Mrs. Laura KNAPP, widow of the late Riley KNAPP, died on Thursday last at the home of her son, Orris C. KNAPP, in East Gaines, where she had lived more than 50 years.

Funeral services for Paul S. KNEELAND, 77, of Holley, N.Y. were conducted last Thursday afternoon from the Emery Funeral Home. Mr. KNEELAND died May 16, 1960 in Newark - Wayne community hospital. Mr. KNEELAND was a former Fairport resident and a retired pharmacist of Sibley, Lindsay and Curr Co., where he had been employed 35 years. A native of Angelica, he had studied pharmacy at Columbia University. He moved to Fairport in 1918. He retired in 1953 and moved to Holley. He was a life member of the Newark Lodge of Masons.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Clifford ALVUT of Holley, three grandchildren; a sister, Miss Blanche KNEELAND of Fairport, a brother, Lloyd of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Burial was in White Haven Memorial Park.

The death of Mrs. Carrie KNICKERBOCKER, of Gaines village, occurred Friday in the home of a relative in Rochester. Mrs. KNICKERBOCKER was about 57 years old. She leaves one daughter, Miss Violette KNICKERBOCKER, of Gaines; one sister, Mrs. Wallace BROWN, of Albion and a brother, Henry BARRUS, of Eagle Harbor.

John C. KNICKERBOCKER, age 64 years, former district attorney, died of Cancer Friday at his home in Albion. He is survived by his wife; one son, John C, Jr., of Orlando, Fla., two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude KIRKLAND, of Columbus, O., and Miss Helen KNICKERBOCKER, of Albion and two sisters, Mrs. Mary DROMAN and Mrs. Esther HALL, both of Medina. The funeral was held Monday afternoon.

Mayette L. LYON, widow of the late Prentice D. KNIGHT, died at her home on Park Ave. last evening after a long illness with heart disease. Deceased was in the 78th yr. of her age and had been a resident of Medina nearly 40 yrs. Mrs. KNIGHT was for many years one of Medina's most popular milliners, retiring from business some years ago, since which time she has led a quiet, retired live, and will be greatly missed by a circle of friends by whom she was greatly beloved.
She is survived by one brother- Andrew J. LYON, of Norwich, N.Y. and two sisters residing in Kansas. Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow (Fri.) at 4 o'clock p.m. Rev. Alfred T. Vail officiating.

KNOWLES--Died at Knowlesville, Orleans county, N. Y., November 28th, 1871, at 5 o'clock P. M., Deacon William KNOWLES, aged eighty-one years four months and nine days. Thus in the maturity of his years, and after a long life devoted to noble works and Christian charities, has peacefully passed away this noble friend of man and faithful servant to the Most High.
William Knowles was born in Sandersfield, Berkshire county, Mass., July 19th, 1790. He was one of the earliest pioneers of the town of Ridgeway, and settled here in January 1815(?). He immediately took up and articled 341(?) acres of land where the village of Knowlesville is now situated, and which was named in his honor. He built a log cabin and commenced the improvement of his farm. In November, 1815(?), he went back to Massachusetts, and in January, 1815(?), was married to Miss Mary BALDWIN, with whom he returned to Knowlesville.
In 1823 he built the first frame house in Knowlesville, and in the same year built the first warehouse in this place, and bought and shipped the first boatload of wheat shipped from Orleans county.
In 1830 the brick church in Knowlesville was erected. For this purpose Mr. KNOWLES contributed one-half the necessary funds. Mr. and Mrs. KNOWLES united with the Presbyterian church in 1820, the first religious society organized in Ridgeway; and for nearly forty years he had been a ruling elder in that church.
Mr. Knowles has never had children, but has brought up and educated seven or eight children of others. To one of these, Rev. I. 0. Fillmore, he gave a liberal education, sending him to college and theological schools; preparing and fitting him for the ministry; besides making him a generous allowance of means, for which Mr. Filmore gave the filial devotion and more than gratitude of a son, though he was absent in California at the death of his benefactor.
Mr. KNOWLES was twice married. His first wife died April 2d, 1861. He afterwards married Miss Mary CRIPPEN, who survives him. Many of the above facts were originally contributed by the Rev. J. O. Fillmore, to the pioneer history of Orleans county by Judge Thomas.
To the public Mr. KNOWLES was distinguished for his benevolence and Christian charity. He was for years the largest contributor to his church. He never failed to respond to every appeal of Christian enterprise or private benevolence. He has often asked the writer of this article, if he knew of any case of private want, which he was ready to releve. Christian and other benevolent acts were the practices of his life. He sought out distress that he might relieve it. He lived plainly, and devoted all of his surplus income to the cause of that Master whom it was his delight to serve; but he served him in no spirit of vain glory, but marked diffidence and distrust of his own merits. His character placed him at the head of the community in which he lived, and which through a long life he had so ably assisted in building up. He lived consistently, and practiced to the best ot his ability the principles of his Master. His heart was always in the right place, and his private life was marked by kindness and generous liberality to his family. His character was therefore of the highest order. Love for his family, love for the community in which he lived, and reverence for him whose cause he had served for over fifty years, were its simple and beautiful elements.
His life was temperate and his health unusually good; but on the night of November 24th he had a severe attack of disease of the heart or its blood vessels. After great suffering, and expecting death before morning, he slowly rallied his strength. His neighbors gathered around him, and as soon as able to speak he remarked he wished he was on the other side of the river. He then quoted from John xiv, 2. “’In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you.’ I go to prepare a place for you,” and expressed a desire to be received into one of the mansions of his Heavenly Father. For five days after this attack he seemed to gradually recover, and was able to be about, but was again seized on the afternoon of November 28th with faintness and became unconscious, and in half an hour, without a struggle, passed peacefully away.

Mrs. Augusta KOCH died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. MUESEBECK, at Brockport, Sunday morning, April 4th. Mrs. KOCH had been for a long time a resident of Shelby Center. The body was brought to Medina and funeral service held at the Trinity Evangelic Lutheran church yesterday afternoon. The interment was at Shelby Basin Cemetery. (North Shelby Cemetery)

Louis KOFFMAN, 76, died last night at the Medina Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness. Born in Poland, Mr. KOFFMAN came to this country fifty years ago, and for the past few years had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Chester WASIERSKI, 512 Eagle Street.
Surviving are his wife, Rose; three daughters, Mrs. Augustus SKOMSKI of Middleport, Mrs. Thomas COTRISS and Mrs. Chester WASIERSKI of Medina; one son, George KOFFMAN of Medina; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Thibault Funeral Home, South Main Street, from where funeral services will be held at 9:30 a. m. Monday morning, and at 10 o'clock at Sacred Heart Church, with the Rev. Anthony KRAWCZYK officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Word was received Monday of the death at Mirror, Alberta, Can., of George KOHLER, 70 years old, a former resident of Orleans and Niagara Counties. When a young man he went to the Dakotas, later locating in Alberta. He was a farmer and owned one of the largest pieces of farm land in the northwest country. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity.
The body will be brought to Lockport for burial in Disinger’s Cemetery, town of Royalton. One sister, Mrs. Sarah WILLIAMS of the County Line Road, survives. Mrs. Ben D. WRIGHT and Miss Mildred KOHLER of Lockport were nieces of the deceased.

Mrs. Howard KOHLER, of Frank street, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon at 4:30, of heart trouble, aged 62 years. Deceased is survived by her husband, one son, Remington, of Rochester, one brother, Dr. REMINGTON and a sister, Mrs. Bessie GOLDSMITH, both of Rochester. The funeral will be held from the home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Edward John KONESKI, 53, of 724 Church Street, World War 1 veteran, died last night in the Veteran’s Hospital, Batavia, where he had been a patient since Thursday night. Mr. KONESKI had been in ill health for the past 25 years.
Born in Medina March 23, 1894, he was the son of the late George and Hedwig KONESKI. During World War 1 Mr. KONESKI saw service in France with the 318th. Field Battalion. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Sacred Heart Society, and also a member of the James P. Clark Post of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; two daughters, Mrs. Veronica MUSSO of Albion, and Mrs. Millicent BOARD of Medina; one grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. Nellie ORGANISCIAK of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Margaret ZATKOWSKI of Lockport, and Mrs. Ester SEVENSKI and Mrs. Mary COTRISS of Medina; and three brothers, Peter KONESKI of Buffalo, and Frank and Joseph KONESKI of Medina.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 8:30 o’clock at the Cleary Funeral Home, Park Avenue, and at 9 o’clock at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Funeral Arranged For Medina Women Killed In Saturday Accident, Two Critically Hurt - Auto Struck By Train At Getzville Crossing
Funeral services were arranged today for two Medina women, mother and daughter, who were instantly killed Saturday afternoon in a train and auto collision on a small New York Central crossing east of Buffalo on Millersport Highway, while the condition of two other occupants of the car, a Medina man and an Albion man, was still reported as critical in Sisters Hospital, Buffalo.
The dead, Mrs. Eleanor KONESKI, about 45, and her daughter, Virginia, 23, both of 312 Commercial St. were removed to the Thibault Funeral Home here and services will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 from the funeral home, and 10 a. m. from Sacred Heart Church, the Rev. Anthony KRAWCZYK officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
The injured, Frank KONESKI, 21, son of the dead woman, and Raymond LEWANDOWSKI, 23, of Albion, fiancé of the dead girl, remains in Sisters Hospital today. The condition of KONESKI is still reported as poor. He suffered fractures of the neck, both legs and hip, severe cuts over the eye, internal injuries and possibly a fractured skull, while Lewandowski sustained broken facial bones, shock and injuries to the spleen, kidneys and liver. The latter may also have suffered a fractured skull.
Mrs. KONESKI received a crushed chest, fractures of the neck, both legs and left wrist, while her daughter suffered a crushed chest and fractures of the skull, both legs and pelvis. All occupants of the car were thrown clear of the machine by the impact except Miss KONESKI who was wedged inside.
The single-track railroad is used only twice daily, and the train, which hit the KONESKI auto, was comprised of only a diesel locomotive and two cars. Engineer was W. W. DAWSON, 54, of Batavia. The group in the car were returning from a shopping trip to Buffalo in preparation for the scheduled marriage of Miss KONESKI and LEWANDOWSKI next month.
Surviving Mrs. KONESKI are her husband, Frank; three other sons, Felix, Theodore and Francis, all of Medina; a sister, Sophie KASPRZAK of Buffalo, several nieces and nephews, and other relatives in Poland from which country Mrs. KONESKI came to the U. S in 1920.

Young Medina Man loses fight For Life Following Accident
Death late yesterday afternoon claimed the life of the third passenger of the ill-fated
car that was struck by a New York Central engine on the Millersport Highway last Saturday
afternoon. Frank KONESKI, 21, died as a result of his injuries in Sisters Hospital,
Buffalo, where he was taken following the crash.
The dead youth's father, Frank KONESKI, and his brother, Felix, were at the bedside when the young man died. Killed when the accident occurred were the mother of Mr. KONESKI, Mrs. Eleanor KONESKI, and his sister, Virginia.
The Medina young man has been in a serious condition since the accident and little hopes held for his recovery. The other passenger of the car Raymond LEWANDOWSKI of Albion, was less seriously hurt and his recovery is expected.
Young KONESKI is survived by his father, Frank, and two brothers, Felix and Theodore. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 from the Thibault Funeral Home, and at 10 o'clock from Sacred Heart Church, the Rev. Anthony KRAWCZYK officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Kathleen Linnette KONESKI, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phil KONESKI of Medina, expired suddenly yesterday at Medina Memorial Hospital.
Surviving the infant are her parents, several brothers and sisters, her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Merritt HUTCHISON, and a grandfather, Frank KONESKI.
Private funeral services will be held from the THIBAULT Funeral Home, S. Main St., Thursday at 9:30 a.m. with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The death of Charles Frederick KOPP, 52, 218 Pearl Street, well known appliance dealer and repair man, occurred in the Medina Memorial Hospital at 5:30 a.m. today. Mr. KOPP suffered a stroke while at the Medina Moose Club shortly after five o’clock last night. He had been in ill health for a number of years.
Born in Akron, N.Y., May 11, 1901, his parents were the late Frederick and Libby SNELL KOPP. He came to Medina 21 years ago and for a number of years was identified with the Niagara Mohawk Power Co. in their Merchandising Dept. When this company discontinued this branch of their business Mr. KOPP entered business for himself which he continued since that time.
He was a member of the Medina Methodist Chuch, the Medina Lodge of Moose, Medina Lodge of Elks, Orleans Lodge I.O.O.F. of which he was a past noble grand; Medina Chamber of Commerce and Medina Conservation Club.
Surviving are his widow, Alta AMOS KOPP, a daughter, Judy and son, James; one sister, Mrs. Harry ETZOLD and three brothers, Louis, Lester and Leonard, all of Akron; also several nieces and nephews.
The body is resting at the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl Street, from where services will be held Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Reginald CORY will officiate and burial will be in Millville Cemetery.

Randall KOSSUTH, 17-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis and Charlene (DOODY) KOSSUTH of Batavia died recently in Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born June 9. Survivors besides his parents include his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew KOSSUTH of Batavia, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ford of Medina; great-grandmothers Mrs. Stephen FORD and Mrs. Beatrice BRASKEY, both of Medina; also several aunts and uncles.
Burial occurred yesterday at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia.

Funeral services will be held in Sacred Heart Church at 9:30 a.m. Thursday for Joseph KOTERAS Sr., 91, whose death occurred Monday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Francis MENCLEWICZ, 508 Eagle St. They will be preceded by prayer services in the Gulinski Funeral Home, 420 Eagle St., where the body is resting, at 9:15 a.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Mr. KOTERAS, a retired farmer, had been in ill health for a number of years and formerly lived on the Hoffman Rd. He was born in Poland Feb. 15, 1864. His wife, Katherine PLEJACHOWSKI KOTERAS died 27 years ago. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Society.
Surviving him besides Mrs. Francis MENCLEWICZ are the following four daughters, Mrs. John HOFFFMAN; Mrs. Anthony BALCERZAK, Mrs. Henry PRONATH of Medina and Mrs. Frank O’BRIAN of Buffalo; four sons, Edward, Walter, Thomas and Joseph Jr., of Medina. Twenty-five grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Michael KOTOW, aged 45 years, died Monday at the home of his cousin, Kostanty SHIMMEL on Railroad street, of pneumonia. He was an employee of the Medina Foundry Co. The funeral was held this Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Church. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Prayer services will be held at 9:30 Tuesday morning from the Thibault Funeral Home, followed by Requiem Mass at St. Mary’s Church at ten o’clock. Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Hanging himself in the attic of his Gravel road home, the lifeless body of Stephen KOZLOSKI, 38, was discovered by members of the family shortly after he had taken his own life Sunday afternoon. Police were called at 7:00 o’clock last night and notified Dr. L. F. WATERS, coroner, who issued a certificate of death by suicide while temporarily insane. Mr. KOZLOSKI had been in an irrational mood for sometime and had spent a period in a state institution for mental cases. He was employed here by the Jamestown Royal Furniture Co. on Orient street.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Anna KOZLOSKI, with whom he made his home; five brothers, Leo of Medina; Thomas, serving in the U.S. Army overseas; Edward of Lockport; John of Akron, and Francis of New York City and four sisters, Mrs. Mary KLINO of Middleport; Rita of Buffalo; Gerturude(sic) of Rochester, and Berniece(sic) of Medina.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 29th, at 8:30 from his late home and at nine o’clock in St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The funeral of William Coloski (KOZLOWSKI), formerly of this place, a polish man 36 years old, single, occurred from St. Mary's Church at 9 o'clock this morning. He had been employed in the Eastman Kodak works at Rochester for several years.

A sad tragedy occurred Saturday evening at about 5 o’clock about four miles north of this place on the farm of A. J. Skinner, when Herbert Keenan, a farm employe of Mr. Skinner, accidentally shot five-year old son of Charles KRATZ, who occupies Skinner’s tenement house. Keenan has been practicing at a target with a repeating rifle and had just lowered it to reload. He had put in the forward bullet and was about to insert the second when the rifle was discharged, the contents stricking young KRATZ, who had been watching him, in the abdomen. Drs. Munson and Scott were summoned. The lad is in a precarious condition, and is not expected to live. Keenan is prostrated with grief. Later - The boy died yesterday.

Funeral services were held this afternoon for the late Godfrey KREBS, 77, whose death occurred Friday, March 28, in the Medina memorial Hospital. The Reverend Paul H. Nemeschy, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, officiated and burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby. The services were largely attended. Bearers at the funeral were Carl Mietz, Herman Mietz, Walter Mietz, Edwin Krebs, Paul Krebs, and Raymond Krebs.
Monday's account of the death erroneously reported it as Martin Krebs, a surviving brother of the deceased.
Born June 15, 1874 in Swan Creek, Mich., his parents were the late Rev. and Mrs. Karl KREBS. He had been a resident of this vicinity since 1900, and engaged in farming for many years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lillian BAEHR KREBS, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 29, 1950: one daughter, Mrs. Walter REABOLD, Alpine, Calif.; three sisters, Sister Elizabeth KREBS and Sister Magdaline KREBS of the Lutheran Home, Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Marie DUFF of Cleveland, Ohio, and four brothers, the Rev. G. P. KREBS, Omaha, Neb., C. F. KREBS, Quinn, South Dakota; Martin W. KREBS of Medina and J. F. KREBS of Rochester. Also, six grandchildren, Donald and Norman REABOLD in the Armed Services; Mrs. Donald YAXLEY of Medina and Betty, Jane and Bonnie REABOLD of Alpine, Calif.

Mrs. Lillian L. KREBS, 76, of 1106 Elm Street, died last evening at Medina Memorial Hospital shortly after being admitted there. She was born in the Town of Royalton, July 29, 1883. She was married in 1901 to Godfrey KREBS who died in 1952. They had been engaged in farming for many years in the Shelby area before coming to Medina after retirement. Mrs. KREBS was a member of St. Peter’s Ladies Guild and the Bea Good Grandmothers Club. She had been a rural correspondent for the Medina Journal-Register.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Walter REABOLD of Alpine, California, six grandchildren, including Mrs. Donald YAXLEY of Medina; twelve great grandchildren. Michael Kret, 45 years old, was instantly killed at 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon when he attempted to assist the driver of the automobile, in which he was riding, to steer and sent the car into the ditch, where it overturned.
Kret, who is tenant farmer on the John Lattin farm, a mile east of Waterport, was riding with John Mack, 25 years old, south of Kenyonville, in the town of Carlton, when the accident occurred. Mack, who was only slightly injured, told Coroner Arthur L. Eccleston of Waterport, that Kret grabbed at the wheel, which sent the car into the ditch. Kret's neck was broken. Kret’s body was removed to Albion and an inquest will be held today by Dr. Eccleston. Kret leaves a wife and two children.

LYNDONVILLE - Mrs. Irene KROMPART, 86, of 1302 West Sullivan St., Olean, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, Nov. 17, in Olean General Hospital where she had been a patient for some time. Born near Lockport on Oct. 17, 1880, she came with her mother, Mrs. Alice OUTWATER, and two sisters to live in Lyndonville where they were educated. She was married to William J. KROMPART of Medina, furniture dealer, where the home continued until Mr. KROMPART’s death in 1929. She moved to Lyndonville soon after her husband’s death. For several years she was housekeeper for the late Charles Smith, undertaker, and for the last 14 years before her retirement over a year ago was homemaker at the Presbyterian Manse for the Rev. Richard Billingsley. Mrs. KROMPART attended the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Guild and was for years secretary of the Worthwhile Sunday School Class. She had for years been treasurer of the Literary and Historical Club until she moved to Olean.
Surviving besides her son, Hubert A. of Olean she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. V. James MORGAN (Edythe) of Rochester; five grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Edna ALTANPAUGH of Westfield, N.J., and several nieces and nephews. One son, Leland, preceded his parents in death. Funeral services will be held in the Smythe Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 conducted by the Rev. Richard Billingsley. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.

Harry T. KROMPART, 83, former Medinan, active in local music circles, died suddenly this morning as he was tuning a piano in a Kenmore home. Though he had moved to Buffalo about 28 years ago, he maintained many friends here. Death took him as he was engaged in his trade of piano tuning, a circumstance which he had wished for in passing conversation.
A son, Percy H. KROMPART, resides in Medina at 210 William Street. Born in Brantford, Ont., Canada, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry KROMPART and came to Medina early in his lifetime. He was a Methodist lay preacher in the Genesee Conference and had appeared in Medina pulpits as well as others throughout Western New York. He was a member of Riverside Kiwanis Club.
Surviving in addition to his son, Percy, in Medina, are two sisters, Mrs. Edward HALEY of Ancastor, Ontario, and Mrs. Frank NELSON of Dundas, Ont., and a brother, Ezra, of Rochester. Also surviving are four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Hartt Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., where services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30. Burial will be in Boxwood Cemetery.

KROMPART Funeral Conducted Sunday William J. KROMPART, who died suddenly Friday night in his home on William Street, was buried in Lynhaven Cemetery Sunday afternoon, following services at the late home, the Rev Fred Mittlefebidt officiating. He was 55 years old.
A member of Levan and Krompart, furniture dealers for more than 30 years, Mr. KROMPART had recently established a smaller furniture store following the dissolution of the partnership in the spring. He came to Medina from Dundas, Ontario and was employed first by A. W. Tripp in the furniture and undertaking business and then by Holdridge, Hart & Hill.
He is survived by his widow (Irene); two sons, Hubert of Medina and Leland of Buffalo and a daughter, Mrs James MORGAN of Rochester; two grandsons and three granddaughter; also four brothers, Albert of Dundas, Ontario, Ezra of Rochester; Harry T of Buffalo; Wesley of California and two sisters, Mrs. Edward HALEY of Ancaster, Ontario and Mrs. Frank NELSON of Dundas, Ontario.

Funeral services for Mrs. Augusta KRUGER, a resident of Albion for 35 years, who died at the Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital Saturday morning were held this afternoon at 2:30 from the funeral home at 134 East State Street, Albion.
A member of the Baptist Church, Mrs. KRUGER leaves four daughters, Mrs. Wallace EGLESTON, Albion; Mrs. Chester WAHL, Albion; Mrs. R H. SCHLEGEL, Rochester, and Mrs. Joseph DONAHUE, Lockport; two sons, John of Albion and William of Lockport; also nine grandchildren. Burial was at Beechwood Cemetery, Kendall.

Albion - Funeral services were held here today for the late Mrs. Caroline B. KRUEGER, 83 year old Albion woman, who died Friday of asphyxiation during a fire in her Hamilton Street home. Burial was in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
Mrs. KRUEGER's lifeless body was discovered by two of her neighbors, Frank Petronio and Carl Long, who, observing smoke coming from her house, broke in the front door, which they found locked. The body was on the floor in the doorway between her combination living room and bedroom and the kitchen. Police Chief McCabe stated that Mrs. KRUEGER had apparently taken care of the fire in the living room stove and dropped some hot coals on the floor. A hole was burned in the floor between the stove and the bed, and the bed-clothes were burned.
Mrs. KRUEGER was the widow of Arthur KRUEGER and was born in Germany. She leaves two sons, Elmer KRUEGER of Eagle Harbor and Richard KRUEGER of East Rochester; three grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and two brothers, William BEHREND of Kendall and Fred BEHREND of Kent, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The death of Andrew KRUSICK, 70, a native of Russia, occurred yesterday in the Medina Memorial Hospital following a long illness. The deceased came to the United States in 1914 and worked for a number of years in Lackawanna. He came to Medina in 1937 and worked for the New York Central Rail Road for a number of years, later being employed by A. L. Swett Iron Works.
Prayer services will be held from the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home on Friday, July 24, with services in St. Mary’s Church at 9 a.m. The Very Rev. Henry SHAW will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Anna KRYSINSKI, 80, died Sunday at her home in this village. Joseph KUBATEK, 58, of 308 Commercial Street, died early Sunday morning in the Medina Memorial Hospital where he was admitted a few hours previous. The Medina emergency ambulance administered oxygen at his home prior to taking him to the hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; three sons, Waldemar, Stanley, and Francis KUBATEK; four daughters, Mrs. Florence SCHULTZ, Mrs. Bernice SHELDON, Mrs. Helen McCAULEY, and Mrs. Adeline SCHULTZ; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 9:30 o’clock from his late home, and at 10 o’clock at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

June KUBATEK, nineteen-months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waldemar KUBATEK, 504 North Academy Street, died Saturday evening in the Medina Memorial Hospital. Besides her parents, the child is survived by her twin sister, Janice; two brothers, Robert and Richard; and her grandmothers, Mrs. KUBATEK of Medina, and Mrs. CELMER of Albion; also several aunts and uncles.
The body is resting at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. KUBATEK, 308 Commercial Street. Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Death came on the highway late last night for an Albion man when his car came together almost head-on with another on County House Rd. east of Millville. The Sheriffs Dept. s aid Clark E. KUHN, 26-year old son of Lloyd KUHN, highway superintendent for the Town of Albion, was killed instantly in the accident.
KUHN, who lived on Transit Rd., RD Albion, was driving east alone in a 1958 model auto, the investigators learned. The spot was about a quarter-mile east of Millville and near where the road makes a short curve, at the top of a hill. KUHN’s machine struck nearly head-on with one driven by Delbert A. Walck, 18, of 232 W. Center St., Medina, who was only slightly injured and not hospitalized.
KUHN died of neck lacerations that apparently severed the jugular vein. Walck suffered only a cut on the forehead and brush burns. Walck's passengers were 14-year-old John L. Sander of 157 State St., Medina, who suffered only a bump on the head, and 17-year-old Edmund E. Sander, of the same address, who suffered a bloody nose and reported a piece of glass in one eye. KUHN’s car and the other both were badly wrecked along the left sides and both were sent off the road into fields by the crash. None were apparently thrown from the machines. Coroner John Ellis of Albion pronounced Kuhn dead at the scene. The mishap took place at about 11:55 p.m., Sheriff John Williams said.
The accident victim was a native of Albion RD., living with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd KUHN on the Transit Road. He attended the Albion schools and was graduated from Albion High School with the class of 1951. He had been employed by the Henry Keeler Construction Co. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of Albion Lodge of Elks and Hart Hose Company.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Lloyd of Medina and Arnold of Albion; two sisters, Mrs. Carl YUNGFLEISCH, Albion and Mrs. Julius MAREK, Waterport, his maternal grandrnother, Mrs. Albertine CARLSON of Albion and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are being received at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Ingersoll Street, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. with burial in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Russell KUHN, of Albion, was killed Thursday when a Ford touring car he was driving was struck by a west bound passenger train on the New York Central railroad north of Canandaigua. Death was instantaneous, the man's skull having been fractured. His car was reduced to wreckage.

Donna Lee KUJAWA, seven-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester KUJAWA of 130 Worthy Ave., died at Medina Memorial Hospital at 1 p.m. today, a few minutes after she was admitted. The youngster was taken ill over the week end. Funeral arrangements are being made at the Thibault Funeral Home, S. Main St.
Private funeral services were held at 2 p.m. this afternoon in the Thibault Funeral Home for Donna Lee KUJAWA, 7-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester KUJAWA, Worthy Avenue, whose death occurred Monday in the Medina Memorial Hospital following a short illness. The Very Rev. Henry B. SHAW, paster of St. Mary's Church, officiated and burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The death of Frank E. KUJAWA (aka SMITH), 59, well known Medina resident ocurred last evening in his home, 309 Commercial Street. Death followed a long illness. The deceased was born in Medina and had spent his entire life here. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of Sacred Heart Society and was last employed by Taylor Bros.
Surviving are his wife, Stella; three sons, Sylvester B. of Buffalo; Raymond M. at home and 1st Lt. Donald F. in Germany and two daughters, Mrs. Irene MIX and Miss Dorothy KUJAWA, both of Medina; two brothers, Peter of Medina and George of Alden, N.Y., two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

George (aka SMITH) KUJAWA, 57, a native of Medina and for the past 15 years residing in Buffalo, died yesterday in Meyer Memorial Hospital in that city at the climax of a long illness. Before leaving Medina to live in Buffalo, he had been employed at the Niagara Sprayer & Chem. Co. in Middleport. Sad Drowning Accident
Sunday afternoon, about four o'clock, Mariana KUJAWA, a Polish woman, was drowned in the canal.
Her husband and son were in a small boat with her and had rowed down the canal about two miles
for the purpose of landing a neighbor. On their return, at a point near Hastings' bridge,
they met a double lumber boat which made such waves that it overturned the light row boat and
threw the occupants into the water. The husband swam ashore with the child and was returning
for his wife when she went under. She was thirty-one years of age. Coroner Munson did not
deem an inquest necessary."
(NOTE: Mariana's maiden name was printed in the article. She was actually Mariana A. (Parada) Kujawa, the first wife of Anthony Kujawa, and the daughter of John Parada and Kate Nowacki. She was survived by two children, Kate, 6 and Edward, 3.)

Mrs. Michael (Mary M.) KUJAWA, 52, died suddenly at her home, 211 Gravel Rd., early this morning. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Stanley SUHALLA, Albany; Mrs. Harold CRAMB, Rochester, and Marcia, at home; one son, Hubert, at home; one grandchild; her mother, Mrs. Katherine KWIATKOWSKI; one sister, Mrs. Edward JOHNSON Medina, and five brothers, Steven, Izydor and Leo of Lyndonville, Stanley of Dundee, John of Rochester.

Mrs. Estella KULPA, 73, of 557 East Ave., died this morning at the Casey Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Albion, Mrs. KULPA had lived in this vicinity most of her life time. For a number of years she and her husband managed a farm on the Oregon Road. Mr. KULPA died a year ago. Mrs. KULPA was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
Surviving are one son, John KOZLOSKI of Medina; four sisters, Mrs. Anna KUSPA of Medina, Mrs. Stephen HURISH and Mrs. Helen KARPENSKIi of Auburn, and Mrs. Nellie MANZELL of Niagara Falls. Also two brothers, Joseph RADZYMSKI of Medina and Anthony RADZYMSKI of Albion; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Andrew KURDZIEL, 61, of Gulf street, died early Sunday morningin an Albion Hospital. Born in Russia, Mr. KURDZIEL has resided here for many years.

Mrs. Nellie KURKOSKI, 74, widow of John KURKOSKI, died Friday afternoon at the Casey Nursing Home, W. Center St., where she had been a patient for the last two months. Mrs. KURKOSKI was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Ladies Rosary Society of that church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary GURZENSKI and Mrs. Catherine TUOHEY, both of Medina, and Veronica KOEPSEL of Middleport. Also a son, Walter of North Tonawanda, 11 grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Cleary Funeral Home, Park Ave., and at 10 am. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in the family plot in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Miss Bernice Kusmierczak, 14 year old daughter of Frank Kusmierczak of 113 Stork Street, died yesterday afternoon at her home after a lingering illness. A freshman in Medina high school, she left school in March, 1938. She was born in Medina in June 1924.
Besides her father, she leaves four sisters, Lucille, Mary, Catherine, and Gertrude, all at home; and six brothers, Frank, William, Edward, John, Stanley and Walter, also at home. Stephen KUSMIERCZAK, 71, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at his home, 405 Commercial St., from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was born in Poland and came to this country as a young man. His suicide was believed caused by poor health. Mr. KUSMIERCZAK married the former Helen SZYMANSKI in Niagara Falls and they have resided in Medina for the past forty-seven years. He had been employed at A. L. Swett Iron Works and at the Bignall Co. during his lifetime. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Society.
He is survived by his wife Helen and two grandchildren, Millicent and Allan BERNARD of Medina. Prayer services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Saturday from the Gulinski Funeral Home, 420 Eagle St., followed by a funeral mass at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Joseph Rydz will officiate, and burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Edward KUSPA, 59, of North Street, a World War 1 veteran, died yesterday morning at the Veteran’s Facility, the Bronx, N.Y., where he had been transferred from the Veteran’s Hospital in Batavia five days previous. Serving overseas in the first World War, Mr. KUSPA was a member of the Lincoln Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John BACON and Mrs. William FARRELL of Medina; and three brothers, James KUSPA of Medina; Henry KUSPA of Chicago, Ill, and John KUSPA of California.

Born in Medina his parents were the late John and Mary COTRISS KUSPA. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ann KUSPA; a step-daughter, Mrs. James WHITE; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes FARRELL and Mrs. Lena BACON of Medina, a brother, John KUSPA of California and several nieces and nephews.

The death of Mrs. Mary KUSPA, 97, one of Medina's oldest residents, occurred at her home, 132 North Street, at ten o'clock this morning. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. Mrs. KUSPA had been active until the past few days.
Born near Warsaw, Poland, Mrs. KUSPA came to the United States 70 years ago. She has been a resident of Medina for the past 60 years and prior to that time had resided in Buffalo and Dunkirk. Her husband, John KUSPA, died in 1905. Mrs. KUSPA was a member of St. Mary's parish.
Surviving are three sons, Edward of Medina, James of Shelby Basin and Henry of Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. W.J. (Agnes) FARRELL and Mrs. John (Lena) BACON, both of Medina, and one brother, Lawrence ASHER of Utica.
The body is resting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. FARRELL, 409 East Center Street. Funeral services will be held in St. Mary's Church Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Rev. James Hogan will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Ida GOODMAN KUTNER 62, for many years a resident of Albion, died yesterday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sylvia SPIEWAK of New York City, where she has been residing since June of this year. Death followed a long illness.
Mrs. KUTNER, with her husband, Lester KUTNER, operated dress stores in Albion, Medina and Buffalo for a number of years. Starting in Albion 40 years ago they opened a store in Medina which they continued for 25 years and which they discontinued in 1954. They also operated stores in Buffalo which are now operated by their son. KUTNER’s Store continues in Albion. The deceased was a member of Albion Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and of the Beth El Temple of Batavia.
In addition to her husband and daughter, she is survived by a son, Harold of Buffalo, three grandchildren, two sisters and a brother. A service was held today at the Riverside Memorial Chapel in New York City with burial planned in Philadelphia where Mrs. KUTNER was born.

Funeral services were held in Riverside Memorial Chapel, New York City, today for Lester KUTNER 66, former Albion and Medina businessman, who died suddenly on Saturday. Mr. KUTNER’s death followed by a month the passing of his wife, Ida, with whom he was associated in business. Mrs. KUTNER died in New York City on Oct. 21.
Mr. KUTNER‘s body was discovered on the dining room floor of his home, 205 East Bank Street, Albion, by his daughter, Mrs. Sylvia SPIEWAK of New York City, who had been visiting in the KUTNER home. He had been undergoing treatment for a heart ailment.
The KUTNERs had operated a dress shop in Albion for about 30 years, and also conducted a store in Medina for many years but discontinued it five years ago. Mr. KUTNER with his son, Harold, of Buffalo, also operated an automobile sales agency here as well as dress shops in Buffalo. He was a native of Philadelphia, Pa. He was a member of Albion Lodge of Masons and Temple Beth El of Batavia.

Joseph KWIATKOWSKI (FLOWER), 83, of 179 Glenwood Ave. died this morning at home. He was born in Poland and came to America as a young man. He had been employed as a moulder at Butts & Slack, East Avenue Foundry, Central Foundry and Swett Iron Works. Mr. KWIATKOWSKI was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; three sons, Joseph, Bernard and Sylvester, all of Medina; one daughter, Mrs. Chester (Elizabeth) STARKWEATHER; also, one brother Michael, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Prayer services will be held Monday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the Gulinski Funeral Home, 420 Eagle St. Funeral Mass will be said at the Sacred Heart Church 9:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Rydz officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary KWIATKOWSKI, 58, of 144 Gulf St., whose death occurred Saturday morning at the Medina Memorial Hospital, were held this morning at Sacred Heart Church. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Francis (?) KWIATKOWSKI, two sons, Chester and Anthony KWIATKOWSKI, all of Medina; and one brother and two sisters in Poland. Mrs. KWIATKOWSKI was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Rosary Society.

Albion, Dec. 9 - Mrs. Rosalia KWIATOWSKI 69, died yesterday at her home at 44 Brown Street. She is survived by her husband, Martin KWIATOWSKI, three daughters, Mrs. Francis JAWORSKI of Rochester, Mrs. Mary SANTOS of Cleveland and Mrs. Celia COTRISH of Medina; two sons, Frank and Leo NORKOWSKI of Albion; two sisters, Mrs. Frances RUTKOWSKI of Albion and Miss Katherine DEPCZYNSKI of Auburn, and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral at St. Mary's Church at 9 a.m. Monday.
