Alex McCLEVERTY died on Thursday last, at his home in Buffalo, after a long illness with consumption, aged twenty-nine years. Deceased was a former resident of this place, removing to Buffalo about eight years ago. The remains were brought here on Saturday and interred in Boxwood Cemetery.

McALLISTER Automobile Struck by Trolley at Fancher Brockville Crossing
When an automobile in which they were riding was struck by a high speed B. L. & R.
Interurban car at the Fancher-Brockville state highway crossing, shortly after 7 o’clock
Sunday night, six persons were instantly killed. Those that met death were: John
McALLISTER, 48 years old; his wife, Mrs. Jennie SULLIVAN McALLISTER, 44 years old; three
children, Vincent 15, Mary 13 and Joseph 8; Mrs. Letita IRWIN, 44 years old, a nurse and
sister of Mr. McALLISTER. A dog in the automobile was also killed.
The victims were returning from a motor trip to the McAllister farm on the Ridge road in Murray township. The car, going at a high rate of speed, crashed into the automobile, it is said, when the latter attempted to make the crossing in front of it. Francis and Joseph McALLISTER, the two surviving sons of the family, learned of the accident upon their return to Albion from Buffalo the same night. Coroner Leon G. Alden, of Holley, is investigating the fatality.

Edward McARDLE of Niagara Falls, formerly of this place, died at his home yesterday from injuries received while at work on a new school building in that city. Mr. McARDLE was a resident of Medina until about two years ago, when he moved to Niagara Falls. He was 37 years old and leaves a wife, who was formerly Bessie DeFOREST of Lyndonville, and six sons. The funeral will be held from his late home No. 300 Sugar Street, (Niagara Falls) at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon.

A terrible accident occurred at the stone quarry of Mr. Nelson McCormick, last Thursday, but we got the news too late for last week's issue. A number of workmen were engaged in clearing away the dirt from the rock, and had undermined a portion of the bank, which was about eight feet high at this place. Some one observed that the bank had begun to give way, and gave warning to those below, who made an effort to escape. Two men were caught by the earth and held by their legs, but were soon released, one of them having his ankle sprained, while the other man was slightly bruised. After this the men commenced work again, and worked a short time before they discovered that one of their number, James McATEE was missing. The immediate and natural conclusion was that he was buried under the earth that had fallen, and they immediately set to work to release him: and in a short time, found that their conjectures were right, and that the man was a corpse. He must have been instantly killed, as his skull was badly crushed, his ribs broken, and his thigh dislocated.

ONE QUARRYMAN KILLED AND ANOTHER TERRIBLY INJURED BY A PREMATURE EXPLOSION.
John McAVOY, a foreman employed in James O'Dell's quarry, near Shelby Basin, met with a
terrible death by a blasting accident Saturday afternoon. McAVOY and a Polander named
Edward Capella, were loading a blast, and had nearly finished the preliminaries when a
premature explosion of terrific force occurred, throwing the huge stones into the air and
tossing McAVOY a distance of fifteen feet from the scene of the blast. He was picked up
unconscious and carried to the tool shed near by. He immediately recovered consciousness,
and Dr. Wilmot, of Middleport, was hastily summoned.
The physician found that McAVOY had sustained a fracture of the right leg below the knee. Both the upper and lower jaw were fractured, and the skull was badly fractured. Both eyes were blown out. The worst wound was directly over his heart, where a sharp pointed stone had been driven halfway through the body. The face was badly disfigured also by the burning powder. The unfortunate man lived for two hours in fearful agony, and expired just after the arrival of his father at the scene of the accident.
Coroner Munson was summoned, but did not deem an inquest necessary. The body was removed to McAVOY's home, one mile east of here. The funeral took place at nine o'clock Monday morning from St. Mary's church, Rev. J. Costaldi, officiating. McAVOY was single, and about thirty five years of age. He leaves a father, mother and several brothers and sisters. Capella, the other laborer, was terribly injured and may die. His arms and legs are broken and he was badly injured internally. His eyesight is probably gone.

A Sorely Afflicted Family.
The family of Patrick McAVOY, who reside about a mile southeast of this village, have been
deeply afflicted during the past two years. A son (John) was killed while blasting in a
quarry near Shelby Basin, and a few months later the mother and son were quite seriously
injured by being thrown from a buggy near the depot. About two weeks ago Mr. McAVOY, the
father, was attacked with la grippe, which terminated fatally on Tuesday afternoon. The
whole family, with one exception, have been afflicted with the same disease and a daughter
Miss Katharine/Catherine, aged twenty-eight, died on Tuesday evening, surviving her father
only six hours.
The mother and two son(s) are very low at present, and fears are entertained as to the recovery of the former. The funeral of the father and daughter was held at St. Mary's Church this morning and was largely attended. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in their deep affliction.

George D. McCABE, 32, of Fancher, was instantly killed about midnight Monday when the light truck he was driving went out of control at the Peter Smith road intersection with the Ridge. Thrown from the car, he suffered a broken neck, according to the investigation by Coroner Leon G. Ogden of Holley and Dr. D. G. Cooper of Albion, coroner's physician.
Employed by the Albion branch of the Niagara, Lockport & Ontario Power Company, McCABE had been in the hamlet of Sawyer demonstrating radios. It is said he had installed one and had another in the company truck as he returned to his home. It is thought that he came to the Ridge road before he was aware of the fact and that his efforts to slow or turn the car caused it to slew along the pavement, throwing him out after he was injured by striking his head against the top. The car wound up against a pole by the roadside. Neighbors who heard the noise found him dead on soft ground near the road.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Peter (Bridget) McCABE; a brother, Thomas and a sister, Miss Marjorie McCABE, all of Fancher. He also had many friends in Medina who mourn his sudden passing. Funeral services were held this Thursday morning at nine o’clock from St. Mary's Church, Holley. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Albion - Mrs. Mary I. McCABE, 63, died Sunday at the family residence, 338 West Park street, after a long illness. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and Rosary Society.
Born in Albion she had been a resident here all her life. She is survived by her husband, James T. McCABE, a former Albion merchant: two daughters, Mrs. John RANDOLPH, Horseheads and Miss Elizabeth Ann McCABE, Albion; one son, Corp. Donald J. McCabe, USA, in foreign service: one grandson, John RANDOLPH Jr., Horseheads; one sister, Mrs. J.B. SLACK, Medina; one brother, Eugene MAHONEY, village clerk, Albion, and one nephew, Thomas A. MAHONEY, Albion.
Funeral services will be held in the late residence, Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

LYNDONVILLE - Pvt. Oliver D. McCANTY, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCANTY, who was reported missing in action on Feb. 2, was confirmed as a victim of enemy action at sea in a War Department telegram to his parents today. The telegram expressed “deep regret that it has now been officially determined that your son, who was previously reported missing in action Feb. 2, lost his life as a result of enemy action in the North Atlantic on Feb. 3.
A native of Smith Falls, Ont., Private McCanty came to the United States with his family when he was four years old. He entered service May 15, 1942, and was stationed at Ft. Niagara, Ft. Eustis, Va., Ft. Slocum, N.Y., and at Camp Standish, Mass. He last visited his home on New Year’s Day.

Funeral services for Bert McCARGAR, 59, whose death occurred Saturday at Mt. Morris, will be held from the home of his sister, Mrs. William VOLK, Blair Road, Tuesday at 2 p.m. Mr. McCARGAR’s death followed a lingering illness. The remains were brought to the Thibault Funeral Home Saturday. The deceased had been a resident of Shelby for many years.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Clark McHUGH of Buffalo and Mrs. William Volk of Shelby and one brother, Frank McCARGAR of Alabama. Rev. J. C. Rawson of the Shelby Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Irving, the nine-year old son of James F. McCARGO, of this place, was drowned while bathing in the canal, near Bancroft’s grove Friday afternoon. The particulars of this sad affair, as near as can be learned, are as follows: The unfortunate boy, in company with some other boys of about his own age, went over to the canal to take a bath immediately after school had closed. None of the party could swim, and each dared the other to see how far they dare go out into the water, Irving taking the lead. The water was not as shallow as it was supposed to be, and losing his balance, he went over his head. His companions were terror stricken when they saw their schoolmate drowning, but were powerless to save him. An alarm was given, but before help arrived he has sunk to the bottom. A search for the body was immediately instituted, but it was not recovered until eight o’clock the same evening. Coroner Munson deemed an inquest unneccessary, and the remains were taken to the home of his parents on West Center street.
The funeral services were held Sunday at the residence and the remains were interred in Boxwood Cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their deep affliction.

Mrs. Catherine McCLELLAN, 80, died this morning after a long illness at the Frances Poler Nursing Home, Park Avenue. She had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Clifford HARE of 215 W. Oak Orchard Street. Mrs. McCLELLAN was born in Medina, December 6, 1878, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine McNALLY PEEL, and had lived here her entire lifetime. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and she was a charter member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the L.O.O.M.
Survivors include six sons, Raymond MORIARTY, Daniel MORIARTY, Kenneth MORIARTY, Bertrand McCLELLAN, James McCLELLAN, all of Medina, and Laverne McCLELLAN of Lockport. Also, four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy WALKER, Mrs. Alice PADOLESKI and Mrs. Ruth HARE of Medina, and Mrs. Eileen WILSON of Lyndonville; twenty-one grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, Pearl Street, where a prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday followed by a funeral mass at 9:30 at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

James B. McCLELLAN, 57, of 227½ Eagle St., died early this morning at Medina Memorial Hospital following a heart attack. He was born in Medina April 19, 1902 and had lived here his entire lifetime. He had been employed at Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors in Lockport. Mr. McClellan was a member of St. Mary’s Church, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Eagles, and the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II.

The death of John McCORMICK, who was probably the oldest resident of Orleans county, occurred at the residence of his son, James, in this place on Monday morning, in the ninety-ninth year of his age. Deceased was born at New Brunswick, N. J., December 17, 1790. At the age of fourteen years he removed with his parents to Montgomery county, N. Y. About the year 1824 he settled in the town of Riga, Monroe county; afterwards removed to Royalton, N. Y., and in 1834 located in the town of Ridgeway, on the farm now owned by Wellington Weld. He afterwards removed to the Bates road, and then to this village, where he has resided for twenty-two years.
Five sons and two daughters survive him, viz: Daniel, James, Nelson, and Chauncey, of this place, and John, Jr., of Buffalo; Mrs. Benj. JACKSON, of this place, and Mrs. Charles FOX, of Marshall, Mich. His wife died about nine years ago in her eighty-third year. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon, Rev. Mr. Latham officiating.

Mrs. C. (Chauncey) A. McCORMICK passed away last evening after an illness of about a week's duration. She was born in Medina, N. Y., in 1841, the daughter of Aseph and Lodenma GRISWOLD. In 1890, she came to Pasadena with her family, making a permanent home here (Pasadena, Calif.) three years later. She has been a member of the Pasadena Presbyterian Church for over thirty years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert C. KENNAN; two grandsons, Robert McCormick KEMMAN and Lawrence Scott KENNAN, and a sister, Miss Jessie GRISWOLD of Rochester, N. Y. Mrs. Stephen McDERMOTT died on Thursday last, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry WILCOX, on Orient street. Deceased was an old resident of Medina and was sixty-five years of age. The funeral occurred at St. Mary’s Church, Saturday.

A terrible accident happened to B. Frank McDONALD, a prominent young man of Holley, at 4:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. While engaged in putting up a telephone line for the Holley Water Works Company he fell from the cross-bar of a telephone pole to the ground, a distance of about twenty feet, and was instantly killed. His neck was broken and his arm was fractured in two places.
He was about 37 years of age, and leaves a wife (Etta M. COGSWELL) and four small children. The bereaved wife is a sister of Mrs. Watson F. BARRY, of this place.

F. Frederick McDONALD, 27, of Middleport died suddenly yesterday afternoon of a heart attack. Mr. McDONALD had just returned from a horseback ride and had put the horse in the barn, and a few minutes afterwards was stricken. Efforts of the Middleport Fire Department to revive him with an inhaler proved fruitless. Born in Middleport he was associated with his father and brother in the E & M Enterprises at Middleport. He was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Middleport Rotary Club.
Surviving are his wife, Clarice FOLGER McDONALD; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred McDONALD; and two brothers, Stanley D. and Arthur D. McDONALD, all of Middleport. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. from the home of his parents, 69 Main Street, Middleport, with Rev. Leonard P. Ives, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby.

(Lyndonville) The many friends of Harvey McDONALD were shocked to hear of his death Tuesday, January 25, 1927, at the home of his son, Joseph McDONALD, in Detroit, Mich. Although Mr. McDonald had not been in good health for over two years, the end came suddenly. Harvey McDonald was born in Oswego on March 10, 1859. He married Miss Mary MAHAR on December 2, 1879. Coming to this village when a young man, he spent nearly all of his lifetime here, going to Detroit to live about two years ago.
The surviving relatives are seven children: Mrs. Mary HARROD of County Line; Harvey McDONALD of New York city; John, Leo and Joseph McDONALD of Detroit; Mrs. Catherine McDONALD of Buffalo; and Raymond McDONALD; also a half-brother, William DUNN, of Oakfield.
The funeral was held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary HARROD, Friday morning at 9:30, and at St. Joseph's Catholic church of this village at 10:15, Father Leo J. Reddy, officiating. Burial was in Bocwood Cemetery, Medina.

Henry McELWEE, 78, until his retirement on April 1 of this year Medina's oldest retail merchant in point of service, died at three o'clock this morning in Medina Memorial Hospital where he has been a patient for the past 10 days.
Born in Lyndonvllle September 1, 1872 his parents were the late Elizabeth MORTON and Henry McELWEE of that village. Mr. McELWEE came to Medina as a young man and entered the grocery business with the late William COOPER. Later establishing his own store, he was in the retail grocery business for 63 years, over 43 years as owner and proprietor of his own store at 511 Main Street.
Active in community and church affairs for many years, Mr. McELWEE was a member and past grand knight of Medina Council, Knights of Columbus, a member of Medina Lodge of Elks and the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's Church.
He was associated with community efforts and Red Cross and war bond drives during both World Wars and for many years a member of the Medina Advertising Club and Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ellen (Nellie COMERFORD) McELWEE; one daughter, Mrs. Germain HOLTZ; three grandchildren; a brother, William McELWEE, all of Medina, and several nieces and nephews.
The body is resting at his late home, 425 Park Avenue. Funeral services will be held in St. Mary's Church on Friday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Paul DURKIN will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Delores (CHRISTMYER); one son, Philip; two brothers, David of Medina and Dawson in Japan; two sisters, Rita of Medina and Mrs. Florence KILROY of Lockport. He was a member of Medina Council, Knights of Columbus; the Holy Name Society, and the American Legion.

James McGINN, a polisher from Syracuse, walked up the track as far as the oil tank and sat
down for some time. It is not known just how it happened but he was found a little later
laying with his head just across the rail; a car that was being switched around passed
over his neck. There did not appear to be any other marks on him. He was taken to
O'Rielly's undertaking rooms.

In the passing of John McGINN, one of Medina's oldest landmarks, from the standpoint of a business man, has been removed. For the past 35 years Mr. McGINN had conducted a tonsorial parlor at 525 Main street. Prior to that he operated one in the Hart House, where is now located the produce office of Charles B. Dye. Aside from George M. Frary, the deceased was probably next in line for continuous business career in Medina. Always of a happy and friendly disposition, he made a host of friends that sincerely mourn his passing.
The matter of this physical ailment were closely guarded and but very few indeed were aware that he was gradually slipping. Close observers noticed a change in the past few months, although he stuck to duty uncomplainingly until the last bit of his vitality had spent itself and he was obliged to give up his work just two weeks before his death, which occurred at his home on Church street, Saturday evening, March 3.
Deceased is survived by his widow; one daughter, Mrs. William MERRY of West Avenue, a son, Raymond McGINN and granddaughter, Miss Madlyn McGINN of Highland avenue; a sister, Mrs. Julia LEARY of Hoboken, N. J., and three brothers, Edward, Andrew and William, all of Medina. The funeral was held from St. Mary's Church at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, Rev. James Hogan officiating, assisted by Rev. Francis Garvey and Rev. Joseph Kennedy. The Barber's Association of Medina attended the funeral services in a body. The interment took place in the family plot in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The bearers included John Waldner, E. Roland Clark, David A. White, Alfred J. Morgan, Thomas Mooney and Francis O'Donnell.

Mr. William McGRATH, a well known citizen of this place died at his home on Church street this morning about nine o’clock, from heart failure. The deceased has been in ill health for more than a year past, and has been confined to his home for the past six months.
Mr. McGRATH was born in Medina, and lived here all his life. He was for many years a barber, and afterwards was employed in the State Surveyer's office here, and later worked for the New York Central. He was a staunch Democrat, an active worker for the party and a leader in the community in which he lived. The deceased was a good natured man, always saw the best in everything and had a host of friends who will mourn his demise. Even when his health broke down and he was compelled to give up active work, still the same kindly disposition and warm heart was there and his fortitude during the past few months has been the admiration of those who knew his suffering. Mr. McGrath was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and that organization will attend his funeral at St. Mary’s church Monday morning at nine o'clock.
He is survived by his widow, two children, Mrs Howard CALLAGHAN and Miss Amanda McGRATH, of this place, his mother, Mrs. Roger McGRATH, of Eagle street, three brothers, Fred, of Boston, Philip, of Washington, John, of London, Canada, and a sister, Mrs. Frank DOWD of this place.

The death of James McGUINN, 80, well-known musician of Medina, and a Spanish War veteran, occurred suddenly yesterday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. Rose BARBER, 707 West avenue, with whom he made his home.
Mr. McGUINN joined the 29th Separate Co. in 1895, which upon being called to active service became Co. F. Third Infantry, and volunteered with the company on May 1, 1898, to serve in the Spanish American War, which ended on Dec. 5, 1898. He was a member of the Spanish War Veterans Camp 109 in Medina, and took an active part in all veteran affairs. A talented violinist, he also played the coronet in the old 29th Separate Co. Band. Mr. McGUINN was a possessor of ready wit and a repartee that made him an engaging conversationalist.
Born December 10, 1862, in the Town of Barre, the son of the late John and Rose BURNS McGUINN, he has lived in Medina for the past fifty years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. E. R. MULLER of Batavia, and Mrs. BARBER of Medina; one brother, John McGUINN of New Mexico; two nieces and one nephew, Misses Zita and Hildred MULLER of Batavia, and Eugene R. MULLER of Mancelena, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 8:30 o’clock from the late residence, 707 West avenue, and at 9:00 o'clock in St. Mary’s Church. Spanish War Veterans will attend the funeral in a body. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Matthew McGUINN, a well known Medina man, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McGUINN, of East Center street, last night after a ten months' illness of Bright’s disease, aged fifty years. Mr. McGUINN had never married and had been engaged in farming until his health failed.
The surviving family consists of the father and mother, three sisters, Mrs. E. R. MULLER, of Batavia, Katherine, of Denver, Colorado, and Rose, of this place, and two brothers, John and James of this place. The funeral will take place from St. Mary's Church on Wednesday morning at 9:15 o'clock with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The funeral was held from St. Joseph's church Monday morning, Rev. Francis Sullivan

MISS FRANCES McGUIRE DIES OF BURNS SUFFERED ON MONDAY
Funeral Will Be Held Friday Morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church
Miss Frances McGUIRE, 29, of Rochester, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William McGUIRE
was ironing when a portable electric heater on the floor ignited the silk housecoat she
was wearing. Unable to unfasten the zipper or to beat out the flames, she screamed for
help. Her cries were answered by her landlady who was successful in smothering the flames
with a blanket but only after Miss McGUIRE had received first, second, and third degree
burns. She was a graduate of Albion High School and for several years had been a resident
of Rochester where she had been employed at the Hawkeye Camera Works.
Surviving relatives include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William McGuire of Albion; two
sisters, Mrs. Vincent BLAKE of Niagara Falls; Mrs. Everett ENNIS of Albion; two brothers,
Joseph and Daniel McGUIRE, both of Niagara Falls. Friends may call at Merrill's Funeral
Home where services will be held at 8:45 Friday morning and at 9 o'clock from St. Joseph's
Church with the Rev. Robert H. Howard officiating.

On Friday afternoon last a---girl 5 1/2 years of age---child of Patrick McGUIRE who resides on Madison Street in this village, was so badly burned by her clothes taking fire that she died the next morning about 9 o'clock. The mother was away from home and left the children in care of an older sister who went out soon after the mother, and left the smaller children in an upper room. They seem to have been amusing themselves with a lighted lamp which had a broken chimney. The child's clothing caught fire in some manner from the lamp, just how does not clearly appear from the account the children were able to render. When the child's clothes were fired a sister older---some eight years of age---seized her, carried her down stairs and put her in a pail of water, but not till the poor child was fatally burned. The children, we hear, were not able to give a very full and clear account of just how the fatal accident happened.

Death of Mary J. McGUIRE by Drowning.
Shortly after noon, on Saturday last, Mary J. McGUIRE, of Hulberton, formerly of this
place, was riding her bicycle along the tow path when, in some manner unknown, she lost
control of it and was precipitated into the canal. Vain efforts were made by divers to
rescue her but to no avail, she finally being brought out by means of drag hooks.
Although she had been in the water about fifteen minutes all possible aid was brought to bear to resuscitate her, Dr. Waldo being present and working over her constantly for an hour. The most vigorous efforts proved fruitless and the young lady died in the presence of a large crowd who were powerless to help her. Coroner J. H. Taylor, of Holley, was summoned and examined the body. In removing the water from her lungs he discovered a twenty-five cent piece lodged in her throat which evidently, was the immediate cause of her death. He did not consider an inquest necessary and granted a certificate of death by accident.
' Miss McGuire was born in this village about seventeen years ago and resided here until within five years, moving to Hulberton where she lived at the time of her death. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s church, Holley, and a most devout and energetic worker for that creed. By her genial and unobtrusive manner, her kind word and smile to all, her good nature and kind, loving heart, she became a favorite with all who knew her. To meet her was to admire her because of her open-heartedness, frankness and sincerity. All who were at all acquainted with her speak, with one accord, of her loving disposition and bright beautiful face. She had no enemies but made friends as fast as she met people, having that peculiarity that attracted all. Among those who knew her well, she was esteemed and beloved for her constant loving deeds and ministrations. No wonder, then, that she was so universally popular that by common consent she was held in high esteem by old and young alike.
The funeral was held from St. Mary’s church, Holley, Monday morning, and the body brought to this place for interment. Although a driving rain was falling, the depot was crowded with her friends and relatives when the train, bearing her body, arrived at noon. A long procession attended the corpse to the Catholic cemetery where she was laid at rest.

Word has been received of the death of Rev. Franklin G. McKeever on December 1st, at
Providence, R.I. He was pastor of the Medina Baptist Church in 1885-1888, and was held in
high esteem by the church. He had held positions of honor and responsibility in the
denomination, and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife who has the sincere
sympathy of her many friends in this community.

Lyndonville - Funeral services for Thgomas McKIE, 73, who died Friday evening, March 13th, at his home on the Yates Center Road after a long illness, were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from hsi late home. Burial was in Lynhaven Cemetery.
Mr. McKIE was born in Scotland, November 12, 1868, and came to this country as a small boy, with his mother and two sisters. He was an engineer at the Lyndonville Cold Storage for many years, and was a member of the Yates Baptist Church. On November 11, 1941, Mr. and Mrs. McKIE celebrated their golden anniversary.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Angie LEWIS McKIE; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest PARSELLS and Mrs. Floyd NICHOLS of Lundonville and one grandson, Homer PRINGLE

Funeral services for the late Helen A. McKNIGHT, wife of Edwin McKNIGHT who died suddenly at her farm home a half mile south of Medina on Sunday, were held from her late home this afternoon at 2 o’clock. The services were conducted by Rev. J. J. Allen of the First Baptist Church and the burial was at Mountain Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. McKnight leaves to mourn their loss her husband, Edwin McKNIGHT, one daughter, Edna, and a son, Sidney McKNIGHT of Albion; also one brother, Frank BIGFORD of Shelby. Mrs. McKnight has a host of friends in Medina who mourn her departure.
The bearers at the funeral were Messrs. C. N. HOOD, John SHELDON, Jr., F. M. POLER, John CHASE, James SLACK and Jason SAWYER of Albion.

John McLEAN, 98, died in Cleveland, Ohio, Wednesday, February 5, 1936, at the United States Marine hospital.
Mr. McLEAN was born in Ayreshire, Scotland, December 6, 1837, and came to America with his parents when he was 18 years of age. The trip took thirty days and was made in a sailing vessel. His parents settled in Lapeer county, Michigan, where they engaged in farming. In 1862, Mr. McLEAN enlisted in the 17th Battery of Light Artillery, and served for three years in the Civil war, being honorably discharged on June 13, 1865. In 1886, he married Miss Mary THAYER, and settled in the town of Yates, where he engaged in farming. After the death of his wife in 1924, he moved to Bristol, Wisconsin, to live with his daughter, Mrs. Agnes BOLTON, but returned to Lyndonville in 1933.
McLean is survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was a Democrat and voted at every presidential election, except one, since 1860. He was the oldest member of Yates Lodge, 675, F. & A. M.
The remains were brought to Lyndonville yesterday afternoon and the funeral will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 in the Masonic temple. Rev. H. A. Depfer, officiating. The Masonic funeral service will be given. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery. A military funeral will be held at the grave by troops from Fort Niagara, under command of Master Sergeant Burke.
LYNDONVILLE, Feb. 13. - With troops present from Ft. Niagara and fellow members of Yates l odge 675, F. & A. M., in attendance, the body of John McLEAN, 97, the oldest member of the Masonic fraternity in this village and one of the last two surviving Civil war veterans in Orleans county, was laid to rest today.
Burial followed a combined military-Masonic funeral, conducted in Lyndonville Masonic temple. The rites were under the direction of Postmaster George Weber. Mr. McLEAN, who died Tuesday in Cleveland, was born in Ayreshire, Scotland, Dec. 6, 1838 (7), and came to Lyndonville in 1857. He enlisted in 1862 in the 17th New York Battery, Light Artillery, and was honorably discharged June 13, 1865. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Agnes BOLTON of Bristol, Wis.

Mrs. Mary Jane McLEAN, aged 79 years, died Thursday morning, Feb. 21, 1924, after an illness of several years. Mrs. McLEAN was born in Oneida county. Her parents moved to the town of Yates when she was a little child and she has resided here ever since except for a few years after her marriage. The funeral service was held from her late home on Eagle street Saturday afternoon, Rev. J. G. Wirth officiating.
The remains were placed in a vault in the undertaking rooms of C. J. Smith until weather conditions permit burial. A husband, one daughter, Mrs. George BOLTON of Pleasant Prairie; one son, John McLEAN Jr., whose whereabouts is unknown, and thirteen grandchildren, survive.

Charles McMAHON, son of P. McMAHON, Central freight agent at this station, died at his home in Rochester, on Saturday last, aged 24 years. The funeral was held at Rochester on Tuesday last. He was an exceptionally bright young man, and had a very large circle of acquaintances in this and other places. At the time of his death he held the important position of head clerk in one of the departments in J. Fahy & Co’s store in Rochester.

After a long illness of cancer of the stomach, Frank McMILLAN died yesterday at his home on West avenue, aged 47 years. Mr. McMILLAN was born in Medina and had passed his entire life here. He followed the trade of carpenter and was considered an expert in his calling. He had never married, residing with his parents and, employing much of his leisure time in reading, was a man of wide information.
He leaves beside his mother, Mrs. Margaret McMILLAN, one sister, Mrs. John HUNT, of Middleport and one brother, Hugh McMILLAN, of Chicago. He was a member of the local lodge I. 0. 0. F. and a member ot the congregration of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
The funeral will take place from the house tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon at two o’clock, the Rev. C. B. Sparks conducting the services, and the burial will be in the family plot at Boxwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Frank McNalley (McNALLY), of this place, died in Buffalo on Saturday last of tuberculosis, aged thirty-four years. Her husband, four children, two brothers and two sisters survive.

Eugene McNAMARA Died Here Monday
The death of Eugene McNAMARA, 81, occurred yesterday in the home of his niece, Mrs. Charles RICH, 217 North Ave. Mr. McNAMARA had been in ill health for several years. Born on Culvert Road he had been a resident of Medina the greater part of his lifetime. He was employed by H. J. Heinz Co. for many years. He was a member of Medina Lodge of Elks and the Holy Name Society of St. Marys Church.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at the O'Reilly Funeral Home services will be held on Thursday, June 21 at 9 a.m. in St. Marys Church with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

James McNAMARA, 77, for many years a teamster in the Medina fire department, died Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Daniel FULLER, of East ave, after a short illness. Besides his daughter he is survived two grandchildren, Mrs. Herman HANDT and Daniel FULLER Jr., two brothers Eugene and Thomas McNAMARA, all of Medina and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services at St. Marys Church under the direction of Rev. James Hogan. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The death of Thomas McNAMARA 62, a lifelong resident of Medina, occurred suddenly last evening at 11:00 o'clock in the home of his niece, Mrs. Charles RICH, North Ave., following a week's illness. Born June 19, 1880, in Medina, Mr. McNAMARA had lived his entire lifetime here. He was a member of St. Marys Church, of the Holy Name Society of the parish, and a member of Medina Council Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by one brother, Eugene McNAMARA of Medina, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from his late residence, 217 North Ave. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

of the hotel at Byron. Mr. McNEAL was driving into the hotel sheds when his horse became

remains were brought to the undertaking rooms of J. B. Merrill in this village and the

DEATH SEPARATES COUPLE AFTER 57 YEARS WEDDED LIFE
Albion - Death Saturday separated an Albion couple after 57 years of married life together when Elizabeth Ann McOMBER passed away in the Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. She and Frank McOMBER celebrated their 57th anniversary on the day after Christmas, having been married at the Gaines Congregational Church on Dec 26, 1888. They lived in their Telegraph Road home for over 40 years; Mrs. McOMBER passed her 77th birthday on Jan 26 while her husband was 83 on Feb 1. She was Miss Elizabeth MALCOM before her marriage.
Survivors besides her husband include a daughter, Mrs. Roy D. HILL of Albion; a son Clarence F. McOMBER of Spencerport, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister Mrs. William BATES of Gaines; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Albion and of the West Albion Home Bureau.
Friends may call at the Grinnell Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. South Main Street, Albion, where services wull be held at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow with the Rev. James H. Buikka of the Albion Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Albion - Frank E. McOMBER, 87, who farmed on the Loveland farm just west of Albion for almost half a century before his retirement, died Saturday, Jan. 6, just three weeks before his 88th birthday. His wife died four years ago after they had celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. He was a member of the Albion Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Roy D. HILL of Albion; a son, Clarence F. McOMBER of Syracuse: seven sisters, Mrs. Ciara LASKEY of Clarendon, Mrs. Libbie CANN, of Kuckville, Mrs. Grace THOMAS of Carlton, Mrs. Nellie THOMAS of Albion, Mrs. Florence THOMAS of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Della BRIGGS and Mrs. Edith CURTIS of Rochester; a brother, Carl McOMBER of Waterport and five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Grinnell Funeral Home at 230 South Main Street, Albion, where the Rev. C. Lacy Van Norman of the Albion Methodist Church will officiate at services at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas McPARTLAND of Wheatville, aged forty years, died at her home on Saturday at 11:30PM. Death resulted from a complication of diseases.
Besides her husband, Mrs. McPARTLAND is survived by five children -- Irving, aged 14 years; Florence, aged 12; Arthur, aged 7; Bernard, aged 2 and an infant daughter, Mary Eveline, aged 4 weeks. Other relatives are three brothers, John O'KEEFE of Buffalo, Francis O'KEEFE of Medina, and James, whose residence is unknown. Mrs. Cornelius O'KEEFE, the mother, is also living, her home being in Medina. Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick's church in Wheatville tomorrow at 9am. The remains will be brought to Batavia for internment in St. Joseph's Cemetery (Batavia, NY).

[Additional note: The two youngest children, Bernard and Eleanor M. (aka Mary Eveline), were taken in and cared for by Kate CROWLEY (nee Catherina O'KEEFE, sister of Mary), a Medina resident, to assist their grieving father. Unfortunately, both children had died by the end of 1909.]

The funeral of Andrew Downey McPHEE was held Saturday afternoon in St. John's Church, which was filled with his sorrowing friends and relatives. Rev. D. A. Pearson officiated, while Charles A. Mack read the Masonic service. During the service two hymns were sung by Mrs. A. B. Shattuck and Louie Neal. Medina Lodge F. and A. M. attended in a body. The bearers were J. P. Gallagher, George A Bowen, Harry Bickle, LeRoy Whitwell, Donald Acer and Irving Rowley. Burial was in Boxwood Cemetery.

Last evening occurred the death of Michael McTIGUE at his home on Pearl street. The deceased had been ailing for some time with hardening of the arteries, but had been about the streets until recently. Mr. McTIGUE was well known about the village, and for years was a quarryman, hut recently had been in the state employ on the canal. He was also a prominent member of the local C. M. B. A.
The deceased, who was sixty years of age, is survived by his wife (Bridget CASEY), four daughters, Anna, Mary, Bertha and Catherine, two sons, Edward and Hugh, all of Medina, and two sisters, Miss Elizabeth McTIGUE and Mrs. Michael ROORK, of Niagara Falls, and one brother, James McTIGUE, of Jamestown.

Mary WILSON McWILLIAMS was born in Donegal County, Ireland, August 8, 1820. She died at her late residence in Peterboro, Madison County, New York, at 10:30 a. m., February 13, 1901. She came from a thrifty Scotch family. She was the daughter of Robert and Martha WILSON. Her parents immigrated to America when she was about twelve years old. They bought a farm in Orleans County, New York. Here Miss Wilson's youth was spent.
In 1838 she was married to Hugh McWILLIAMS. He was also a Scotchman. Soon after their marriage they settled in Peterboro. They were privileged to enjoy but little less than half a century of married life. Six children came to this home bringing joy and demanding care.
Mrs. McWILLIAMS lived to see three members of her family called to the life beyond. The first was an infant daughter, Florence, who died more than half a century ago. Fourteen years ago last November Mrs. McWILLIAMS looked upon the face of her husband for the last time on earth. In 1897 her oldest daughter, Mrs. Martha BROWN, died in Chicago. Four of her children have been spared to care for her in the years of her helplessness. Lovingly, tenderly and well have they performed this filial duty. This care is strong evidence of the deep, earnest, tender affection of her mother heart. These four children are John G. and Lafayette McWILLIAMS, of Chicago; Mrs. Augusta M. BERRY and Mrs. Duane W. COE, of Peterboro. The deceased also leaves twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral services were held at the old homestead Saturday, February 16. Conducted by the writer. Rev. Hoyt F. HILL
