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann MacCARGO; also two brothers, Dr. John P. CHASE and Harry A. CHASE, of Rochester. Mrs. TUCKER was a cousin of Miss Alice Louise CHASE of Medina.

Mrs. Nellie Ryan TUCKER, wife of Mr. Smith TUCKER, died at her home on West avenue Monday night, October 10. After an illness of about two years duration, the sufferings from which were borne by her with a patience that leaves with her family hollowed memories of the sick room, the end came quietly as her spirit went to join the loved ones gone before.
She was the fourth daughter of the late John and Hannah RYAN, and was born at Little Falls, N. Y., on August 3rd, 1842. Her parents, after a temporary residence there, returned to this village when she was one year old and, since then, her entire life has been passed here. An earnest Christian woman, she has been a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church from childhood, and active in its work so long as her health permitted.
Her attachment to her friends was ever strong, and they always found a welcome in her home, with the cheery greeting she was wont to give. It was in the home life where her character was best known. She was devoted to her family and their interests were always her greatest care. Of a kindly affectionate nature, she was a faithful mother, whose happiness was found within the family circle, where her presence and influence were of so great moment to her dear ones. How truly of her it could be said, "She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.’’
Of her parent’s large family but three sisters and one brother are now living - Mrs. Kate VanDUSEN, of Rochester, Mrs. Albert J. HILL, Miss Imogene Ryan and Fred C. Ryan of this place. For her husband, her sons - John B. and Albert H., her daughters - Jean and Kate L., together with her sisters and brother, the deep sympathy of all their friends is extended in this great sorrow. The funeral was held at the home this afternoon, by Rev. F. S. Parkhurst, Ph.D., and the burial was in Boxwood Cemetery.

Stanislaus TULOWIECKI (TUOHEY), 85 yrs. old, of 515 High St. died Saturday evening in the Medina Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. He was born in Poland and came to America as a young man. Mr. TULOWIECKI and his wife, Anelia ZAKRZEWSKI, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.
He was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Society. Mr. TULOWIECKI had worked at the Butts & Slack Foundry here as a moulder for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. James CROMWELL and Miss Cecelia TUOHEY of Rochester; Mrs. Catherine EMMONS of Warren, Ohio; Mrs. Samuel VELEBIT of North Evans; Mrs. Anthony LUCCHINO of Buffalo; Mrs. Bernard FELTS (FELTZ) of Medina; also, four sons, Max, Carl, Walter and Richard, all of Medina, 21 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Prayer services will be held Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from the Gulinski Funeral Home, 420 Eagle St. Funeral Mass will be said at the Sacred Heart Church at 9:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph RYDZ officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

George TUOHEY, 69, a life long resident of Medina, died at his home on South Academy Street this morning, following a brief illness. Mr. TUOHEY was born in Medina on September 17, 1870, the son of the late Timothy and Mary SMITH TUOHEY. He was a member of the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving him are two sisters, Miss Katharine TUOHEY, of Medina, and Mrs. Thomas L. KINSELLA, of Buffalo; one nephew, Joseph L. KINSELLA, and one niece, Mrs. Irving J. FERREL, both of Buffalo. He is also survived by several cousins. Funeral services will be held at the St. Mary's Church Monday moring at 9:00 o'clock with interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The Rev. James A. Hogan will officiate at the services.

James M. TUOHEY, 78, of 222 Eagle Street, former Medina postmaster, an assessor of the Village of Medina, and former member of the Board of Trustees, died this morning at a Gasport nursing home, following a long illness.
Born in Medina, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ellen (Kearney) TUOHEY, and had resided here his entire lifetime. Mr. TUOHEY was appointed as postmaster of the Medina Post Office in May 1913, serving until May 1921. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees from April 1, 1924, until April 1, 1932, and was at present an assessor for the village, to which office he was appointed in April 1942. Last April he was reappointed to the position for a three-year term.
Prior to his appointment as postmaster, Mr. TUOHEY was employed at the New York Central Railroad as freight agent for a fifteen year period, following which he entered the general insurance business, which he operated until 1913. The business was sold to Emmett KEARNEY and Charles P. SLACK, and is at present conducted by Mr. SLACK.
A communicant of St. Mary's Church, Mr. TUOHEY was a member of the Holy Name Society of the Church and a commissioner of St. Mary’s Cemetery. He was a charter member and one of the organizers of Medina Council Knights of Columbus, and a past grand knight of the council. He was also a member of Medina Lodge of Elks.
His only survivors are three cousins, Miss Katherine TUOHEY and Mrs. Mayme CONSELLO, both of Medina; and Emmett KEARNEY of Fort Wayne, Ind. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 8:30 o’clock from the Cleary Funeral Home, Park Avenue, and at 9 o’clock at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

[Lyndonville] Charles O. TURNER, aged 78, died at his home in Church st. early Saturday morning, Oct. 2. He was born in the town of Yates on March 26, 1865, son of the late Joseph and Charlotte TURNER. He was a business man in Lyndonville, owning a meat market for over 35 years until poor health about nine years ago forced him to retire. He was a member of Yates Lodge 675, F. & A. M.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Fannie (LUM) TURNER, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Leo TRIPP of Lyndonville; one sister, Mrs. Emma BRITT of Medina; two granddaughters and one great-grandchild, also of Lyndonville. Funeral service was held from the home Monday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Elmer Belknap of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Lynhaven Cemetery.
The bearers were: Edwin Barry, Roger Williams, Earl Henion, Richard Parsons, Homer Breed and Gane Sheppard.

Lyndonville - Mrs. Fannie A. TURNER, 84, died early Saturday morning, June 13, in the Bishop Nursing Home, Medina, where she had been a patient for about one year. She has been in failing health since fire partially destroyed her home. About a week thereafter in April, she fractured her shoulder in a fall.
Born in the Town of Yates on December 6, 1868, she was the daughter of Chauncey and Mary GARDNER-LUM. Her entire life was spent in the vicinity with the exception of 2 years in her childhood when the family resided in New Mexico. She attended Ridgeway Public School No. 2. On November 25, 1891, she united in marriage with Charles 0. TURNER and their married life was spent entirely in Lyndonville where Mr. TURNER owned and operated a meat market. His death occurred in October 1943.
Mrs. TURNER was a member of Lyndonville Methodist Church and the Gleaners Circle of W.S.C.C. She was a past matron of Yates Chapter No. 215 Order of Eastern Star and served as clerk of the Town of Yates for several years. Mrs. TURNER remained active in community and social affairs until quite recently when her health became impaired.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Grace TRIPP; two granddaughters, Mrs. Paul PARSONS and Mrs. Gerald HOUSEMAN, and 6 great grandchildren, all of Lyndonville. Also one sister, Mrs. M. P. RAPPLEYE, Rochester, and two brothers, David LUM, Rochester, and George LUM, LaSalle, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Smythe Funeral Home, the Rev. Raymond H. Draffin officiating. Burial was in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Josephine B. TURNER, 90, died Wednesday night at the Bishop Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Shelby, July 23, 1867, Mrs. TURNER had spent her entire lifetime in this vicinity, and taught for many years in the science department of Medina High School until her retirement.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Hartley TURNER, died in 1948.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Edith BUELL and Miss Christine BURLIN of Albion; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Helen TURNER, and three grandchildren of New York City. Friends may call at the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, Pearl St., where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. H. Burton ENTREKIN officiating. Mr. Wm. TURNER, one of Medina's most highly esteemed residents, died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Adam SCHWINN, of Buffalo, where he had been residing for about eighteen months. Mr. TURNER came from England when a boy of sixteen years and had resided here until a short time ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Adam SCHWINN and Mrs. William CALLAGHAN, of Buffalo, and one brother, Joseph TURNER, of Millville.
Remains will be brought here Thursday noon and services will be held at St. John's Church at one o'clock. Interment will be at Boxwood Cemetery.

ALBION - William H. TURNER, 57, died here Thursday after a long illness. He died while being taken to Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Georgia and had resided in Savannah, Ga., most his life, coming to Albion about a month ago to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Bernice ADDERLY. He also leaves two sons, William E. and Robert, both of New York City. Funeral arrangements are being made at the McNall Funeral Home at 156 S. Main St.

Died on Wednesday evening, February 11, after an illness of several months, at her home on West Center street, Mrs. Ellen Pauline TURRELL, aged seventy three years. Death was due to a complication of diseases. Mrs. TURRELL was born May 24th, 1846, near Waterbury, Conn., daughter of Elijah and Sarah Wheeler. In 1864 she married Thomas S. TURRELL, moved to Medina in 1872 where they have since resided. Mrs. TURRELL was a lady of rare personality and her demise will be sincerely regretted by a host of friends and the entire community. The surviving husband and brother, A. W. WHEELER, of Elmwood, Ill.; three cousins, Mrs. William LYNN, Mrs. Dollie MABBOTT and Mrs. William SIGNOR, of Waterbury, Connecticut, have the sympathy of all in their sad bereavement. The beautiful floral offerings spoke of the high esteem of the departed one. The funeral was held from the late home Friday afternoon, Rev. F. T. Latham officiating. The body was placed in the vault. Burial later in West Ridgeway Cemetery.

George TUSCH , 88, a retired car inspector for the New York Central Railroad, died at his home, Maple Ridge Road, Saturday afternoon. Born in Buffalo, Mr. Tusch retired from the Railroad in 1929 after 47 years of service. He had resided here for the past ten years.

This morning the solemn toll of the church bell announces that death has again come to our community. Mr. Abner TUTTLE, aged eighty-one years, died at the residence of his son Wilson TUTTLE. Thus has another of our venerable and much respected citizens departed; one who, for many years has been one of the energetic, industrious and substantial men of our town.
(NOTE: His wife was Sarah "Sally" McCRACKEN and preceded him in death 17 Jun 1861 (War of 1812 pension application shows they married 1 Jun 1817 in Camillus, Onondaga, NY). She was daughter of Capt. William J. and Hannah (YOUNGLOVE) McCRACKEN. He is said in Tuttle genealogies to have been son of Abijah and Sarah (DEAN) TUTTLE and was born in Stillwater, Albany (now Saratoga), NY. Both are buried in the Tuttle family plot, Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville, Orleans, NY.)

Mrs. Walter TUTTLE died on Sunday after a brief illness with pneumonia, aged nearly 36 years. Funeral was held Tuesday from the residence. Interment in Lynhaven cemetery. The large attendance at the funeral was an eloquent testimony to the high esteem in which she was held by those who knew her. The King's Daughters of which she was a member, attended in a body. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful.

Mrs. Clarie A. TUTTLE of Brockport and one-time resident of Clarendon and Holley, passed away Monday, May 20, 1946, at the home of her son, Ray, in Clarkson at the age of 81 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lottie (or Louie) D. SMITH of Brockport and Mrs. C. A. GILMON of Rochester; two sons, Harris B. TUTTLE of Rochester and Ray B. TUTTLE of Clarkson; one brother, Charles BALL of Brockport, and several grandchildren. Mrs. TUTTLE’s husband, who died some years ago, built and operated the cheese factories which once flourished in Clarendon, Holley and Sandy Creek.
Funeral services are scheduled for this afternoon, May 23, 1946, at Dunn’s Funeral Home, Brockport, at 2:30 P.M. Interment will be in High Street Cemetery, Brockport.

Mrs. Cornelia TUTTLE, an old and highly esteemed resident, died suddenly at her residence on Monday evening of heart disease. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the late residence. Deceased leaves two sons - Horace H. TUTTLE of Rochester, and Walter A. TUTTLE, of Lyndonville.

William Lester TUTTLE, a lifelong resident of the town of Yates, died Thursday morning at his home in the E. Yates Center rd. He was born in Yates, the son of Jesse and Gulielma LEWIS TUTTLE. He was a former superintendent of highways in the town of Yates for 14 years.
Surviving are five sons, Lewis, Hubert and Paul of Lyndonville, Leon of Rochester and Carl of Stanford, Conn.; five daughters, Mrs. Everett STRICKLAND of Waterport, Mrs. Frank MAHAR and Mrs. Leo ALLEN of Lyndonville and Mrs. Erford BEDIENT and Mrs. Morris O’BRIEN of Medina; also 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the family home in E. Yates Center rd. Sunday at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Floyd Childs of the Yates Baptist church officiating. Burial in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Lyndonville - Wilson TUTTLE, who was so badly injured three weeks ago, died suddenly last Friday evening, of heart failure. Deceased was born at the town of Camillus, Onondaga Co., N.Y. February 18, 1820. He came with his father's family to Wilson, Niagara Co., in 1834, and to this town, in 1840. Was married January 24, 1850, to Cornelia, eldest daughter of Stephen B. JOHNSON. He leaves a brother, Ira TUTTLE, of Iowa and two sisters, Mrs. VOSLER, and Mrs. Spaulding, and two sons and two adopted daughters. These, and a large circle of relatives and friends, will deeply mourn his sudden death. The Presbyterian Church has lost one of her most substantial supporters and faithful members. Mr. TUTTLE will be remembered by many as an accomodating neighbor and helping friend. An incident of his early life - the first boat launched on the Erie Canal had on board sixteen babies, of which Mr. T. was one. Mr. TUTTLE was a man of indomitable energy in private and public business. The funeral was largely attended on Monday, at the residence, conducted by the pastor, Rev. E.W. Twichell. Mrs. TUTTLE, who was also injured, is gaining. The death of her husband, to whom she was entirely devoted, will be a fearful blow to her.
(NOTE: Mrs. Vosler was Mrs. Jacob (nee Mary TUTTLE) VOSLER. Mrs. SPAULDING was nee Sarah TUTTLE who married first Charles BROWN, then ____ SPAULDING. Two sons were Horace and Walter. Adopted daughters were Sarah nee BULLEN (daughter of Wilson's deceased sister and husband, Jane and Jehiel BULLEN) who took the name TUTTLE and Sarah's sister Anna (nee BULLEN) TUTTLE (married Charles DAY). Ira was of Mt. Ayr, Ringgold, IA. Wilson and Cornelia also had two daughters who died young.)
A sad accident occurred Sunday afternoon to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson TUTTLE. They had been to call on Aunt Sally DANIELS, who is sick at Mr. Edmonds, and returning about seven o'clock, the horse became frightened at the railroad crossing and wheeled about, upsetting the carriage. Both were badly injured. Mr. TUTTLE's face was cut and he sustained a compound dislocation of the ankle. Dr. Fraser attended to the injured ones and hopes are entertained that Mr. TUTTLE's limb can be saved. Mrs. TUTTLE is considerably bruised, but not critically hurt. A similar accident happened last fall by the same horse and nearly at the same place, with Mrs. TUTTLE and her sister, Selina JOHNSON, in the buggy, and they had been to visit the same aged lady, who was then sick as now, and Mrs. TUTTLE was then laid up for several weeks.)

DROWNED IN CANAL
Vincent TYLEC, the 4 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent TYLEC, of Commercial street, was drowned
in the canal in the rear of Acer and Whedon Co.'s factory directly across the street from his home,
Tuesday afternoon at 4:30. He was playing along the bank and was warned by employees of the factory
to keep away from the edge. But he paid no attention to the warning. The body was recovered about an
hour later by Police Chief Brainard about ten feet from where the boy fell in. He is survived by his
parents, two brothers and a sister. The funeral will be held on Friday morning from Sacred Heart
Church. Interment will be in
Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Albion - Funeral services were held in the Grinnell Funeral Home here this afternoon for Mrs. Adelia TYLER, widow of the late Frank TYLER, whose death occurred in the Bishop Convalescent Home in Medina Saturday. Burial was in Mt. Albion Cemetery. The deceased was a native of Wisconsin.

Mrs. Harriet TYLER, aged 80 years, died on Monday morning. The deceased was born in Middleport and has been a resident of Medina for 50 years. She is survived by one son, Alvin TYLER. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the M. E. Church, the Rev. Mr. Heisler officiating.

John B. Tyrell (TYRELL), a pioneer resident of Orleans county, died at Albion Tuesday, aged 75 years. He had resided in Albion for over 70 years.
