In the name of God, Amen.

I, Abram Onderdonk, of the town of Gaines in the County of Orleans and State of New York, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, that is to say:

First. After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, I give and bequeath to my wife Eliza Jane Onderdonk the use of five thousand dollars during her natural life to be secured by mortgage in that part of the farm where I now reside, it being the one hundred acres lying on the east side of the road formerly running from the long ridge, so called, northwardly to the ridge road, the interest on the said five thousand dollars to be paid to her annually. I also give and bequeath to her the use and occupancy of that part of the dwelling house where we now reside which we now occupy together with all the household furniture, books, pictures, etc.

Second. I give and bequeath to Henry Barry Onderdonk, my son, five hundred dollars to be paid to him on his arrival at the age of twenty one years.

Third. I give and bequeath the balance of my real and personal estate after paying all my lawful debts to my four sons, to wit: Andrew S. Onderdonk, David W. Onderdonk, William H. Onderdonk and Henry B. Onderdonk to be divided equally between thenm after deducting the amount of notes and receipts in my lands against each, that is to say, the amount of notes and receipts against each of my sons is to apply in payment of their several legacies.

The amount of five thousand dollars bequeathed to my wife Eliza Jane Onderdonk is to be received by her in lieu of dower.

Likewise, I make, constitute and appoint my wife Eliza Jane Onderdonk to be executrix of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereonto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the twenty-eighth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy one.

The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Abram Onderdonk in our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us, and he at the same time declared the above instrument, so subscribed, to be his last will and testament, and we, at his request, have signed our names as witnesses hereto, in his presence and in the presence of each other, and written opposite our names our respective places of residence.
