Town of Barre - 1818

The Town of Barre is located in the southern central part of Orleans County and is 10 miles across from east to west and 5-1/2 miles across from north to south.
Barre got it's name from one of it's earliest settlers, Judge John Lee, who named it after his birth place, Barre, MA.
There are two hamlets in the Town of Barre; Barre Center & West Barre.
